The Bullies are rather interesting. Sure you could go full tilt into the bad gifts strategy with lots of stuff like Leveler, Inverter of Truth, etc. but that would likely get you focused down too quickly and earn a lot of bad will. I really like the idea of being able to politick by saying "hey would you like a Pathrazer of Ulamog to help you out? Yes? Well today's your lucky day!"
Better late than never - Welcome! And yeah, this one is one of my meaner builds but, in my defense, The Beamtown Bullies are inherently a mean commander, so I figured I may as well lean into it.
Really mean deck and on such an affordable budget! We've had 2 riveters in a row so my vote will be for Raffine. Seems like it could be cool with cycle effects as well
Glad you enjoyed the build and thanks for voting! Raffine seems to be holding on to a slim lead (least I checked) so you may just get to see a build featuring him soon!
Yet another stellar list. I think more than half the decks I'm playing these days are either your designs, or slightly tweaked versions of your decks. This one really scares me and I thought the Horror deck was nightmare enough. Oh, really digging the punwork as well; sometimes I'll fast forward a bit right to the quips before really digging into the content
Thanks for he kind words and thanks for the support as well! With a dedicated fans like yourself, I'm sure the channel will get the following it deserves in time. Meanwhile, I'll just keep making the content that I love!
I feel like this commander illustrates a bit too on the nose on how people tend to enjoy bullying significantly more than they enjoy being bullied... Who hurt you Beamtown Bullies? Who hurt you?
There are already a tone of deck techs on Jetmir, but would love to see your take on him. But at the same time would not be upset to see Raffine win out.
Despotic Scepter and Seedborn Muse are two cards I'd recommend for this deck! I'm also thinking about playing Hermit Druid with about 3 to 5 basic lands in the deck
Despotic Scepter is a great addition to get our creatures back in the bin for no mana cost and Seedborn Muse is useful as always thanks to its mass untap every turn (though it will likely eat more removal than even our commander!) make them both every solid upgrades if you have the budget. Hermit Druid I'm less keen about, since I rather have more precise forms of graveyard setup but it certainly does work - so if you like it, by all means run it!
I think a key to this deck is not to overextend your graveyard full of creatures because one Bojuka Bog; or any type of graveyard hate can send you back to the Stone Age.
I like breaker of armies. It’s a one sided board wipe a lot of the times which can also die on board being blocked when an opponent has heavy creatures, not needing a kill spell
I agree, its forced block and massive stat-line make it an ideal card to give to someone else, have them devastate another opponents board and hopefully get it back to the bin since it died in combat. It would have made the build but the top end was getting kind of full, so it ended on the cutting room floor... Still, if you want to swap out one of our other 8 drops for it, I can see it performing very well here!
How does Flayer of the Hatebound work when we gift our creatures to our opponents? Does the player choose which target the creature does the damage or do we choose, since Flayer says that creature deals damage equal to its power to any target?
It would be fun to vote on a "Friends forever" (partner) commanders pair for a video. Seeing as they are not only in the secret lair anymore. Maybe Cecily, Haunted Mage and Othelm, Sigardian Outcast?
Some other folks are already asking for these in future polls too, so we may just need to see if we can squeeze these in for a future poll. Stay tuned!
Would anyone consider adding Impetuous Devils? 6/1 trample haste that let's an opponent target a creature to block and sacs itself at the end step? Seems like a good repeatable form of removal but I think I might be over valuing it.
I can see it being added as pseudo-removal because of the forced blocking but the sacing itself on then step is not really relevant, since our opponent can stack the end of turn triggers so that the exile happens first and we don't get our creature back tot he bin. Still, I can see this being a playable addition and one that didn't really come to mind when putting the build together, so thanks for pointing it out!
I cant wait till i get this deck completed. Its playable now but i dont have a lot of the better "bad" creatures. Edit: finished it, played 3 games today lost 2 won 1. But OMG is this deck fun to pilot regardless. 10/10 would highly recommend beamtown bullies
Lukka, Coppercoat Outcast doesn't really do a whole lot for us, since it would bring the creature into play under our control, which would not want since they have very bad ETB effects. He's good in polymorph style builds however.
Your mana base is wrong: not counting the creatures you want to give to your opponent, you're at 34 black mana, 14 green and 18 red; While your lands are at 12 black, 16 green, 13 red (& 4 any color). And you forgot the Tempting Wurm! (I would remove the ox of agonax to make this deck even more budget friendly)
The mana base is actually intentional, as the overwhelming majority of our ramp is in green, making it much more important to see green early to ramp and fix our mana, after which there shouldn't be any issues fixing our colors. And Tempting Wurm was included in the upgrades as well (since sadly its $10 price count make the base build).
For ramp, probably Myriad landscape since its cheap, generic land based ramp that can go into any build. For utility, Ghost Quarter (which sadly didn't make the 3 color builds since we needed the fixing more).
Damn. The sheer amount of abuse this bad boy can produce... I haven't even began testing, holy shit. You have done an amazing job, definitely surpassing Jimmy Wong in that regard. As for my vote... well, I am in the mood for warcrimes. Let's have Xander do half of each. I mean, what better follow-up to abuse by bullies than atrocities by their boss? Day 280 of waiting for Grazzet's face reveal. If you could play at a Game Knights episode with no deck limitations, what deck would you play? I would play my Ishai/Jeska build, ready to kill someone the instant everyone bumps my birdy boi to at least 7 power.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the support as always as well as for voting! That is a good question. If I had to take the gloves off and build with no restrictions - Dina, Soul Steeper would likely be the build that I would go with that I featured on the channel (with some of the upgrades), since its a build that can simultaneously hurt the table while keeping itself alive with surprising efficiency.
A lot of cheap good cards to donate to opponents' shot up in price due to being featured in game knights. I hope some day your videos affect the card market. Lol.
Tell me about it - Bronze Bombshell and Boldwyr Heavyweights when from being nearly worthless to close to $10 and over almost overnight because of this commander. Goes to show just how much influence they have in our format.
Let me know in the comments below what commanders you want to see in future polls from Streets of New Capenna!

Late to the party here, I just found your channel. The pure evil in this list is so spicy. Great stuff

I’ve used your videos on gimbal, and Stella Lee so far. Now that I’m interested in making another deck, it’s only fitting I go back to you!

This is so fun. Unsolicited deck picks tribal is what i'm calling it. Good stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it! I would not have though to call it Unsolicited Deck Picks Tribal, but yeah it fits the description of the deck quite well!
Just have to say your severely underrated channel much love bro

Great video, I love your build guides and explication of how it all works. My vote is for Raffine.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for voting!
great deck! The bullies are absolutely obnoxious to play against and fun to play ourselves. The number of destruction they can cause..hilarious
I feel like this commander illustrates a bit too on the nose on how people tend to enjoy bullying significantly more than they enjoy being bullied... Who hurt you Beamtown Bullies? Who hurt you?
This deck is insane!
Glad you think so!

Lots of choices in the polls this time around - we'll just have to wait and see which of the Families heads will come out on top!

Very mean but quite effective and hilarious
Yeah, you really have to set the expectation at the table when your running the Bullies - since they certainly earn their name.
How does Flayer of the Hatebound work when we gift our creatures to our opponents? Does the player choose which target the creature does the damage or do we choose, since Flayer says that creature deals damage equal to its power to any target?
I was laughing the entire way through this I must make this. It’s so vile
I'm glad you enjoyed it (and slightly concerned about the creation that I have unleashed on this world....)!
It would be fun to vote on a "Friends forever" (partner) commanders pair for a video. Seeing as they are not only in the secret lair anymore. Maybe Cecily, Haunted Mage and Othelm, Sigardian Outcast?

@@GrazzetMTG hoping to get more commander goodness in the upcoming commander legends 2 electric boogaloo.
Do you also have a upgraded version of Beam Town Bullies for mid-range?
I think this will be the second of your creations I will build
Hope it works well for you and that your friends don't hold a grudge (because this deck is MEAN)!
Also think about adding curses?
whoa... this is so mean!
Yeah.... This is one of the meaner builds I have put together and it is brutal to play against.

Hey you think you could tell me what cards you would swap out for upgrades? Would appreciate it❤
Sure - see below for my recommendations:
Electric Revelation >>> Buried Alive
Hunted Wumpus >>> Bronze Bombshell
Enslaved Horror >>> Phyrexian Negator
Sinister Concoction >>> Tempting Wurm
Caldera Hellion >>> Boldwyr Heavyweights
Crater Hellion >>> Hellcarver Demon
Oriq Loremage >>> Entomb
Hope that helps!
Thank you much!

Leveler
I loved the bullies the moment they were spoiled. For when you wanna play jund and demand your opponents play jund as well.
I suspect that will not enjoy playing it as much as we do though - consider our creatures don't hurt us as much as theirs will hurt them.
What about lukka planes walker
Lukka, Coppercoat Outcast doesn't really do a whole lot for us, since it would bring the creature into play under our control, which would not want since they have very bad ETB effects. He's good in polymorph style builds however.
I like salt so i vote for xander. But either way, all of them are good commanders.
Thanks for voting and glad to hear you're enjoying these weeks commander selection!
Dammit I was gonna buy eater of days for my lazav the multifarious deck, curse you Beamtown bullies for raising card prices! 😤
At least its not as bad as Boldwyr Heavyweights or Tempting Wurm at least! Those prices skyrocketed!
