Cut-Rate Commander - Precon Upgrade Guide for Bedecked Brokers & Perrie, the Pulverizer from Streets of New Capenna #MTG #mtgCapenna #edh #commander
The ex-boxer turned Brokers enforcer is taking time off from dispensing justice and instead helming our last precon upgrade from Streets of New Capenna, where he'll be using a arsenal of unique tokens to power up himself and his allies into unstoppable juggernauts.
In this upgraded build, we’ll be improving on the base build admittedly already impressive selection of unique counter and counter distribution to enable Perrie to hit even harder and make him as resilient as possible while doing so. Of course, that means we’ll be running more unique counter types than you could swing a gavel at to power up Perrie (or any one of our other creatures instead), as well as good old +1/+1 counters to the general stat boost that provide, alongside plenty of counter payoffs, ways to move counter, and proliferate them - ensuring that Perrie becomes a hard hitting, tough as nails enforcer that can crack our opponents creatures skulls along with their life totals. Force justice of course!

I really like how you have organized and delivered the upgrades to the precons. Going to be no shortage of those going forward with wizards pumping them out every set.

I played with this deck for the first time the other day. I was shocked by how fun it was. The counters get super confusing, but powering up Perry was super satisfying. Great video!

I'm exited to try some of these archetypes out once I've refined my Kynais and Tiro Goad deck using a lot of tools from this new set (Kros and Kit Kanto seem like fun and Phabine feel more at-home than Selvala ever did)!

Can't wait for you to hit 5k next! Well deserved. I think my vote for next commander has to go to Ognis. Treasure creation with haste tribal just seems fun. Though Rigo is really cool too ((if you somehow made either of these mono colored decks that'd be very silly))
Here's hoping that the channel reaches 5k soon too and thanks for the support you've given the channel to help us get to this point! Ognis is quite an interesting commander with her haste/treasure playstyle and at the rate the poll is going, you may just see a build featuring her soon!
Love your videos. The upgraded version looks really solid, but I'd be afraid to keep track of all these counters in a paper game.
Glad you enjoyed it! In testing it was hard to keep track over everything as well - I even ran out of different counters to represent the unique counter types - so it ended up just being a bunch of dice instead. Fun to play, but a but messy on the table for sure!

Great video. You get right down to the nitty gritty and you don't bait and switch. Some videos show the face commander and then talk about a different commander in the precon - so annoying. I have a lot of the cards in the upgrade, so it only ended up costing me $22. My Tome of Legends has been sitting in a binder since the day I opened it in a pack.

Really like that you upped the budget to 75 on these. If i could have a choice i would have a 100 dollar brew in 1 video and a 200 dollar brew in the next video (doesn't need to be the same commander).
Glad you enjoyed the increased budget - I would have liked to have kept it at $65 but with the price increase for the precons I really didn't have a choice if I wanted to keep it at the same quality as before. Still, higher price budgets may be worth considering in the future.

Day 274 of waiting for the face reveal. Say, now that the Warhammer decks are marching ever closer, what are your thoughts on them so far? I am still sad there are no Tau or Salamanders, but still kinda hype.

I am a 40k fan but was disappointed that Orks didn't get a deck featuring them. The secret layer release for them is a nice consolation prize though - we'll just have to see what it has.

Glad you like it! Hamza, Guardian of Arashin is a cool +1/+1 counter build, but Perrie definitely increasing the skill ceiling with all the stuff he wants to do with counters to get the most out of him - which is a bit more fun in my opinion.
While certainly fun to play, I can see the board getting really messy on the kitchen table XD This one of those decks I would probably play online rather than live

I wish that keeping track of all of these keyword counters wasn't such a pain!
Yep, that would be the one downside to the deck. Getting custom counters for each kind would make it easier but it would still be really finicky to keep track of everything.
Do you plan on making any decks based around the demon leaders of this set? I already have my vote for That aint Falco 🦅 Spara.
Maybe in the next few weeks - won't have too much time before Commander Legends 2 drops so I'll have to do it soon if I'm going to do it at all.
