A new venture because I've got addicted to OpenTTD again! I found myself thinking about how Transport Tycoon works underneath, and I'm looking through the code of the open source remake of it to discover its mechanics.
This video looks at the code behind town growth rate, and how to make towns grow more quickly. Игры
My town growth hack is to make 2 bus stations, 2 separate cargo (mail) stations and then an Independent train station to another town. This provides the needed stops, but minimizes them competing for the limited resources in a small town.

Video idea/request, inspired by a Reddit post that had me trying (and failing) to make sense of the code myself - how does Property Maintenance (and its optional evil twin Infrastructure Maintenance) work? What exactly are we charged for and how do the costs scale?

Pathfinding of trains busses might be interesting, or too complicated!
E.g. how does a bus decide which roads to go down?
I think train lines have pathfinder penalties for certain things, stations apply a penalty so a train is more likely to go around a station than through one (if it doesn't need to stop)
once i realised 5 bus stops could make a city grow without any further input it made me a bit disappointed
Yes, I always assumed that transporting people between cities and giving it cargo would make it grow faster, but it doesn't care where the passengers come from! However, citybuilder mods exist for OpenTTD that change the rules and make towns more picky about their requirements :)

Hi! That was just something I coded in myself to demonstrate it - my code is a bit of a mess but perhaps I’ll put up a fork of it some time to make it available to others!

What version has the police cars and ambulances....... The version I play does not have the Police or other emergency vehicles......I have street car Lines tho
