    I was just going to order the M18 dedicated hedge trimmer. Now I will recalculate and either get the attachment or some other battery operated brand, maybe the Sthil.

    Are you still able to use the articulating hedge trimmer with the extended section (back to original extended length) or is the connection modified?

    I use Husqvarna predominantly, with a few Stihl in the mix. When it comes to a combi system, I use the Husqvarna 535LK pro combi, it's a absolute beast, and will deal with almost anything. It is a bit pricey, but worth every penny!

    @LawnRush: How did you take apart the powerhead and remove the quick attachment to shorten the hedge trimmer?

    • @yorselrus1996
      @yorselrus1996 2 года назад +1

      Its not hard to do. You just remove the shaft from the hedger and power. Then attach the hedger straight to the power head. I will have to try it with the pole saw next.

    Red Max website seems to be indicating that articulated head is only available complete with power-unit (bummer gas) as LRTZ230. Is the head only available elsewhere?
    I'm not married to Red Max, but I AM totally over sharpening hedge-trimmer blades...so if there are other premium (hardened, as you mentioned) articulated hedge-trimmer heads out there, especially compatible with battery systems, I'm all ears.

    Buy a new or used tube, shorten it a bit and have a person with a lathe make you a transition piece.
    You might retain strength then and be able to use your favourite tool.

      This is the best, quickest solution. Ask the machine shop for an estimate on multiples, as it's often much cheaper per part if you get several as they can do 10 without much more time involved that a single since they would have the same setup for all 10 parts. Then you could offer a few for sale to recoup your cost and make a little $.

    good info, thumbs up from me... i'm still waiting for a sale as i dont understand home depots pricing. hedge trimmer is $149, edger is $99, but the combo is over $280? makes no sense. i think a combo price should be $199 or better. compared to others on the market i think $149 for both could be the right price (for the attachments).

    The 9.0AH you are using is a "high demand" battery and the 12.0AH is "high output" the 12.0 should be more powerfull, did you notice a difference? There are also 3.0 5.5 and 8.0AH high output batteries

      The Milwaukee stuff is definitely built off of the old gas stuff. They have similar parts. Seems to be red max / Husqvarna. I don't know if you can switch it though.

      @@lawnrush3098 you could try to fine a homing tool for the perfect size, but honesty its the shaft on the inside that matters, exterior is just the support. I'd imagine just reaming the pipe with a metal bit would be sufficient, as its measurements aren't as critical as the "drive shaft"
