As a total beginer, I'm really surprised it broke. was there not enough penetration? ~80 amps might be too low for such thick pieces..? I expected this to bend but not to break. perhaps welding isn't as strong as I thought..

Same test with 7018, maybe 4 brands using just dc.

It's because of the electrode type . 7018 would produce alot different results
I know this video is ancient, but I wonder if those welds would've failed as they did if the weld was made closer to 100 amps
