If you got the budget put sundial of the infinite in the deck. That way you wait for the triggers then end the turn. That way you keep your vehicles on board.
Really nice deck check. I like it when a commander is really doing something and not just being there to be the color identity and this reanimate theme makes it even more special. Your choice of cards is pretty solid and I really am thinking about building Greasefang with some of your ideas. What makes Greasefang so interesting overall is that vehicles come with almost every set but not in a dimension where you have to change your whole deck because of too many new cards. As always, respect to you and your work.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I agree, when a commander really feel like the deck is theirs and they are a crucial piece in it, it makes the deck itself feel more unique.
Syrix, Carrier of the Flame in a phoenix/undying style build seems like a fun concept - especially sine its giving some love to an archetype that's been missing a proper commander (That's not Morophon of course)!
Awesome! I’ve scavenged my Buckle Up precon for blue artifacts for a Reality Chip deck, leaving me with a great core to try this out. Appreciate you Grazzet! Your vids keep me company while I drive
Hasty Creatures and slow treasure make for an interesting combination, but with all the treasure support that Gruul got in this set, I can see that this commander has some serious potential!
That $3.81 price tag on Deadly Dispute just floors me. It's a common for goodness sakes! The Beamtown Bullies is my top pick for New Capenna commanders. It would be a shame if someone drove a Leveler through that library of yours...😈
Yeah, Deadly Dispute has really spiked in price for sure! The Beamtown Bullies certainly to bring some very mean spirited shenanigan's to the table, with Leveler (as you mentioned) and Eater of Days being prime examples of the bad stuff we can gift to our opponents.
Just tried this deck out today and its amazing. I had one scary first hand. I played a land into a sol ring into a key to the city, turn 2 I played a land and summoned Greasefang and with key to the city discarded Aradara Express, on combat brought it back and crewed it with Greasefang and since it gains haste I could attack right away, after that I kept drawing cards from key to the city on upkeep using sol ring to pay and just kept playing lands and using them for other spells. The deck was extremely fun to play.
All good suggestions, though Giada is climbing in price - so we may have to skip her for now - though I would love to do angel tribal with her helming the build!
All of the sadness to not have Hinata get a deck breakdown...but a lot of the others did. Let's grease the wheels and prepare for the Mob and Gang warfare
I found that Braids Cabal minion would be a really good creature to add to this deck. She forces each player to sac an artifact, creature, or land at there upkeep.
Sadly Braids, Cabal Minion is banned in our format (that passive ability is a bit too nasty) but if you're looking for a similar effect - Braids, Arisen Nightmare lets us sac our vehicles on our end-step for Greasefang to reanimate on the following turn while forcing our opponents to sac either sac an artifact / creature or let us draw instead - making her a great source of disruption, graveyard setup, and card advantage.
I like the addition of Pack Rat! Black Devotion was such a crazy time in Standard, but none of the cards saw play in other formats, other than Thoughtseize.
Fair - sadly lots of cards drop off the face of the earth after they rotate our of standard, so its nice to see them crop up every now and again in other formats.
Really looking forward to playing this deck! I was planning on including some things and was wondering what you think I should swap them for? Brilliant Restoration Reaver Titan Teleportation Circle Imotekh the Stormlord Knight Paladin I have a couple ideas but I'd love to hear what you think!
Would recommend Pain Seer for this list! Every time it untaps it's basically a Keen Duelist/Dark Confidant, which is easy to do every turn thanks to Crew!
I personally like Pain Seer in more lower to the ground builds to not take too much damage from high cmc spells, but if you like to take risks I can see it fitting well in this build! At least Greasefang would approve!
Some advice I have for improving the channel: more variety in videos. Deck techs are okay but they are only really useful to a specific subset of people--looking to build a specific commander on a specific budget. I think if you made a couple videos like 'how I build, test, and refine a budget edh deck' or 'making a strong mana base in EDH on a budget' that would pull a lot more people in. Just a thought though. If you keep doing budget deck techs i'll keep watching.
I'm always open to more varied content but with only so much time available getting new kinds of video's out may take some time. May be something to keep on the backburner through. Thanks for your input!
I love Armix as a discard and both removal in this deck. Kinda cheap too . If you have the budget for it, Sundial of the Infinite or Teleportation are fun option to keep the vehicle on the field I would love to see either Raffine, Scheming Seer or Jolene, Plunder Queen
I tested with Armix but he never seemed to do enough for me, sicne he didn't usually get attacks in (usually crewing vehicles instead). But Sundial of the Infinite and Teleportation Circle wpuld both make fine additions(both were suggested as upgrades). Connive Raffine or Treasure Jolene both seem like fun builds too!
@@GrazzetMTG Yeah I was not using it to crew in my case , so maybe it was different in my testing. And sorry I probably stopped the video before the upgrade :( I'M so sorry and bad :( I played against a Jolene deck online (guy proxied it) and it did offer a fun dynamic to the game while being still able to pack a punch. Only problem I could see with Raffine is the treasures producers, enhancers arent that cheap
Glad to hear you enjoyed the build! Jaxis would make for an interest commander with her agility to make temporary, effectively blitzed copies of creatures already in play. Somewhat similar to Feldon of the Third Path, but cares about creatures on the field rather than the graveyard. Seems like quite the interesting build around!
You are correct - Swarmyard would make a very solid include (considering how important keeping Greasefang alive is to the decks gameplan) - but sadly its $5 price tag was to much to get it in under budget. Still, if you have one already or don't mind spending a few more bucks, it would make for a another great way to keep Greasefang alive.
@@GrazzetMTG I didn't know, that swamyard is so expansive. But I live in Germany and the price tags are not so high here. I think you can get that card for 2,50€ here
Well, I'm working on the precon upgrade for Riverteer Rampage now so you may get your wish soon on that front. Plus there are a few other solid members in the core set that will undoubtable make their way to the polls soon, so keep an eye out!
And now EDH will endure the bullying that Standard endured! Only thing left to find out is how many times I can abuse Parhelion with the stinky rat in testing... great job as always! As for New Capenna commanders... well, I did mention the Cat&Dog lady whose name I can't remember for some reason last time, so perhaps a second option should be a good thing to have. And for me that would be... Xander, The Collector. I wanna see some torture on a budget, after all. Day 256 of waiting for the GrazzetMTG face reveal. Say, what would your dream MTG plane look like? Mine would probably be a magical version of Mesopotamia with some Eldrazi and Phyrexia sprinkled in at random.
Glad you enjoyed the build and thanks for the support as usual! The latest retrun to Kamigaw was as close I'll probably get to my dream magic plane. I very much enjoyed the aesthetics of the high tech and traditional japanese inspired world it gave us.
If you get around to the uncommon commanders this time around, I need a build based on The Boulder. Legitimately doesn't even need to be good. I just need an Avatar reference.
The Boulder approves of your suggestion and is not conflicted at all! But seriously, Mr. Orfeo, the Boulder is a pretty simple but effective commander for Jund Stompy, so I can see him as a pretty solid commander.
Okiba Reckoner Raid, High-Speed Hoverbike, Fleetwheel Cruiser, and Ovalchase Dragster would be good places to start if you're looking to make some upgrades. Hope that helps!
Your opponents probably won't be laughing for long after they take 13 damage to the face from the Parhelion II and the 2 Angels it creates though. Laugh at Greasefang at your own peril!
I initially but them in but they were removed since they didn't really do enough for the build (since we didn't really have too many payoffs that cared about artifacts outside of vehicles). Still, if you have them already or want to add them in, they can serve as additional targets for our artifact sac effects if we need them to be.
Let me know in the comments below what commanders from Streets of New Capenna you folks want to see in upcoming polls!
If you got the budget put sundial of the infinite in the deck. That way you wait for the triggers then end the turn. That way you keep your vehicles on board.
Good suggestion! Didn't quite have the budget for it in the base build but it was included in the upgrades since it can do just that.
Really nice deck check. I like it when a commander is really doing something and not just being there to be the color identity and this reanimate theme makes it even more special. Reever Titan is a fun vehicle to combo with Greasefang and Aeronaut Admiral
I'd love to see your take on Syrix, Carrier of the Flame! It's the first legendary Phoenix in Magic's history.
Syrix, Carrier of the Flame in a phoenix/undying style build seems like a fun concept - especially sine its giving some love to an archetype that's been missing a proper commander (That's not Morophon of course)!
I love the idea of Teshar, Ancestors Apostle. Casting a historic can revive a lot of the creatures here, including our conmander.
I love me some rats of rath. Always an effective way to put vehicles back into the graveyard.
Awesome! I’ve scavenged my Buckle Up precon for blue artifacts for a Reality Chip deck, leaving me with a great core to try this out. Appreciate you Grazzet! Your vids keep me company while I drive
Would love to see your budget take on Ognis, the Dragon's Lash.
Hasty Creatures and slow treasure make for an interesting combination, but with all the treasure support that Gruul got in this set, I can see that this commander has some serious potential!

Just decided I wanted to build Grease. Happy to find a video of yours on the card.
Glad you enjoyed it and I hope that it was helpful!

We may have a chance to tackle her in the future if we start tackling older commanders, so don't lose hope just yet!
Great build, seems fun

My vote for the first New Capenna commander is Queza, Augur Agonies. She’s a perfect budget command!
She's getting a lot of love from the comments, so we may see her the a future poll soon!

Queza, Augur of Agonies for next deck please
Lots of Folks seem to be asking for her - so she seems like a frontrunner for the polls once we wrap up the precons.
Nice biker rat deck! I'd like to ask for a decktech on Jaxis, The Troublemaker!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the build!

Was just thinking about making a vehicle deck. Just pulled go this creature last night in a trade
Hope this helps get the idea's flowing for you then!
I think swarmyard is an absolute autoinclude in this Deck to save our Commander in more then one incidents

Glad you think so!

You should do cormela from streets of new capenna she has some cheap combos you could put in
She is certainly an interesting spell slinging commander - could be fun to build around!
@@GrazzetMTG I’m working I’m a build for it now it likes promising
If I were to add Diabolic Intent to this, what would you replace for it or does it even need it?
Wondering the same since it got a reprint with BRO.
Why no ancient den/vault of whispers?
I initially but them in but they were removed since they didn't really do enough for the build (since we didn't really have too many payoffs that cared about artifacts outside of vehicles). Are you selling this deck somewhere? Or do we just buy it off cardkingdom?
I'm not selling the decks I make anywhere but if you want to buy the singles to make it, I would suggest TCGplayer for the best prices.
I didn’t think that this commander could make a good deck lol
The colors slow it down a bit but I think it can be decent but there are better options.
Fair - Greasefang appeared a bit lackluster to me at first too, but the build working surprisingly well.
