    Lol, I love reading the comments from watch snobs, "no sapphire, no hacking, no proper lume, too expensive, exhibition caseback, should be nh35, it's a Timex, too expensive for a Timex...blah, blah, blah"
    You know what? Don't buy it.
    I have a ten year old Bulova with the miyota movement, never needed it to hack, never needed it to dive below 6 feet let alone 100 meters and my son loves watching the rotor and other parts inside through the case back, ten years on my wrist with zero issues and accuracy almost as good as any quartz watch in my drawer.

      Well said. A watch hobby can be anything you want it to be. In my opinion a true watch lover who loves horology is cool and I respect that, but I think there are a lot of people who are more concerned with the watch as an investment and what it is going to be worth years down the road. I am a huge Timex fan and love the history of the company, etc. I do not have any grandiose ideas that I they are going to be worth a lot in the future, but I still collect them because I love their watches and the memories of what the company and the watches mean to me. It's a fun hobby and I don't need a watch snob to tell me they are not high horology. I love them nonetheless and will keep collecting them and keep enjoy this great hobby. I think many who only focus on luxury watches are missing out on really cool fun pieces like Timex makes and maybe they need to own a few to remind themselves not to take themselves and life so serious and have fun with the hobby. My suggest is the Snoopy Masked Man Batman M79 is a great place to start.

    I have the Pepsi Q, the Coke Q and this watch. I love them all. The only problem is I also own 40 other Timex watches so some of them don't get that much wrist time. Timex has the heritage and make amazing looking watches for the Hardworking Men and Woman that put their nose to the grindstone, roll up their sleeves and do what they have to do. Timex is Americana at it's best. Never Give Up!

    I don't see the purpose of exhibition case backs when the movement is off-the-shelf and completely undecorated. That's a gripe for all manufacturers, not just Timex. Doesn't make any sense to me; they could have put a cool retro looking case back engraving I bet.

    Good review. Can you let me know when yours is more wound, and when you pull the crown out to adjust the time, if your second hand still moves. I also have the M79, and when it was barely wound, the second hand sort of stopped when adjusting counter clockwise, but when more wound the second does not stop at all when syncing time. I called Timex support, and then after a bit of there own research they said this was on purpose. I find this very strange and never came across this. It’s very annoying because I like to keep my time synced as close as possible.
    Please let me know your second hand behavior when adjusting your time. I feel Timex quality control missed this one.

  • @DanielNoblett1111
    @DanielNoblett1111 4 года назад +2

    Note the Miyota movement used by Timex has a unidirectional winder, it winds in one direction and freewheels in the other, it can be noisy and clunky feeling, probably timex going to the least expensive movement, would have been nice if they went with something like a NH35 from Seiko.

    I just got mine today (2/19/20). Looks really nice, but the watch has problems. First, the bezel is not well-fitted and has side-to-side play. You can shift it left-right, or up-down. The watch also does not hack. I tried to set the time and the second hand continued to move (I read another review on the Timex website and that user had the same problem). I expected better quality for the price I paid. I requested a refund.

      Do you actually require more than 50m water resistance with this watch out do you just require more depth rating for bragging rights? I'm not entirely convinced by this watch, but the water resistance isn't an issue for me
