INSPIRING young woman born with a facial tumour making it hard to speak is beating the bullies on RUclips - by singing. Many talented performers turn to RUclips to express themselves, but among the Adele covers and earnest acoustic versions of indie classics, Courtney Blackmore cuts a unique figure. Born with cystic hygroma - an extremely rare condition that causes growths in the chin and neck - the 20-year-old sends a message of defiance to bullies every time she hits ‘upload’. Courtney, who lives in Sonora, California had to have years of speech and language therapy as her tumour is so large that it prevents her from closing her mouth. Yet despite this, Courtney has a pitch-perfect singing voice and has amassed a legion of fans online because of her beautiful voice.

I have a tumor in my right cheek. I've had surgerys since I was five so mine isn't the worst. But it's still noticeable for sure. I would just like to say that this girl is so strong. She is so beautiful and has such a positive attitude. It pains me that people bully people for something they can't change. From experiences I know that when people stare or point or laugh, it's heartbreaking. It makes you want to cry. This girl is amazing for looking past all the haters and living a good life :) proud of her :)

I just saw your life story on TLC. I admire your vitality and joy! I am also very happy that you have found a life partner. I think it's better not to be alone! I am unfortunately since 1998! My daughter (born in 1997) was born with an open stomach and a very serious heart defect, which was already diagnosed by birth!
I myself also have fibromyalgia like you, then herniated discs, 3 whiplashes and because of my overweight (at that time 116.9 kg) a gastric band and a gastric bypass. Today I still weigh 68 kg.
Due to the fact that I am a pain patient, I need several pain medications per day and some supplements because of gastric bypass and intestinal shortening. In addition, I still have to take blood thinning tablets (for life) because I had a thigh thrombosis
I could sympathize when you mentioned the pain of the fybromialgia.
I do not know if everything is spelled correctly because I write with the Google translator. I speak Swiss German and High German as I come from Switzerland from Dübendorf near Zurich.

I despise bullies. Courtney you're awesome. For far too long our world has been tolerant toward the bullying nature. As a child, I was always bullied especially by my own Father. I am adamantly an animal activist. Can you believe the number of people out there who murder animals and then brag about it like it's something to be proud of? I finally woke up. There are also the psychological bullies who play mind games because they think that makes them smart. Those are the most dangerous people on the planet. They smile in your face and then say horrible things about you behind your back. They are always trying to trap others. Those kind of people are absolutely disgusting.
