As a diabetic, I love making this low-carb dish. I much prefer using ground pork for the fat and the flavor, but I do use less oil to compensate. I also add egg to mine....I cook it first, lightly scrambled, then remove it and add it back in at the very end. Chile garlic paste as a condiment is the final touch.

I made this today and put it in MR, Tortilla 1 carb tortilla wraps it is small so you can make egg rolls or Lumpia with them and freeze then when ready to eat take out of freezer and lightly spray with olive oil and place in air fryer for about 4 min, very good!

I did not have the coconut amino acid, {have to buy,} but used low salt tamari sauce and i used ground beef didnt have the turkey, used it all up previously, I want to say I have been going to this weight lose program here in Tucson for almost a year now, its called Diet of Hope, i started in march of last year, i have realized 1 year almost later that i have to put my body in what is Ketosis in order to lose weight, if I eat carbs then I dont lose. Ugh, But they were happy with me over the Holidays I didnt gain or lose I stayed the same. Amen Thank you Jesus. I want to start a channel like yours and do low carbs with recipes. Those Jicama wraps from TJ’s would be good with this. I’ve been making tacos with them. They are so good. If you put a couple of them together and spread them apart a little bit, you could probably roll it into a little egg roll. I’ve never cooked Jicama before but I read that it becomes crispier so I may try to lightly fry them ❤

I also add in canned mushrooms 🍄 cuz I love them and some ginger paste in addition to all the other ingredients.

There is a LOT of sugar/carbs in that coconut amigos stuff. We did make this and my blood sugars are going up like a rocket according to my CGM. Now that I'm paying closer attention and doing the math according to the nutrition label 1 tsp of Bragg coconut aminos has 2g carbs (2g sugar) so that means each Tbsp = 6g carbs (6 sugars), and there were 4 Tbsps in this recipe, that makes 24g carbs (24g sugars). Even half of that is too much for me if I'm trying to control my insulin resistance by not taking more insulin. I'll try using plain soy sauce and use allulouse to sweeten (because allulouse actually LOWERS MY BLOOD sugar, learned this from Ben Bikman). This was very tasty though and an EXCELLENT base for variations... Tomato sauce & parmesean (Italian night), taco seasoning (Mexican night), peanut satay sauce made with allulouse (Thai night). Thank you for the recipe but I'll have to modify it to actually make it low carb.

Depending on the store, I can find it with the regular soy sauce, in the Asian food aisle, or with other sauces (ketchup, mustard, hot sauces, vinegars, etc.) . You can also find it online.
I used Broccoli slaw instead of the coleslaw mix and shrimp instead of the meat. I also added ginger,garlic,keto honey and gochujang and subbed soy sauce for the coconut aminos. Added the scrambled egg as another poster suggested. It was good but it appears I’m one of those *people* who totally change a recipe so there’s no resemblance to the original one. 😬

I make mine by seasoning the meat with chinese five spices... between that and the sesame oil it definitely tastes like an egg roll!!!!
I don't use sriracha, but my version of this includes some garlic/ginger paste.
