Bahasa Indonesia or Indonesian language is spoken by all 280 million of Indonesian population, not to mention Indonesians & Indonesian diasporas living overseas. It has also become the official national language of Indonesia since 1928, during its struggle for independence long before it gained its independence in 1945. Currently Bahasa Indonesia is also taught in over 50 countries worldwide. Since 2023, last year, Bahasa Indonesia has also been officially accepted by Unesco as one of its 10 official languages, namely: English, French, Spanish, Arab, Russian, Portuguese, Chinese, Hindi, Italy, & Bahasa Idonesia (Indonesian). I am just wondering how you can be not informed about this fact, despite your bussinesses in foreign languages teachings. That's so weird!!!

Those languages shown in the video, are definitely the most spoken ones in this unimaginable world. I can only speak English and Spanish as my primary languages, and I was meant to boost my potential in learning to speak beautiful languages for online global communication. The information displayed was very entertaining, informative and useful. And I tend to beat myself up when trying new languages other than the two I aforementioned because of the lack of confidence and some of my target languages are exceptionally hard to understand and get inside me, but that also depends on one's personal preferences. Thanks a lot for the video ❤.

Slight correction - The United States of America DOES NOT HAVE AN OFFICIAL LANGUAGE - it is just that English is the majority spoken language. Unlike many countries that designate an official language for protectionist, religious, or social-political reasons, the USA has only occasionally considered making English official. If there were ever sufficient pressure from some other language, say Spanish, it is likely that eventually English would be codified as official in order to streamline official, governmental, or legal processes. It is already happening in a passive way, especially along the Mexican boarder - there are many examples of where Spanish is tolerated and even embraced but if there are any governmental or legal actions it is in English with Spanish an option. This makes functional sense in a more democratic society.

The Malay language is also understood by around 300 people, mostly as the Indonesian or Malaysian version. Indonesia alone has about 280 million people. The rest are spoken mainly in Malaysia (32 million people) , also in Brunei, Singapore and the Malays in Southern Thailand. The official dictionary in Malaysia has about 120000 entries, and is written both in the Roman and Jawi scripts. Russian was taught in schools everywhere in the former Eastern Bloc, but actually, when you went to vacation somewhere, it was better to either speak your language, if you were Slavic and it was a Slavic country, or use German (which was more or less popular), or English. People did not really like Russian.

Everyone knows how powerful English is in the world, but I also think that French is a powerful language. It's a language with a wide geographical spread. I would add that in Asia, the largest number of French speakers are in Lebanon, with around 40%. And in Israel, around 6 to 10%. But in a few decades French will decline in Lebanon because of English, which is already very widespread in Lebanon. Although I don't think French will disappear like it has in Rwanda or Vanuatu. (Spanish also has a lot of potential, but the majority of Spanish speakers are in America).
Wrong, it's the *Balto-Slavic* branch. It's ridiculous to go with "Indo-Iranian" and not separate the Iranian and Indo-Aryan branches from each other, but then turn around and separate the Baltic and Slavic branches from each other when they are grouped in the Balto-Slavic branch.
Dedicated to the beauty and chaste sounds of the instruments and languages of wanderers and artists. The stave mechanism has been tuned by beautiful fingers with a gentle, smooth movement. All the strings are now precisely taut. The fingers of the left hand gently slid along the highest note. The right hand touched the edge of the wooden soundboard. The neck of the ancient instrument carries above its surface A series of bowstrings, holding the sounds that have not been released yet. The lower string struck with the pick - Released the sound, reminding the old brush watercolor paintings. The fingers of the left hand slid along the fretboard, National motifs in mind drawing. The dress is long, beautiful, with a bright autumnal pattern. The hostess nods - the vibrations of the stretched strings release the pleasant rhyme. A strikes on the strings, pressed by the delicate fingers against the surface of the fretboard, - And a pair of ancient mysterious instruments began its magic, The colorful vision of melody emitting. A cheerful breeze blew, It touched the delicate hairs of the beautiful fair forehead. It brought to mind the motif of the mountain seen in the distance. The snow-covered top of the mouth. A terrible infernal force It can spew out... Wuh! Again the gentle breath of the breeze Made me change my sight of the picture. And below, at the foot of the mountain, drowning in shrubs and trees the city could be seen. Where is the passage, leading down there? “You have to go down the hill, The descent is steep and perhaps dangerous here”. And you can see this landscape through the gates. Perhaps only the courageous and pure heart can enter this place. Beyond it, the descent is steeper. Maybe it should be taken off my sword, To have three supports just in case. “Wait, let's not go down there. Here is the beautiful nature and close is a village”. Not far away, people are working in their gardens. In the opposite direction, a gentler descent by someone could be shown there. In the flooded fields Rice sprouts are dense. They need a host's attention. And the care here is quite different from that in the brave city at the foot of the great, formidable mountain... A quick flick of gentle fingers and the moderator dashes - The sweet sound of the bunch of basses, Conveying that it is time to return to the initial places. The guests are asked to stay longer in the village. The rice is already cooked for the dinner dishes. Thank You for Your play and the attention for Your fans. With respect, Author Andrii Sizhuk

Well, u mentioned it so ty, i think there are more speakers there than East timor and macau, too. Also, in Japan, because remember that brazil had a lot of japanese people or their descendants that migrated (back) to Japan so about 500,000 speak portuguese (plus foreigners)
No it's wrong.
very informative i learned somethings i enjoy your approach to each topic i just found your channel ans subscribed please keep up the good work
In my view, as far as i can see, Bahasa Indonesia aka Indonesian language should have included into these top ten list most widely spoken. Thankyou very much . CMIIW
Not
Yes. Malay-Indonesian language. Just like Hindi & Urdu should be combined.
I speak Arabic, French and English. I am now learning Greek, it’s not on the list but it’s a fascinating language.
Like your content, Also like your outfit, Also like your knowledge. Thank you for sharing.
My first language was French by 22 years old I've decided to learn English and it was the best decision of my life that I even denied French of my life, I didn't speak a French word ever since
Se ve que el español tiene buena aceptación ya que es considerada lengua romance.

I am surprised i did not see korean, German and Italian language in the list. Thank you for this great video...i enjoyed it.
Just for curiosity, the portuguese language is spoken in 9 countries in the world: Angola, Brasil, Cabo Verde, Guiné-Bissau, Guiné-Equatorial, Moçambique, Portugal, Timor-Leste e São Tomé e Príncipe.
Macau as well 👍
@@vi8972 You are right.
Zoe, Zoe, can you make a video on how to maintain focus and defeat procrastination, please? How do you break plateaus and know you got an advanced level?
Great job 👏🏻
Those languages shown in the video, are definitely the most spoken ones in this unimaginable world. I can only speak English and Spanish as my primary languages, and I was meant to boost my potential in learning to speak beautiful languages for online global communication. The information displayed was very entertaining, informative and useful. And I tend to beat myself up when trying new languages other than the two I aforementioned because of the lack of confidence and some of my target languages are exceptionally hard to understand and get inside me, but that also depends on one's personal preferences. Thanks a lot for the video ❤.
I'm Bangladeshi. We have earned this language by sacrificing many lives. I'm proud of my language. ❤🇧🇩
✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅
But still bangladeshi people can't speak bengali language properly can't read properly can't write properly writing english words with bengali letters so whats the benefit of this sacrifice that we earned shredding blood its very sad the bangladeshi students and teachers professors don't know the bengali meaning of school college and university and don't know the bengali meaning of matric and intermediate so that's the meaning of this proudness its very shamefull for us so that we call us bangladeshi bengali and our education system the technique of teaching is so disgusting and we load heavy books in bags and giving pressure to nursery kids we are not creating new generations we r destroying it
The real Bengali is spoken in west bengal, not Bangladesh. In Bangladesh there are way too many subj-bengali languages.

Indonesia has 273 million population, who speak Indonesian language
Indonesian is officially one of the languages of 10 UNESCO languages, the total number of speakers reaching 278 million people from various parts of the world.
Who cares? Outside indonesia and Malaysia and perhaps the tiny brunei, this language lost its commercial value. Hell, even ASEAN organisation wont even considered it as one of the official language. There you go.
Indonesia's population is 279 million, all of whom speak Indonesian. Data from the Indonesian language development center states that Indonesian is spoken in more than 50 countries, taught in more than 428 educational institutions abroad. Indonesian is the official language of UNESCO. Indonesian is the mother tongue of around 279 million Indonesians, and is the second language of around 100 million people outside Indonesia.❤
❤ thanks Zoe
I also speak 4 out of 10 languages and ( learning Spanish..)❤❤
Hi Zoe! Thank you for sharing about top 10 most spoken languages in the world.

I'm a Vietnamese American who is culturally Latino and I can confirm a language called Spanglish exists.

Amazing. !

Overwhelmed with your grasp on correct diction and pronunciation.
Indonesian is not included even though Indonesia has a population of more or less 280 million. There are around 20 million foreign Indonesian speakers, is that not enough for you so you know there are a lot of Indonesian speakers?
I'm a spanish speaker, I learned some english on high school, but it surely needs some polishing, would love to learn any other languages someday, Portuguese, Italian and Japanese being the ones that catch my attention the most, I love Italian and Japanese cultures, and I live next to Brazil.
What is your next language zoe

Fun fact: there are French communities (even though small) in Italy too 😊
and you should have mentioned that many countries use English as their second language and has the largest vocabulary, if use use it as well, that is the reason why so much literature has English translations.
I am a Berber from Algeria and I speak fluently 4 languages Berber, Arabic, french and English and I am also a beginner in German and Italian
People want to learn language like English, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese. But don't want to learn language like Hindi-urdu, Bengali,
Hindi is a fascinating language. People are just silly and don’t understand. Hindi is also pretty easy and similar to European languages
People will eventually learn them more when the global power balance pivots to Asia. That will happen over the next 25-30 years.
Yeah but India has to promote more and more his language
Shut up
Because they are more influencial and they are powerful countries

The Malay language is also understood by around 300 people, mostly as the Indonesian or Malaysian version. Indonesia alone has about 280 million people.
The rest are spoken mainly in Malaysia (32 million people) , also in Brunei, Singapore and the Malays in Southern Thailand.
While it is officially written almost phonetically in The Roman script, it can also be written in the Arabic script called JAWI.

The most spoken language families in the world:
1. *Sino-Tibetan* : Mandarin, Cantonese, Tibetan, etc. 🇨🇳🇭🇰🇹🇼🇲🇴
2. *Indo-European* :
- *Indo-Iranian* : Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Urdu, Persian, etc. 🇮🇳🇮🇷🇵🇰🇧🇩
- *Romance* : Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Romanian, etc. 🇪🇦🇵🇹🇨🇵🇮🇹🇷🇴
- *Germanic* : English, German, Dutch, Swedish, etc. 🇬🇧🇩🇪🇳🇱🇸🇪
- *Slavic* : Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, Czech, etc. 🇷🇺🇵🇱🇺🇦🇨🇿
- *Other subdivisions* : Celtic, Greek, Baltic, Albanian, etc. 🏴🇬🇷🇱🇹🇦🇱
3. *Niger-Congo* : Swahili, Yoruba, Zulu, Shona, etc. 🇹🇿🇰🇪🇳🇬🇿🇦🇿🇼
4. *Afro-Asiatic* : Arabic, Amharic, Hebrew, Hausa, etc. 🇸🇦🇾🇪🇴🇲🇵🇸
5. *Austronesian* : Indonesian, Tagalog, Malay, Hawaiian, etc. 🇮🇩🇵🇭🇲🇾
6. *Dravidian* : Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, etc. 🇮🇳
7. *Turkic* : Turkish, Azerbaijani, Uzbek, Kazakh, etc. 🇹🇷🇺🇿🇰🇿

The neck of the ancient instrument carries above its surface
A series of bowstrings, holding the sounds
that have not been released yet.
The lower string struck with the pick -
Released the sound, reminding the old brush watercolor paintings.
The fingers of the left hand slid along the fretboard,
National motifs in mind drawing.
The dress is long, beautiful, with a bright autumnal pattern.
The hostess nods - the vibrations of the stretched strings release the pleasant rhyme.
A strikes on the strings, pressed by the delicate fingers against the surface of the fretboard, -
And a pair of ancient mysterious instruments began its magic,
The colorful vision of melody emitting.
A cheerful breeze blew,
It touched the delicate hairs of the beautiful fair forehead.
It brought to mind the motif of the mountain seen in the distance.
The snow-covered top of the mouth.
A terrible infernal force
It can spew out...
Wuh! Again the gentle breath of the breeze
Made me change my sight of the picture.
And below, at the foot of the mountain,
drowning in shrubs and trees
the city could be seen.
Where is the passage, leading down there?
“You have to go down the hill,
The descent is steep and perhaps dangerous here”.
And you can see this landscape through the gates.
Perhaps only the courageous and pure heart can enter this place.
Beyond it, the descent is steeper.
Maybe it should be taken off my sword,
To have three supports just in case.
“Wait, let's not go down there.
Here is the beautiful nature and close is a village”.
Not far away, people are working in their gardens.
In the opposite direction, a gentler descent by someone could be shown there.
In the flooded fields
Rice sprouts are dense.
They need a host's attention.
And the care here is quite different from that in the brave city
at the foot of the great, formidable mountain...
A quick flick of gentle fingers and the moderator dashes -
The sweet sound of the bunch of basses,
Conveying that it is time to return to the initial places.
The guests are asked to stay longer in the village.
The rice is already cooked for the dinner dishes.
Thank You for Your play and the attention for Your fans.
With respect,
Author Andrii Sizhuk
