- The X-Men cinematic universe spans 13 films, and Magneto appears in all but 3 of them--that's even more movies than Wolverine. And he's not always an antagonist--many of the films show Magneto working with Xavier and the X-men to save the mutant race. The reason Magneto became such a staple in the X-universe is because, deep down-we all know that he was right.
Mutants will always be threatened by humanity, and he wanted to protect his people. Actually, his dire warnings about humans are proved true by the events of Days of the Future Past and Logan. In both films, humans have eradicated mutants through different means. This video walks us through the philosophy of Erik Lensher, his history, and shows why he's the leader the X-Men needed.

When I was a kid, I rooted for Xavier. But as an adult, I am definitely leaning more towards Magneto's ideology.

This is why I have always loved X-men... it's not a simple good guy vs bad guy.... the characters are not that simple, and some situations are deep, and that fear and anger can fester and kill millions all because of one scared thought or grab and power.
X-men as a kid taught me about this, which is necessary being raised where there is 0 diversity. That judging someone without knowing them is not only bad, but stupid. The reality that if everyone could just get along, everything would be great, but not everyone wants that... so until everyone wants it, you won't have peace. And that there will always be people on both sides of the agreement that will never have peace. Like, as long as there is an angry human that hates/fears mutants and a mutant that hates/fears a human, there will not peace until both are removed from the same space.
And then space threats to make them realize that there are bigger and much worse threats and humans are still like 'nah, we still gonna hate on all mutants' 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Something I hope that they do when Mutants are introduced to the MCU is bring up the point that all the heroes are dangerous not just Mutants. It never really made sense to me why characters like Senator Kelly and J.Jonah Jameson hate Mutants and Spider-Man when The Hulk can level an entire city.
There were hate by some people however they weren't born that way.

J Jonah Jameson never hated mutants. In fact he was always the largest critic of any of the anti-mutant laws or actions. He doesn't trust spider man only for personal reasons.
The Hulk has seen his fair share of hate and persecution. I mean in the comics he is one of the original Avengers but even them turn their backs on him, and make Captain America a founding member even tho he wasn't... But i get to your point all heroes are dangerous, not just the mutants.
It's all fun and games on hating mutants and heroes but the fun ends when thanons arrives and wants to sodomize humanity , don't let me get started on Galactus.

X-Men '97 picking up right after X-Men TAS means Magneto is currently leading the X-Men in that series. If that ends up being MCU canon, that could be super interesting heading into Phase 5.

Low-support needs is a better term for it, and is something that can fluctuate throughout our lifespans

I completely agree. It's a sad reality that jealousy, hate, and fear will never allow mutants and humans co-exist. That does not in any way excuse Magneto's methods, but he is right.

The parallels between MLK/Xavier and Malcolm X/Magneto are great. Magento even says "by any means necessary", which was a popular Malcolm X quote.

Magneto wasn't right Cable was, he said back in the 90's that if Xavier and Magneto hadn't wasted their time fighting each other, but worked together instead they would have accomplished so much more, Hickman era of the X-men is a realization of Cables statement, but with Moria Mactaggart altered from her former human identity into a mutant and given the role of the catalyst.
Xavier should have worked WITH Magneto. Xavier was actually the villain through his weakness and willingness to betray his own kind.

In the comics Magento was actually brought to trial for his crimes and is essentially (it's very convoluted in comics lol) remanded into the custody of the X-Men, Professor X almost dies and Magneto takes over the school for awhile. Originally, Chris Claremont had intended for Xavier to perish and for Magneto to replace him indefinitely but editorial wouldn't have it. I loved Magneto back when he was headmaster and love when he's written in a similar capacity, an extremist who has softened his approach but hasn't lost his edge because the world is dangerous and there really are monsters out there ready to wipe whole groups of people out if they had the power to.
He's absolutely awesome in the new X-Men run written by Johnathon Hickman and various others.
I wish Claremont would've had that.

Yes, and it's unfortunate that X-Men fans seldom consider that angle. How would any of us feel if a race of people with god-like powers were running around committing acts of terrorism and proclaiming themselves superior to humans? We'd be terrified, and rightly so.
@@RawPower867 Yes. In real life there would be kill on sight orders for a lot of mutants. In the movies the government put Magneto in a prison with guards with plastic bullets. I have a feeling in real life he'd have never made it to that jail cell. He's simply too dangerous to be left alive. Governments world-wide would be working together to figure out how to permanently take down any mutant who was a major level threat.

Also, speaking of the parallels between MLK and Malcolm. It is interesting that at the end of both of their lives, both MLK and Malcolm began to sound very similar. They both recognized the absurdity behind living separately physically but realized the necessity of a Dual Power structure for the African-American population. So, I guess in the end, they both arrived at the idea of Utopia. Too bad they didn't get a chance to build it.
Finally, some sense in the comments! Well, to be fair, I've only read a few comments so far, but I have already read some misunderstandings about MLK and Malcolm X amidst those few.
Yes! It's best just for people to be amongst their own with equal opportunities. If people want to mingle with others, then gladly take advantage of it. However, forcing people to be comfortable with people that do not make them comfortable is illogical. It's like forcing an abusive partner to stop abusing you. Just leave and be in a loving environment elsewhere.
@@11jcarter I think that's what is commonly misunderstood about them. Martin Luther King wasn't trying to force people to live together. Forced integration was only the framing in media and history, but that actually wasn't the goal. The goal was an end to the 90 year economic and political apartheid. It just so happens that the resources were in the white areas and the government made it clear they weren't going to invest in Black neighborhoods and institutions. So, allow Blacks to go to the White institutions (AKA where the resources are) so they can then build up their own institutions... but like most American potential progressions, this isn't what happened.
@@JPlaceCrooner I wasn’t referring to housing. I was referring to the integration of resources. I suggested the Marcus Garvey method of finding a place outside of America to move to to prevent anymore violence against African Americans. We needed professional and academic independence if anything.

It took me forever to get a promotion because I had to learn what made white people uncomfortable and it’s simple; me being something that they would see on the news but different. I look like the black men that are portrayed as “criminals” on tv but I’m articulate. I can’t help it but it confuses them and makes them uncomfortable. In that case, I had to work for a black man that understands me instead of trying to be understood by my potential white coworkers. In the amazing Hickman X-men run, most of the mutants, including Xavier have come around quite a bit to Magneto's perspective.
After seeing the Eternals, did anyone else get the weird feeling that the now petrified Celestial and the surrounding island might become the future site of Krakoa?
I see it more the future sight of and international Avengers considering that n the comics they have a bade called Avengers Mountain which is a dead celestial body in an massive iceberg. The movies sometimes reworked thing so could be a possibility but I see it fitting avengers more unless they tie in the X gene to the celestials and Tiamut’s emergence more directly than humans only being egg nourishment.
This are stuff that as a kid you will never understand and you only see ”the bad guy" and the good guy. After you understand you always end up sympathetising with "the villain". This made me think that if I was a mutant, I would side with magneto. Great video man!

Gotta disagree. I haven't read the comics in a long time but I remember even as a kid I thought Magneto had a point and I remember getting real angry when they turned him and his followers into generic baddies at one point where he was just out to do evil shit which is where I stopped reading. I know they've returned to the old format but I just don't have the time anymore.

Sir Ian Michellan was in a play set in a death camp. The entire play is him and another prisoner who are forced to carry heavy boulders back and forth. Literally the entire 2 hour play is two men carrying rocks and it is incredible. It's called Bent and it is so heart wrenching
Even recent comics shows that Charles understand being pacifist isn’t enough to change things around, his speech in the end of house of x/power of x gives me chills, it’s basically the mutants saying enough of this bullshit
In its conception, Prof. X was modeled after the ideology of MLK, while Magneto was modeled after the ideology of Malcolm X.
However, that has recently changed because modern comics have been heavily influenced by modern-day activists, many of which now embrace the teachings of Malcolm X over those of MLK. Their hypocrisy gets even worse when you take into consideration that most openly condemn fascism while embracing Marxist concepts & principles hidden under a veil of " race", an ideology which has killed more people that Hitler and his Nazis could ever dream of, 100 million people in roughly 150 years.

So maybe you should be comparing how many lives were lost between Marxism and reactionary rightwing movements like Nazism.
The problem is that we know better. I mean ... we don't because no one pays attention to history, but we SHOULD know better. Violence doesn't work. I'm not taking away from how great a man he was or how powerful and important his message was, but Malcom X achieved basically nothing beyond awareness and unification (which are important!). In fact him and the Black Panthers caused a resurgence of Jim Crow laws by justifying the belief that Blacks were savages coming to kill your white family.
In contrast, the voting rights bill was passed because a bunch of people in Selma did nothing while state troopers beat the crap out of (and killed a few) of them for hours.
It's the sad truth that if you want to really change something, step one is to get beaten, tossed in jail, and possibility murdered. You need to make your enemy the monster.

What about Italy, Japan, Austria, Croatia, Hungary, etc. Fascism, like Marxism, was implemented in several countries. Tally up the bodies that way.
The Sokovia accords and the Mutant registration act are basically the same thing in different movie franchises. Used to identify and control the people who are different.

Nah, dude, this ain't it. Erik's beliefs and principles are right, absolutely, but his methods are monstrous. In the very first film, he was told that his machine didn't create stable mutants out of normal humans, but corrupted their DNA and made them slowly die, but he said "fuck it" and tried to use it anyway. In X2 he went one step further and tried to exterminate the entire human race, leaving only mutants alive. Regardless of how good his motives might be, genocide is evil and wrong and never justifiable. Like you said, Stryker is just one man; is it fair or just to kill 8 billion humans because of the crimes of a single man? That just sounds like a weak justification for bigotry and extermination to me.
Perhaps you can argue that Xavier is too passive and trusting, sure, but that doesn't make Erik right by default. As in pretty much everything in life, a balanced middle path is usually the right approach. Turning to extremism because your enemies turned to extremism first is how you get Armenia and Turkey, Israel and Palestine, the Irish Troubles, Kashmir, Sri Lanka, and most of the worst things that humans have ever done.

I was crushed when Ralph/quicksilver was just a D joke. Evan peters played my second favorite X-Men, next to wolverine, I would’ve really enjoyed to see Ralph/quicksilver remember the professor or the mansion after he got the necklace ripped off or whatever in the last episode

@@GrenimanX3 yeah I’ve seen the video, there are reasonable points he pulls up, but to me it just does not work. If the MCUs next big thing is “multiverse” then they seriously dropped the ball with the Ralph reveal. Like seriously, why couldn’t marvel at least left the door slightly open? I just think it’s a big missed opportunity to tease the multiverse in a bigger way that would have soooo many people talking about. I mean shiii i at least wanted to see a slow motion scene with Evan Peters at least once in the MCU
@@clemensprod.5756 Well, for me the use of the actor at the beggining was really good for me; being used as a character that would create confusion and intrigue to wanda and us (the viewers), we had instantly recognise him as Pietro but from the Xmen movies. But then, the problem for me was the fking joke of B-O-H-N-E-R.
A lot of people were annoyed by that Bohner joke as they were annoyed with The Mandarin in Iron Man 3. They've changed that so they can change this! It's lazy writing as Deadpool would say, and he's from Fox and is now in the MCU then so are the X-Men and I think some of the great actors that were in X-Men like McAvoy and Fassbender should be brought over to the MCU, especially in the age of the Multiverse.
Magneto has always been my favourite mutant he has such good philosophys and I've always loved his ideals and his powers
I always knew that Magneto was right, but Xavier says all the things that love wants to hear....peace, acceptance, tolerance, patience. I do like Xavier, always knowing that Magneto is right.

Xavier isnt blind to humanity's propensity for violence against things they do not understand. He just realizes peace can never be obtained if both sides don't fully agree with it.
Magneto was always half right, while Xavier was always half right.
Humans ALWAYS come after mutants no matter what and cause so many atrocities and genocides. But even if Humans did stop hating or fearing mutants. Magneto STILL wants to eradicate all humans or turn them into slaves.
Luckily, they Xavier and Magneto have come to the middle on Krakoa. Magneto even admitted during the Knull invasion that he was wrong when he was creating a safe haven for some humans.
If this 2as real humans would want to kill mutants. Especially if theg could not control them. Its fear. People fear what they don't understand. Imagine having beings around mu h stronger than you and that can kill you at a moment glance if they should choose too. It would make you very uncomfortable. You will perceive them as a threat.
Magneto still believes in mutant supremacy. Only now Xavier does too, and so do the other X-Men.
As I grow in age and experience, I have observed that consistency in humans is very rare. The ego has to be kept in constant check.

I always wanted a storyline where they would allow young human students into the Xavier institute where they can grow up together and it takes a couple of generations to finally reach peace

No ones a bigger Magneto fan than me but he didn’t create utopia. Having said that. I love this video. All great points. I wonder who will play Magneto next.
He actually co-created the mutant only nation of Krakoa (Hickman!) which is the mutant dream realized. But, all beautiful things (Utopia) tend to fall apart.
One of the big reasons that would made me want to believe in Magneto's ideology is that unlike Xavier, Magneto never lets his humanity get in the way of his goals. He knows the risk of what he is doing, and the lengths he is prepared to go to achieve his goals.
Hell I think Xaiver and the X-Men failed because they let their human side get in the way. In a way quoting Green Goblin, they struggled every day to have everything they want while the world tries to make them choose. They were strong enough to have it all, yet ultimately too weak to take the opportunity. Like Xaiver could have used his powers to influence the politicians but he didn't.
Xavier doing that would be a slippery slope when using such power in such a way. I mean taking political sides would be a bad thing, how would you feel if your president became forced to do something against his will to rig the game for a foreign power? There’s no easy silver bullet when you have such great power.

Yes and no. Violence is inevitable only because it’s a super hero movie franchise, so because it’s fictional Magneto is “more” right. If it were real life, I think Xavier would be seen as more correct.
The only problem with this line of thinking is that is states segregation is better than integration. And that would apply to all cultures, subcultures, and countercultures. Unfortunately, after segregation, there is a desire for dominance. Taking good land from others. This is the violent history of humanity.

The thing is, everything Mangeto says about humans can be flipped on mutants. Yes it only takes one bad man to wipe out all mutants like Stryker, but it also takes only one bad or brainwashed powerful mutant to exterminate all humans.
The humans fear of one dangerous mutant won't differentiate and will extend to all, yet Mangetos fear of one dangerous human also to him justifies measures that extend to all
Magneto was never right, and will never be right. It is the core point of the X-Men, no matter how tragic your life experience and of those around you is, you don't turn evil. The way of the X-Men is the righteous one. Magneto is a segregationist, Xavier teaches his students that mutants are human. Xavier's dream is worth the fight more than Magneto's self serving pragmatism.
That's not to say Magneto isnt a great character, he is, absolutely, but a nuanced villain, still a villain. It's just good that we can at least understand where he's coming from and feel simpathy for the, of course.

Worse things than what happened in Logan happens in reality on a daily basis, from people doing it to other people.
Evil is strong, and they have to fight it, not join it XD. At the end of Logan (which i only care about the comics, and hardly nowadays, but Logan was a good sendoff for the great work Jackman has done, but i digress) follow the movies, so i dont know what convenient black magic writers pull to push villains as heroes, or anti heroes, which Magneto has been from time to time aswell. "Doing the hard thing, or the ugly thing"... But that's the thing, it's not hard, mutants wouldnt have a problem taking over humanity.
It's the same as, for religious people they get asked "why doesnt go prevent suffering in the world", and kinda the point is, we all have agency... The X-Men failed at figuring a way on how to prevent it, cause Magneto's way is simply unacceptable.
He isnt wrong, but his concern is just a smoke screen to takeover... That is what he truly always wanted, his daughter Wanda in house of M pretty much made him the ruler of an "utopian society" (that, he's been many times), even tho everything is an ilusion, because Magneto wants power... He would just be replacing one evil, by a different type of evil. Killed his own son out of pride in the comics.
Magneto isnt pure evil, but he is egotistical and powerhungry... And that's very much the core of hs arcs, him realizing he took things too far, or being butthurt that the X-Men won't join him in the carnage... And it's not like the X-Men themselves don't cause colossal fuckups without the help of Magneto.
But i respect your opinion, in the sense that... like civil war, it's open for debate which side is right, sometimes you lean towards cap, then you hear good arguments from the other side, and viceversa... the difference is... Cap and Ironman are both clear cut heroes, unlike Magneto. He will not hesitate to betray everyone's trust, he does it with his kids all the time, imagine those who are his enemies or he doesnt care about... Huge despot. Still a great tragic fallen type of character.

To quickly adress your points... They've experimented with mutants before Magneto was a toddler, Nathaniel Essex, his buddy buddy Mr Sinister, Weapon X... Come one... As for Mutant extinction, mutants themselves are the best at that, Wanda pretty much deleted them. The the Inhuman's terrigen mist is lethal poison to them... Mutants have faced great extinction events, and not always at the hands of hateful humans, but actual mutants.
To, close it off, you've probably read it, but if you haven't, there's a great X-Men arc, that you can find pretty much anywhere online, or any retail store that has comics, it's called "God Loves, Man Kills", not being condescending you've probably read it... but if you haven't, give it a read, might help comprehend why even tho Magneto is oftenly right, the X-Men simply cannot do things his way. Very good classic read. I hope you enjoy it if you havent read it.
I love these kind of debates. It’s really a testament to how great Magneto is that we still keep debating if he’s good or evil. Personally I can’t agree with his actions, he’s got a good motivation but he’s goes way too far and genocide is wrong, full stop. But I can’t bring myself to call him evil.
If Infinity War and Endgame had us arguing for years if Thanos was right about overpopulation, proving Magneto is right about a single activist cause that literally means "I want to protect my people." will be the easiest thing Marvel has ever done. I can't wait for the MCU's take on the X-Men.

The true Peace for humans and mutants are seperation. I wish they would highlight it if will be a part of the MCU
Violence is part of politics. It always has been. Either to oppress or to defend. What liberalism (in a political theory way of understanding the term) has done is think you can always out reason, out talk, and out morality (?) others using violence by using words. Reality is sometimes violent, whether we like it or not. Magneto has always been a rational political actor who understands people don't always want to talk and reason (Prof. X) when their very existence is in peril. Magneto's viewpoint was always right even if his specific methods weren't.
The problem is most violence stems from a fear or imbalance real or perceived. Neither Xavier or Magneto understood they have the resources to eliminate those stressors. Mutants literally break thermodynamic laws. They have a skill that can literally solve all the worlds problems, but neither leader can see beyond capitulation or domination. Nobody dealing with the plain human/mutant human divide sees that.
All the Mutants have to do is BUY cooperation. Not sell it.
Charles and Magneto were both wrong. Magneto's past was beneficial but also what clouded his judgement a lot of times. Xavier on the other hand as you've mentioned was attempting to juggle the line of keeping with against some people who don't want peace.

I always hoped for peace, but so many humans prove Magneto right. Especially those in power. I would support the registration if mutants were not blatantly oppressed and brutalized. Everyone is not Sabretooth, if they had some nuance there could be peace.
Love your work but not this theory. Violence begets violence, and Magneto was just a racist and cruel from the side of the victims. Methods not justified, which your disclaimer at the end doesn't course correct.

Imagine if the mutants are introduced to the MCU as characters that have already been alive for a long time and had their experiences and battles that we know of, but have been living in hiding on Krakoa and have used Xavier's power or a similar one by someone else to erase humanity's memories of mutantkind. Then maybe they start having some inner disputes for power which causes them to be noticed by the outside world. Or some spike of energy caused by some mutant's power. SHIELD, or SWORD, I guess, goes to investigate, some mutants want to go the diplomatic way, others want to just use their combined powers to redirect SWORD's attention elsewhere somehow and keep Krakoa hidden, but some saboteur/traitor decides to attack preemptively or there's a misfire, SWORD gets hit and decides to retaliate, maybe even requesting the aid of their own superpowered heroes. And of course, all the while, there have been some mutants living outside of Krakoa who could keep their powers a secret, but with so many superpowered beings coming to the spotlight and being generally accepted, some start thinking maybe its time for mutants to return to their original homes, because they should at least have the freedom to choose that for themselves.

Magneto was right in both timelines. In the first timeline, sentinels wiped out mutants and in the second timeline, Alkali-Transigen's gene therapy wiped out mutants.
Seeing as this started as an allegory for racial tensions during the civil rights movement with Xavier being MLK and Magneto being being Malcolm X, I wonder how this might reflect on the real world. Are we truly doomed to not be able to coexist with one another? I for one want the core dream of Xavier to be true.
After Xmen First Class, I also believed that Magneto was and is right. Humans being humans, whether in fiction or reality, war is sadly inevitable. 😔
Both are important, people like Xavier make humanity better. Push everyone to be better. To be good. Magneto sees the world as it is. And protects his kind from it the best he can. Both are important. One for survival, the other for hope.

Well said! Every box that needed to be checked you checked it and with efficiency and insight. I grew up reading comic books I love them till this day because of the great storytelling. Yes I agree magneto was right. There's no such thing as utopia everyone's tried to create it and it's never worked.

As a Jew, I love Magneto's character because I certainly relate. We had a real life comparable enmity between two modern Jewish leaders in Israel, one was Prime Minister David Ben Gurion, who led the Hagganah and preferred a peaceful diplomatic approach with the British and Arab people. Then we had Menachem Begin , a Holocaust Survivor and leader of the Irgun, who was certainly more aggressive and attacked civilian targets. One wanted Jewish independence by diplomacy and coexistence, the other wanted Jewish independence by any means necessary, both wanted the same dream, but disagreed on how to achieve it. As much as I admire and wish Professor X's approach would work, my experience as a Jew tells me the rest of humanity will never truly accept us, always a catch, always a price, we can never just live peacefully in our own homeland. So we're forced to fight and survive, by any means necessary. So yes, I believe Magneto was right, because I believe Begin was right. Just a real life perspective from a Marvel fan.
Interesting perspective, I read somewhere Stan the G.O.A.T modeled Magneto after Malcolm X and Xavier after Martin Luther King Jr. He took their ideals, the war against races and created the Xmen comics. Perhaps Magneto was indeed right in the end, many people however believe that in the only thing they were right about is that mutants will always be hunted......

The thing that made LOGAN the greatest tragedy in comic book movies, is that everything ended not with a bang. No deities, no giant robots or lizard women, or world ending events. And the down fall of Charles Xavier and his x men was caused not by aliens or cosmic beings, but the one thing none of us can escape; time.

Magneto's rationale is inherently flawed. The nazis viewed the Jews as inferior and wished to commit genocide. Although Magneto did have valid reasons, he also believed humans as inferior and wished to commit genocide against them as well.
If Magneto were to accomplish his objective it would hurt mutants in the end. Mutants are already far more evolved than humans and very powerful mutants like jean grey, professor x, etc adding to the gene pool would only make more and more powerful mutants overtime. The mutants would be then norm and then they would mutate further into more powerful beings and the whole genocide argument would come up again.
Although Professor X is extremely ineffective, it makes more sense in the long term. Overtime the mutant population would overtake the human population naturally anyways and with cohesion the world could ethically benefit off of mutants enhanced abilities. When the time came that the mutants were to be replaced by another more evolved being it would strengthen the argument of just increasing cohesion until mutated assimilation as they had done before rather than genocide.
TLDR
Magneto's plan only makes sense until mutants evolve again and try to kill them too.

Magneto wasn't right. His actions ensured that his prophecy came about. It's like someone saying "I'm going to die from lung cancer" and then proceeding to spend 20 years smoking cigarettes.
He always escalated, and his escalations tended to the "kill 1000+ humans" level.
He's flawed, as is anyone who experienced the horrors which he has. The difference is that he has the power to fight back. It would be inconceivable to him to allow history to repeat itself. Still, as my grandmother used to say, " an eye for an eye leaves both sides blind". Is he right? Yes. Is he justified? History is on his side. Is he making things worse? Also yes. Tough call.

In the first movie, his response to proposed legislation is the murder of all the world's leaders.
In the second movie, the big-bad goes off the deep end and tries to kill all mutants. His response? Kill all the non-mutants.
In the third movie, he loses a fight and his response? Destroy the planet. He even regrets it with a "what have I done".
At no point does he seek peaceful coexistence. He doesn't even seek it with others of his "group".
He's the guy who when skipped for promotion blows up the building under the belief that if everyone else is dead they'll just _have_ to give him the promotion.
I would argue that if Magneto didn't exist, the dark future in Days of Future Past would never have happened.
@@jasonpollock1054 he didn't try to murder the world's leaders, his plan was to turn them into mutants, to force them to see things from his perspective. Everything else he did was in response to perceived threats to his people. Having seen how humanity reacts to those they see as different, he's unwilling to trust them. He's determined to never be a victim again, and tends to react violently to any threat. And when Stryker , Trask and the government prove him right, he's willing to go to any lengths to defend his people. From his perspective, he is justified, and considering that they wanted to eliminate not just him but all mutants, I can't definitively say he's wrong. His origins make him a flawed and twisted human being, but like all of us, he sees himself as the hero, fighting against injustice to save his fellow mutants. If he'd been successful, history would call him a hero, because history is written by the victors.
@@carloscrecelius9597 except it became murder when the X-Men informed him of the senator's death. Before that it still would have been murder because of the murders on the way in. There is no way to frame his actions as justified.
Magneto was always right. Peace is only achievable by being too powerful to attack.
If Magneto had not been to prejudice about humans he would also helped the humans whom accepted their mutant relatives/friends/lovers as well as making Genosha a secret country for them to live on.
