We have the little ferns here also. I took pictures so I can paint them. We call these Fiddle Head Ferns. These are a delicacy. I think my family steams these. I see the ferns unfurling here in the Spring. There you are you just talked about the Fiddle Heads. I won't eat them because, I don't know which ones are safe. These are beautiful! Thank you.

I love ferns! Have several varieties in my yard in Illinois. Japanese Painted ferns are my favorite but I love the green ones too. Cinnamon ferns have these cool brown stalks that come up in the middle …. that look just like cinnamon sticks. I really need to paint them. I am sure you are having a great time in France! Can’t wait to hear all about it. Hope you find the paints you are looking for. I need to get my passport renewed so I can go on the next one. I hope you do another trip.

The tip about green gold 6:06 was great! Thanks! I always forget I have it, and it is perfect for ferns and plant stems. I just got some Maimeri single pigment Green Gold that would be great for this! Hope you are enjoying France !
