Timex M79 "Batman" Worth More Than The Q?

People have strong opinions about the Timex M79. After over a week on the wrist I have been wondering if the M79 is worth the money. Here is what I think.

I agree with your review: crown and bezel issues. I own an M79 too. I don’t absolutely love it. But I like it a lot.

Hello I have only just purchased this watch and I've got to say I love it, its such a cool-looking watch, and the bracelet I think has a lot to do with that, how its so retro looking, just like you I loved it straight out the box, thanks for sharing.

Picked my M79 black up at a AD preowned, a ding on the bezel and scratched crystal for a third of retail. The ding aint to bad and polywatch fixed the rest.
Just like you i bought it with my heart rather than my brain but i do like it. Its all that you say it is. A nice everyday watch with a nostalgic wibe. Great review :)
Ps. And yeah, the crown is tiiiiiiny

Looks cool but the only thing is the automatic version of the Timex Navi XL diver is 41mm, a bit cheaper($20 I think)comes in three colors and on the website appears better made which kinda makes it a better in house choice, whatcha think?🤔

I think that you make an exceptionally strong point. To choose this over the Navi would be a gut decision. I personally love the M79 in spite of its flaws.

For the price you can grab a sarb or Hamilton,but I do get it the watch looks cool .But I do think it’s overpriced because you can do your research and see many good watches at that price or £20 more and you can get a better made watch.

Around here the sarb is in the 500s from what I've seen. As is a Hamilton automatic. But your point is well taken. There are a number of watches with better specs on paper available at this price point. I think if you are buying the M79 you are buying with your heart and not your head.
