Costs of airplane ownership vary widely from owner to owner. This video takes an average of the various expenses from existing owners and boils them down to simple to digest numbers. Your ownership experiences will be unique. - Авто/Мото
Amazing video! I fly and manage a Phenom 300, and you are very very close on your numbers! The Phenom outperforms the PC-24 in almost every category (except cargo door size and number of main landing gear tires). It is the highest performing civilian single pilot aircraft in production today, but I must correct you, it HAS been beaten. The SyberJet SJ30 (5 made, and mayyyyybe going back into production) was single pilot, flew at FL470, Mach .83, and had a range of 2500 miles. It was much smaller though.
"Number of main landing gear tires" - Never underestimate the importance of this metric in aircraft comparisons.
Can I be your best friend?
Field performance and rough strips… which is the PC-24’s raison d’être.
There was a billionaire at an airport I used to fly out of who bought one of these specifically because it was the largest jet he could fly single pilot. He’d take it up on the weekends and bum around the Rockies vfr like it was a piper cub.
That's a good guy to know!
@@kazansky22 sadly I never got the chance to go for a ride in it
KAPA?
@@TheRestrictedgamerThat was my first guess too.
If you’re going to have a billion dollars, that’s a good way to spend it😅
Finally something closer to my price range (I can barely afford a 1/5th share of a 172)
You can't even afford a 172? Bruh, I'm flying my Citation all weekend...
*proceeds to turn on PC and open MFS to fly the said Citation with a mouse and keyboard
“literally above us…” another CW gem!
One thing to note is out of all the jets in its class Phenoms are by far the easiest to work on. in my repair facility their maintenance turn around are lightning fast compared to others. Their manuals are incredibly user friendly and their able to troubleshoot themselves. Embraer really knocked it out of the park with these
not my experience, Embraer tech care system is anything but intuitive. Indeed much of the ordering and nomenclature is anything but industry standard. Still it works OK, I particularly love the transient issues I see so frequently. Nothing sets an aircrew on edge quite like a CAS message, and nothing seems to annoy them more than seeing it fixed by pulling a breaker counting to ten and re setting it.
I have only flown 172 and other small planes but seeing 4500ft of climb, is crazy. That must feel like you are riding a rocket ship.
If Flaris ever successfully manages to put the LAR 01 into production then that climb rate will suddenly become very second tier.
I am a Phenom pilot for a 135, it's a great jet, only two things about it I can't stand. 1: it has no tiller. It's a pain in the ass to taxi in tight spots. 2: the computer controlled brakes aren't very good, they grab and can ruin a great landing.
Other than those two gripes, I love the thing.
Thanks for sharing your experience 👍
@@CompleteWalkaround thank you for the excellent videos, I’m a big fan.
one of my favorite bizjets to work around, very easy to service but the engines are very loud even for a jet engine, 300 is definitely the better model tho (it has singlepoint fueling so that gives it a ton of extra points over the 100)
Certainly a man of taste
Every where we go, people stare at us with fingers in their ears. We call it the “Phenom Salute”
The lack of an APU makes it a GPU hog on the apron💀
@@beechcraftkingair3799 yeah but i think GPUs are kinda fun so i dont really mind
0:42 "I only talk about simgle pilot airplaines. This whole channel is just me planning out for when I hit the powerball."
... and that's your entire audience, as well. :D
It's a nice airplane. Netjets uses them in their fractional ownership plan, and I had the privilege to fly in it a couple of times because a relative had a Netjets account. There were always two pilots when I flew via Netjets.
probably two pilots because FAR part 135 I think.
I interned at the NetJets when I was in college, was fortunate to ferry a flight on the Phenom, now it's my favorite plane.
You should make a Google sheet available to viewers where we could filter and sort by speed, price, cost per mile, etc.
I started an Airtable once but didn't get the chance to finish. Maybe one day
"This entire channel is for when I hit the Powerball"
This is why I come back to see what I should buy when I hit the Powerball too!
I thought you could not top some of your prior most clever and humorous episodes but this one does. 😂
Regularly get 6,000FPM climbouts all the way to about FL200, then 3,000FPM to FL350, 2,000 to FL400 and 1,000FPM to FL450. Super fun to fly
Your voiceover work has now ascended to Morgan Freeman status with the use of sooper dooper pooper scooper.
Never stop. You make my day every time there's a new release :)
Yes!! Always a treat seeing a new video from you man!
Love the channel my friend!
Another awesome video! You gotta do the Beech 18. Depending on your perspective and when you consider what it does, it's either one of the most bang for your bucks twins around, or the biggest money pit you can own.
"This whole channel is just me planning out for when I hit the powerball."
That's exactly what it is for me also. 😂
Lovely conclusion, CW!
These videos are a treat!
Yes. I agree. Your whole channel is me budgeting out my Powerball win, too.
WWI replica budget - check.
1970's "Twin Town" - check (and pass).
Phenom 300 budget - check. (Will be flying with a 2nd pilot - #safety.)
Hummingbird 300L budget - waiting. (currently planning $320k+, with fast build option, some options, and high end Garmin avionics).
That's a spicy meatball...
Damn Matt, You're keeping me going brother !
Really nice overview. I would love to see a PC-24 comparison at some point.
Had one of these bad boys number 1 on a 5 mile final yesterday with a storm on our doorstep (like 10 miles south), and so ATC asked me to do a short final to squeeze in ahead of them. Quite the ride to get down since I was abeam with 13R but I did get to see that beautiful jet. I’d love to try it out someday.
Love these videos, you should make one on the twin otter
I fly one for work and she can definitely be a bit of a handful for the single pilot especially on busy airspace. What an amazing airplane though
I love your videos. I would love to see a video about Vans RV12IS. Also good luck with your RV14 they are beautiful planes.
My favorite plane is the baron 58. I really hope to get one of your videos on that. They are very entertaining
I see this at Daytona all the time, I love you bro!
The goat is back
Love your content! Could you do one on the Standart J-1? I find it a very photogenic little plane. It showed up in movies like Ace Eli and Rodger of the Skies and one of my favorites, The Great Waldo Pepper.
I like that new air Canada livery too!
finally a new video ❤
Great video!
Could you do a Learjet 35A cost to own vid next?
Can you do a review of the Mig-21?
Could you please do a video about the Cessna 190/195 Businessliner?
another banger fr, aeronca 7ac champ next? its "better then the j3 cub in every way"
“…pooper scooper expensive…” nice. I’m going to use that one.
my whole viewage (is this a word?) of this channel is for when I win the poweball, and if do I'll take you for a ride. I liked the piaggio evo until your piaggo evo video brought me down to earth, so this is my fallback (LOL).
"- and what do you want to do with all this millions?
- ehh just buy and mantain a jet for a few years"
Citation jet next please
Earnest single-pilot-wins-Powerball question: for the plane you fly yourself, would you really want a jet like this over a high-end King Air? For family trips, you get two pros up front of the jet and you yap with them like you know what you're talking about, but would this honestly be more fun to fly yourself regularly versus something less bonkers like a twin turboprop?
Honestly Tom, it’s a good question. In this you push a few buttons and next thing you know you’re half way to space at 3/4 the speed of sound and the plane is thinking of you more as a liability then a captain. The powerball thing was just a joke (we don’t have lottos like that in Canada anyway). If I could go for any plane in the world for my own personal plane and have the money to support it, ahhhh… maybe PC12? I am a very firm believer in simplicity. I think PC 12 is the best single in the world so I guess that. I once saw someone loading a motorcycle into a pc12. That’s quite a sales pitch
@@CompleteWalkaroundI’ve seen a guy hang TWO motorcycles under his wings. Can you do a cost to own on that? Pretty please! That’s the collab we’re looking for…
@@PetesGuideruclips.net/video/kn5ER7H53D0/видео.htmlfeature=shared
King Air or jet, you're flying from A to B. If that's so then you might as well go in style with a jet, with the added advantages of going above the weather, and not worry about Vmca and feathering the prop when an engine dies. The main downside is that the jet flies too fast for one amateur pilot's brain to handle, if something unexpected happens.
@@PetesGuideYou can DO that?! Is that legal? 😮
Yea, winning the power all, that plane is a must. I am not a pilot. Dreamed of being one. Maybe one day I will be. Liked the videos of cost of planes. Good job.
Love the channel, big fan, been a captain for a fractional for a long time and been flying this plane awhile…from all my experience there is no better performer in any light jet cat than this, almost a coast to coaster (you could do it in a Zombie apocalypse) if I was a 91’er I’d bring her down to less than a grand on fuel every day, (I’m good weather) my only problem would be the VCS, not too good, but who need AC if you can get off the ground and in the 40’s in 20’ish min…again love the channel
Thanks, And thanks for sharing your experience
can you please make a video on the paris jet ms760
hey can you make video about dg300?
Love the new Jetz livery 😉
Can you do a cost to own on a Superstol XL?
Hey, can you make a video about a cheap airplane that's able to Cary the most amount of people?
Best channel
The vision jet is SF-50 fyi. Love your videos.
Dang it! Typed that before the coffee set in I guess
Love the sidebars 😂
Very good conclusion.
Just for my information : 1200kg or 2550 pounds of load is what you have left with the tanks full ?
No, Max Payload is the maximum amount a weight you can put in the plane that's not fuel or crew. Different than useful load and used on larger planes. Max Payload is most often not at full fuel. Max Payload is different than UL on some planes, because just because you leave your tanks nearly empty, that weight doesn't translate into potential weight in the cabin like it does on smaller planes.
Mr. Walkaround is spot on, as usual. For a concrete example, on our aircraft, our empty weight is 11,721#, max fuel is 5,400#, and max take off weight is 18,387# that means Full Fuel payload is 1,266#. Our zero fuel weight (max weight minus fuel onboard) is 14,220# which means the “max payload” is 2,499# on our plane, and we can take 4,167# of fuel.
Whenever i win the lottery i would love to have the Praetor 600, but i think the 300E would be less expensive =D
Well now you have to do the Citation Mustang lol.
Do they still install these off the end of runways?… Horrible braking systems, but atleast this model has reversers and spoilers.
Do they have the Powerball in Canada, eh?
No,they don't. I believe my odds of winning are very poor
For the best actual single pilot performance, isn’t there one company that imports and converts mig-21/23’s to the west? For the kind for guys who can afford their own private military.
I did say civilian.
Why can’t I sip gin and juice while skimming treetops shooting at the Red Barron?
the socata/daher tbm would be a good video i think, one of the sexiest planes ever + single pilot certified
TBM 850 was one of my very early videos.

ALLAHUMMA Barik.
Can it shoot down a super-maneuverable su-27 flanker with aim54 phoenix's? Checkmate
load some .30 calibre machine guns. You'll take out most things outside of combat aircraft.
I love you and your channel, I hope you hit the powerball, but not before me...
Weekend rector (shouldn't they be in church?), cheese, gin and juice......
Is the Phenom for those wanting a party after choir practice 🤣
That's some gouda cheese there! Haha!
“The most one pilot can do”. My man has clearly never flown the metroliner single pilot IFR haha
🇧🇷
Can you the Czech Sport Cruiser. Pretty please.
bristell b23 is the modern adaption of the sport cruiser
Perhaps include “a cost per minute” to blue collar pilots such as myself. 🙂
lol, Perhaps cost to walk within 50 feet of it for us youtubers
oh no instructions were unclear, i accidentally bought a phenom 300 with only this video as research
This is probably not the best take way but here is goes. A jet that can fly 450kts and above 400FL can cost less per hour then a helicopter. I don’t know how my wife can tell me no with that sort of logic.
Man you gotta REALLY want to take off vertically and hover. Helicopters are insane
There's more performance to be had in the realm of single-pilot planes-there are some MiG-21s in private hands, aren't there?
There's more to performance than speed.
@@CompleteWalkaround It would be nice to be able to bring some friends along, or more baggage than I could fit in my pockets, but I bet the amount those limits bother me would decrease in direct proportion to the amount my Mach number exceeds 1.
@@JaySlaterOfMars yes, and what if F86s show up..
Super duper pooper scooper!
Osama is rich rich.
"Promo SM" ☀️
Should do a Learjet 24. Been looking to buy a used one since they are super cheap and loud. The FAA has gone woke so they won’t mind it identifies as a stage 4 noise aircraft.
Send my regards to the tower by buzzing it ;-)
how's that enviro systems climate control working for you?
syberjet beats it.
These are great videos, what with the great graphics and witty banter, but these concepts are nothing new. That's not a knock, because the information can be tough to gather and you've done the work. (I'll send more money soon.) As a non-owning pilot, I've been struggling for years about how and when I'm going to be able to enter the world of ownership (and it's many manifestations). What continues to amaze and baffle me is how almost all of my pilot acquaintances look at you like you're speaking Greek when you ask them how much their planes cost to operate. The one exception was the guy who just sold his plane because he concluded he was paying too much money to not fly his airplane. And it's not like any of us are super wealthy, either.
Further note to prospective owners: If you're considering a standard category, Part 23 airplane, make sure you have solid leads on who is going to maintain it. The corporate FBOs don't want your business and your solo A&Ps are getting more expensive and scarcer due to insurance and whatnot. It's a real problem and something needs to be done about it.
Easily the worst jet I’ve flown for work. Poor build quality, and terrible service and support from Embraer. Great climb performance but that’s it. Awful runway performance, cruise speed and too small for the range it has.
Interesting, what is the best?
@@CompleteWalkaround either the falcon 2000 or 747-400. Both great airplanes for their mission and very reliable.
