    15:21 What’s the Lineup of the X-Men?
    #XMen #MCU #Wolverine
    Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness just introduced professor X in the MCU. It’s Patrick Stewart alright, though it’s unclear if this is the same Xavier from Fox’s X-Men movies or a completely new variant. So does this mean that the X-Men will be introduced in the MCU through the multiverse? Are those movies going to be part of the MCU’s canon, or is it going to be a soft reboot? Well, if Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine, I’m game!
    That being said… gotta be honest, I’m not sure if I’m a fan of mutants being introduced this way. There’s nothing wrong with it, it sure makes sense. But as cool as it sounds on paper, I have some doubts about it. I think that the Xavier in Doctor Strange 2 will only be a cameo, and the mutants already exist in the MCU, we just haven't met any of them yet. I know what you are thinking, but trust me, I got a theory. But if the X-Men are sharing the same universe with the Avengers, where are they?
    I mean it’s like Marvel can just say that mutants have always been around, they were just hiding in that bush over there, right? Well… maybe that’s exactly how it will happen.
    Marvel studios have proven that the simplest solution is almost always the best. Meaning that there’s no need for an elaborate explanation on where the mutants have been all of these years. Instead keep it simple, and focus on what matters - the characters. Maybe the mutants have always been around, we just didn’t know about them till they became relevant to the story.
    Yeah, this might sound like a huge cop-out, but in reality, the thing people actually want to see is the X-Men interacting with the other heroes. We want the team-ups and the crossovers. We want to see Wolverine fight Hulk and Avengers vs X-Men. So, is it really necessary to explain how mutants join the MCU? Well, that’s why we made this video. So let’s talk how the X-Men will join the MCU, and more importantly how their stories should be implemented.
    Here's the thing about the MCU, there are certain things that marvel studios doesn’t bother explaining, simply because there’s no need to. For example the 10 rings.
    We know that they are ancient, very powerful, and that Xu Wenwu used them for hundreds of years. But we don’t know where the rings came from. Marvel didn’t bother to go into it, probably because that part wasn’t important for Shang-Chi’s story. Maybe they left it a mystery so they can go into it in the future, and explaining the origins of these magical artifacts would have detracted from the movie. Marvel puts their heroes in the forefront, it’s about their stories above anything else. Exposition is usually pretty boring, and non-comic fans, who comprise the majority of the audience, don’t really care about stuff like the origins of the 10 rings. If it’s not important to the heroes’ journey, then why should the audience even think about it?
    It’s like when Marvel introduced the Masters of the Mystic Arts in Doctor Strange. No one bat an eye about the reveal that there are thousands of sorcerers in the MCU all of the sudden. Same with the Eternals, Spider-Man, magic users, Wakanda, Captain Marvel, Black Widow’s family, and everything else that expanded the MCU. It's just one of those things that happen in fiction, as stories develop, new elements will be naturally added over time. We shouldn't overthink these things too much.

    I like the theory that we’re already in the midst of the ‘House of M’ storyline. The Wanda from another universe said “No more mutants” and wiped out mutants from multiple universes. Then, when this is reversed (Multiverse of Madness?), we’ll start to see where they fit into the storyline all along. Characters like Steve and Bucky might then remember meeting Wolverine, Xavier, etc. in the past. And we’ll see familiar scenes reshot with mutant involvement..

      I thought this as well, except i think each member should be given either two 1-hour episodes or three 45-minute episodes to flesh out their origin/beginnings and how they came to arrive at the X-mansion. Narratively, it can be like Boba Fett or Lost, where we see flashbacks to their origins while there is a current story going on. Finale can be an extended episode to deal with the villian they've been facing the whole season. Maybe the Hellfire Club? And then have a post credit scene for an upcoming villian like Mister Sinister to set up for a X-Men film.

I think that Profeser X, Storm, Jubalie,Cyclops Dawin and Magneto should be main I would make Wanda be the bridge between the show and the movies.

    Infinity Stone energy being a catalyst for mutations was a key component of my theory. In my version, the potential of mutants was virtually nil, with a few exceptions. For example, since for the majority of human history in the MCU, only the Time Stone was on Earth. Who is to say that occasionally someone took it from the Sorcerer Supreme and became altered by its powers. This could account for long lived characters such as Apocalypse, Selene, and Mr. Sinister. Fast forward to the mid tenth century and the Tesseract is left in the care of the Norse. Exposure to its energies could have left inactive mutations that are passed along through the generations, occasionally becoming active under the right conditions. This could explain the origins of characters like Logan.
    Moving on to WW2, Hydra exposed POWs from different nations to the Tesseract energy while they worked in their weapons factories, as well as direct human experimentation under Zola. After the war, the survivors would return home and pass these inactive mutations to their children, to their grandchildren, and so on with no obvious symptoms as an appropriate catalyst for mass activation had yet to appear. You might have the occasional activation, which could account for characters like Professor X, Magneto, and others.
    Finally, we come to the Snap, and a wave of cosmic energy radiates across the world, and pre-adolescents with the X-gene become active, resulting in the first mass generation of mutants. Confused and afraid in the chaos of the Snap, these new mutants would turn to older mutants that step up as leaders of emerging factions, and thus the original X-Men and the Brotherhood are born.
    Five years later, Hulk undoes the Blip, and the resulting wave triggers more X-gene activations, concentrated in the US due to Stark’s second Snap shortly afterwards. This causes secondary mutations in some existing mutants such as Emma Frost’s diamond form, Beast’s animalistic body, and so on, while dramatically increasing the potential mutant population with Tier 1 mutants from Stark’s Snap affecting children returning from the Blip, and Hulk’s Snap creating Tier 2 and Omega class mutants from those already active and/or in relatively close proximity to the epicenter.
    That’s how I feel you could introduce mutants to the MCU in a relatively coherent manner.

    • @alexanders7569
      @alexanders7569 2 года назад +4

      I had a similar theory. Don't need a concentration in the US though. The X-Men comics only got good when they introduced international characters and they shouldn't shy away from that.

    • @Gantros
      @Gantros 2 года назад +1

      @@alexanders7569 Narratively having a large concentration of mutants in the US, particularly around NY state would be in keeping with having NYC be the epicenter of most superhero activity, also the fact that not only one, but two Snaps occurred within an hour of each other in the same location.

    • @alexanders7569
      @alexanders7569 2 года назад

    @DRoyale1 2 года назад +28

    Well, I’m ok with mutants always being in the MCU…remember in Captain America 2, Hydra was targeting potential “dangerous” people who could pose a “threat” in the future according to Zola’s algorithm? I believe most of those so called “dangerous threats” were mutants. And they were keenly aware of the “new age of miracles” I pretty sure they meant mutants…they just weren’t legally able to say it at the time, lol.

He is right for Quantum Time Travel which I think was actually traveling to alternate Earths but if time travel is done with something like the Time Stone, or how it was done in Days of Future past then they can change the course of time. I also hope that we get it revealed that Magneto is Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's real father and their mom remarried and never told her kids because she died before she could. It could also be awesome to see Captain America free Magneto from his camp and he helps him and discovers his powers. They could also exist like the Inhumans do (assuming Agents of SHIELD is still cannon).

    I think the easiest back story would be that there have always been mutants, but there were a lot fewer of them. That being the case, the ones with benign or otherwise unrecognized (hidden) powers wouldn't have been noticed and those with demonstrable or dangerous powers would end up in programs like Weapon X or in the care of a sympathetic person or group with the means to keep them hidden, like Prof. X. Being as there would be a lot fewer of them, and that most of them would be actively trying to stay out of the public eye, of course they wouldn't really be seen in the previous MCU plots, but if the snap/blip caused the right kind of stressors to activate the X gene in the larger population, it'd make it so that there were so many mutants that they could no longer be ignored.

    @ricardocorrea6832 2 года назад +8

    How? Mutants, like Wanda for example, have always existed. Very few in numbers, living in secret. With the Blip half the population was exposed to MASSIVE amounts of cosmic radiation, radiation that has been shown to alter genetics. Suddenly there is an explosive increase in individuals manifesting powerful mutations. There you go!
    Btw the mutations due to exposure to the Infinity Stones aren’t always positive. Watch what happens to Jane Foster in Love and Thunder due to hosting one of the Stones for a while. Perfect setup over years of movies and tv shows. “Chef’s kiss”

    • @abby4115
      @abby4115 2 года назад

      Cosmic radiation OR even better, the sheer shock of seeing half of the planet's population beings snapped away triggered the x-gene on a global scale at the same time. We know mutant powers are usually triggered by high stress situations so this is perfect. We keep the essence of mutants while using events that have already happened in the MCU. We could also say the blip contributed to that and even the battle of New York. The world has experienced crazy things in a matter of less than 2 decades so it would make perfect sense for the mutant population to experience a boom at that time

    • @SeanWheeler100
      @SeanWheeler100 2 года назад +2

      It seems like people using the blip theory to introduce mutants don't seem to understand that mutants in the Marvel Universe have to be BORN with the X-Gene and that cosmic radiation mutating people wouldn't create mutants but instead make more of the enhanced humans that we've always been seeing since The Incredible Hulk.
      The Fantastic Four were mutated by cosmic radiation and they're not mutants. Spider-Man was mutated by a spider bite. He's not a mutant. Captain America was mutated by a super soldier serum. He's not a mutant. Hulk's been mutated by a gamma bomb. He's not a mutant. She-Hulk was mutated by a blood transfusion with her cousin. She's not a mutant. I think if we reduce just to the basics, there are only 3 ways to introduce the xmen:
    1. They are created in the present.
    2. They were always here.
    3. They are from an alternate universe.
    At the end, each way has pros and cons.
    For example stuff like wolverine being weapon x or magneto's past is hard to make sense with them being created now. On the other hand, if they were always here, it could have worked but it already just happened with eternals, (and in a lesser extent, the ten rings).
    Personally, i think they being from another universe is the best idea. Mutant always are an allegory of rejected parts of society: blacks, jews, gays. If they arrive to our universe, it can work as an allegory for refugees. The main problem is that "refugee allegory" is kinda what marvel is doing with skrulls (and also, the flagsmashers).

    • @abby4115
      @abby4115 2 года назад +1

      The refugee allegory doesn't work for mutants because the whole point of their oppression is that they've always been part of humanity but never accepted. Making them refugees takes that away and gives too much sense to the hatred they experience. Bigotry is in essence irrational and to try to explain it with real life paralleles is very harmful. I say this as the daughter of immigrants, born and raised in a country where the far right has been on the rise for the last decade and where we're months from a presidential election.

    Maybe it would be cool to tie it all back to the infinity stones and use the comic lore of humans, mutants, and Asgardians/gods being different ways of the celestials creating life, and you could say that humans, mutants, and Asgardians/gods were all created using the power of different infinity stones.
    So they used the Soul stone to create humans/sorcerers which is why we have the sun, the sorcery is orange, etc. Like how MT from New Rockstars talked about in his video.
    Then they used the Mind stone to create the Mutants which is why Wanda and Pietro were activated when they were experimented on by Hydra with the Mind stone. Maybe they just need contact with the Mind stone to have their X-gene activated, and now that the whole universe has been irradiated by the Mind stone twice everyone’s X-genes are activated, or at least all of the Earth based mutants.
    And then Asgardians and other gods may have been created using all of the infinity stones together which is why they’re so powerful and can manipulate the universe so much. They would’ve been created first, but the Celestials decided that they were too powerful, so they decided that from then on they would only use one stone at a time to create life. So maybe there are other types of beings created using the time/power/space/reality stones. Like the dark elves from Thor 2.

Raimi could pull it off, no question.

    Thank You for saying this. Because it has what I have been saying the whole time. They are already here and the way you explain their absence from certain events is by showing that same event from their perspective. We have gotten a example of this in Endgame with the ancient one and in Hawkeye from Kate's perspective. There is no way in hell one can explain why EVERY freaking character in Marvel comics was not at the battle of New York or at the events of Endgame. First of all that movie would be long as hell, second of all Marvel did not have the rights to every character at the time and even if they did it would not be feasible to connect EVERY character to some event in the MCU just because a certain segment of the populace is too ignorant to comprehend this and wants an explanation to every damn absence.

      i think its super easy to explain their absence but existence in the mcu. battle of ny, shield knew something was up, so only sheild folks were there. prof x could use that as his defining 'we need a team of mutants' but hadnt been established yet. nobody really knew where wakanda was in mcu timeline, and nobody knew thats where thanos would land. the way they right the plot only the people involved in its story know what is going on.
      What id like to see is like i said above, prof x visiting the wreckage of nyc and vowing to start his own team to protect the world, maybe even visiting the avengers facility POST endgame and revealing himself to them in a sort of flashback and offering assistance, basically a 'hey, invite us next time'. that way their establishing a backstory and also explaining why they werent fighting.

    This is going to be their hardest tight rope they have to walk.
    I feel no matter what they are going to disappoint some people but that’s just life.
    If it’s me and I’m running marvel I would go with an updated version of their story. The ww2 thing just doesn’t work anymore because of time. Doesn’t mean you can’t change magnetos origins though and still make them sorta on a similar path. I agree with the idea you had about an updated version of a slave labor camp. It just makes more sense to fit into a movie/show that isnt going to debut till what…2023 at the absolute earliest but even then prob later.
    I think people like us who follow channels like this don’t realize there are thousands of people out there who don’t know the comics like we do and they don’t care. They just want a good story to shove some pop corn down and wash it down with a coke.
    To say magnet is a holocaust survivor but has kept himself “youthful” this whole time just adds in more questions then answers. Who does he do it? Is there a mutant on his side that stops aging? Did he somehow steal wolverines power/blood? Etc.
    Just update the story for more modern times while clearly taking a nod from the horrible inspiration from which it came.
    That way magneto still has a huge reason to hate the human species while feeling so entrenched to his mutantkind.
    Then have them break out or escape and Eric has been hanging out at the island just waiting for the opportunity to bring mankind to his knees. It makes for a good reason why mutants didn’t get involved with thanos or ultron or New York.
    The x men wouldn’t have been formed because Charles didn’t need to oppose magneto yet so there was no hero team. Once magneto rises to power and wants to extract his revenge then you can have Charles form the x men and that’s your movie/show.
    Really there is no need to over complicate this or stretch what does and doesn’t work with the laws of time.
    Deadpool is the easiest and should just be done in dr strange 2. Just pull him from his own universe that doesn’t have to connect at all with what’s going on with MCU mutants. One of his greatest super powers is breaking the 4th wall and that’s all you need.
    He appears in dr strange 2 and just says “Jesus Christ that’s all I had to do to get into the mcu? Took fucking long enough” and that’s literally all you need from him.
    Then in his movie it’s all about playing around in this new universe like he takes a tourist trip to avengers tower, sakovia, upstate new york. The entire time he can comment about how this was his fav action scene or set piece or whatever. He literally doesn’t even really need a reason he can just have a 3rd movie and in one sentence can explain how he’s here and just move on.

You have Wolverine and Sabertooth fighting in every war for 100 years which begs to question why weren't they in Captain America: The First Avenger? Magneto should've been in that movie too because he was a child when he was held prisoner at the Nazi concentration camp. Then, you have Apocalypse building the pyramids in ancient Egypt so it makes no sense that there's no knowledge of him at all because there should be bibles and history books written about him. Plus, he should've been in the Eternals film since they would've crossed paths with him.
      Erasing people's memories of these guys will be futile since there are already videos and books documenting their existence.

    In the original comics, there have always been a very small number of mutants, but they only increased in number after nuclear testing. This is what I think is going on. I think that very few mutants have existed in the MCU - maybe as few as Prof X, Magneto, Apocalypse, Selene, Shadow King, Wolverine, Destiny and Mystique and a few others (maybe go for twelve because that’s a number with meaning in the mutant timeline) - mostly in the background, but able for a few people to turn up in period shows. And then the snap kicks things up and mutants start to appear more rapidly, and this idea that your kids could appear as mutants starts to freak people out. And then it’s like a literal thirty year arc towards millions of mutants and Krakoa etc.

    BUT if they were to do a film again, I always felt that they need to look to the films of Robert Altman, films like Gosfard Park and Short cuts, where they tackle several interesting characters intertwining with one story, step away from a linear narrative. Don't just pull focus on wolverine, go deeper into each individual character because there is so much story to every single X-man.

    I also agree that it should already start off with the X-Men originals plus the other Professor Xavier have picked up. And a source of contention between magneto and Xavier could definitely be that magneto believes that him and Professor Xavier should’ve went to the island and save those mutants but professor Xavier was trying to do a diplomatically and obviously it failed. I have to say I really like most of your ideas, especially doing a Disney+ series for a couple seasons with the 90s X-Men cartoon being a basis but changed a bit for more MCU continuity. Also could have the first season like X-Men evolution with the younger mutants like Cyclops and Jean just coming of age to fight along side the older X-Men in more local or secret operations to save mutants and keep the world unaware of their powers. Cyclops power involves using portals from other universes/dimensions, like how sorcerers use power from other universes/dimensions? Hmm, I can see a tie in already for the MCU to touch on in a season. Also could be fun to see a live action Land of the Lost, Jugernauts full story with his brother Charles, throwbacks of Wolverine and his past leading up to fighting the Omega Red, Cyclops story, Dark Phoenix and other aliens, Rogue getting her bad ass powerup, Colossus and his sister's story, Morph or Beast, so many locations and groups to visit that would be cool to see like the Morlocks or Moira's lab, Mystiques kids, so many ideas to run a show for a few seasons at least to build up some amazing characters and also do it while the actors are younger so they can make the surviving members part of the final phase. But begin it all like you said with a small team, maybe only one or two are competent at one or two tasks so they're sloppy and humorous to begin with but they grow and mature as the seasons go along and as they collect more members, until they need to have a standoff with the Avengers or Shield and have a feature movie of the fight.
    I do like the idea of the snap, blip, or the memory spell as a catalyst but my personal favorite in stealing from House of M and Wanda gets her kids by changing the universe and being manipulated by Mephisto or Nightmare. Maybe that mutants have been on earth, they just were either very quiet about existing for fear of certain groups throughout time who tried to extinguish them since Kang or Apocalypse put the fear in a cult of religious zealots like Moon Nights Harrow has under his command. Maybe that's something Hydra also practiced and they piggybacked on Nazis so they could find more mutants to study them, which is why they could have made a Cap-cicle out of a young Magneto who was later awoken when they needed someone to deal with someone who has a ton of metal in their bodies like Wolverine or the Winter Soldier but he disables the programming chip they tried to control him with. Magneto then rebels and flies to his Asteroid and begins saving mutants there, while some end up in Genosha, and the rest hide in fear of what could happen if they're found out.
    The reason I really like that House of M and the Darkhold/manipulation idea is to get the universes combined is then it's easier to bring in more supernatural characters that Mephisto or Nightmare interact with like Ghost Rider and gives more potential targets for a Midnight Sons show or movie.

    A friend of mine theorizes that We’re already in the No more mutants timeline and that this will be us finding out and reverting back to a timeline with mutants

    Archangel was always a favorite of mine & he always got portrayed very poorly on screen. It'd be awesome to see him done right!

    GREAT idea to make the X-Men into a show. The problem with every single X-Men movie, no exceptions except for maybe Logan, is that the mutant world is far too big so that no characters can be explored in depth (as you said). This leads to us not caring about anyone too much. Their villains are also way too powerful so they have to be defeated in these "gotcha" moments using the POWER OF TEAMWORK! A show would let us explore not only the X-Men but their villains as well, leading to meaningful conflicts that actually satisfy us.

    I’m so excited for what the MCU has in store for us to indulge in the near future. May can’t come soon enough to finally see what delights Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse of Madness has to offer and how it will change the MCU forever.

    I’m really excited to see the X-Men getting involved with the mainline, especially seeing Spider-Man’s interactions with them because in the comics people assume he’s a mutant very often so he gets lumped into that team, at least socially. Also some of his best superhero friends are in the X-Men (IRC)

    I think also saying that Xavier’s school has been around and teaching mutants, and that the actual X-Men team just wasn’t made until the blip or just wasn’t extremely active so nobody noticed them/thought they were any different from regular mutate superheroes like hulk or Spider-Man
