Thor's smile when Strom caught the Hammer, is beautiful and infectious.
it's also iterative. it first happened in x-men anuall # 9 everytning everyone sees here is old and has already been done years ago.
Man people being able to wield Thor's hammer is getting as common as kryptonite in Smallville.

To finally see Storm shown respect in this Krakoan era has been so refreshing... The writer acknowledged that her power isn't on The All Fathers level "Yet" so there's no need to argue that. Thor's been a god for thousands of years and Storm has only just begun to scratch the surface.
But it also acknowledges her ridiculously high ceiling of abilities

@@MrGanjie I mean nobody complains when Jean beats up multiple Silver Surfers and Knocks Galactus on his a*ss WITHOUT the Phoenix. Nobody cries when Iceman who started off throwing snowballs and has ZERO magic can pierce Thor's flesh with an icicle or freeze the mystical fires of hell... on the contrary they love it. But when a woman with an actual magical godhead and the blood of an ancient sorceress supreme running through her veins does something just as spectacular it's a problem... I wonder why?

Also I could be wrong but isn't the vacuum of space worse than atmospheric pressure? It's like saying, yeah she can crush Odin. It's sh!t writing in my opinion. Amping Storm is fine but not at the expense of Thor. The Thor corps looks interesting but I'm weary of them using the opportunity to bring back foster as Thor.
@@GilbertojrZ7 I've seen many! And everytime there is an Storm vs Iceman video guess what the main argument is... "Iceman hurt Thor and froze hell" even those who claim to have a problem with that battle use that battle with the quickness as a reason why Iceman beats Storm.

Beta Ray Bill coming through the portal, catching Mojlnir, and then transforming into the classic Bill is such an incredible moment. The hype was real right there . This whole thing was insane.

People missed the point of this comic. It truly stayed in character and power of both. Storm, Thor etc.are beings of incredible and immeasurable power. If the need arises they can make a way to defeat any foe that challenges them. One way or another be it their natural powers and abilities, magic, strategy or external forces. As long as they believe in what they're fighting for, they will always win. So any situation of one versus the other will weigh in favor of who has the most conviction and need.
Thor is the God of Thunder he tells Lightning, winds, rain to do his bidding even if they're not always present he can use magic to create them. Storm on the other hand she is "Mistress of the Elements" as was her tagline decades ago. She doesn't command Storms truly instead she instinctively uses the natural elements of the universe as an extension of herself to do as she desires/needs "I am their equal". If she wants rain the hydrogen and oxygen bond/form together to create it, she wants lightning she'll take it from her own energy or the nucleus of atoms, create a thicker atmosphere with air molecules etc. That's why in SoS her lightning was compared to the effect, power and radiation like the sun because it was. Even in X-men Red she told War "You're one thing, I am many" Storm uses the very fundamental elements and components to make weather; including Storms. Thor uses his magic to make storms. Similar powers some overlap on a venn diagram but not truly the exact same. It makes them comparable but also vastly different.

Your correct but they Both command weather difference is storm commands everything in the atmosphere .. also storm Has magic abilities that havnt been fully fleshed out.. her mutant abilities alone she could kill easily by electrocutiy or boiling any living things insides/heart/brain. She taken air out of lungs before she can manipulate those same forces within the body.. all that Said Thor still is overwhelming durable... but with her magic soon she could be too
Wasn’t the real point that she was trying to get his attention because of her situation?? It was by no means a “vs”.
This has become an old trope because of the current crop of writers. Thor “use” to do all sorts of different things with “weather” , but they (writers) just got lazy and started using the thunder/lightning as his go to and rarely anything else. Probably because he’s so strong, but originally he had hurricane breathe etc.
They literally turned Thor into just a muscle head when just for the sheer age of him his knowledge and breadth for having elemental powers for centuries is vastly superior to Storms. She’s a great character and vast potential which is finally being explored, but let’s be honest if he turned the atmosphere attack back on her she couldn’t withstand it. So again it wasn’t a vs more a means to show those who might not be as familiar with her that she’s powerful enough to be on the team and fight against the elder god.

this was indeed a clear indication as to who would have won there, and that was thor.
It's not like she was trying to kill him either though. Storm is leading the fight against an army of omega level mutants. And she's doing a damned good job. Storm herself is omega level and has literally summoned black holes before. I don't think it's as cut and dry as everyone thinks.

That’s the CRAZY thing about Storm. She is an actual omega level mutant and a goddess gifted with Godhead as well. Yes she isn’t as in-tuned with her divinity, but she has it as well. ALSO…She has magical ability..her ancestor was the first human sorcerer supreme. If Storm was to harness all these things, Thor would be in trouble.

At first i felt that way but his points were proven. It’s just that storm fans don’t want to acknowledge the obvious. That he’s the A side here. First of he summoned and teleported her at will, then she basically tickled him with lightning and he basically commanded it to stop. Then she changed the air pressure which was decent but he shook it off and let her know he can handle air pressure no matter what it is which we already knew since he has literally had a pow wow with surfer in the middle of the sun effortlessly and casually. I guess the writer just likes storm so much that he wanted her to have a little moment making his ears bleed which even then he has a very good healing factor. Then he gives her a power up and scares the living f outta her with the entity that he literally tucked away in another dimension. Then assembles a whole squad against it. All his power all his will. There’s definitely a bigger picture being displayed here while letting storm have some shine at the same time.

I really hope we dont lose Thor from the MCU before we get Storm. Like it would be tragic to not only never get a Black Panther/Storm storyline but also miss out on at least a fun throwaway scene between Storm and Thor.
I swear the only 2 things I want to see in the MCU is black panther with storm and the X men humble the Avengers
While I am not shocked that Storm is worthy, the plan that Thor came up with was dope. Usually he would get some help, or time travel or something. This is WAY better. I hope this new aspect of Thor does not get lost.

Yeah, I read it that Thor has now changed the enchantment, and only these 4 are now who he considers worthy to lift Mjolnir.

Storm is not worthy. She doesn't kill. Same reason why spiderman is not worth

Not the first time Storm wielded Thor's hammer. Happened back in the 80's as well. It was in either a New Mutants or X-Men annual, or if I am remembering right it was one big story where the annuals were cross overs. That was a long time ago.
Loki increased the powers of several mutants to gain power from Those Who Sit Above In Shadow.
In a fight Thor will beat Storm unless bad writing is involved or Thor is nerfed. But Thor being wiser and thinking outside the box like this goes back to the Great Walt Simonson's run which few Thor writers ever followed up on. And it's great to see. sm

Technically yes because when Bobby Blake transformed the spirit of Thor took over. Because before Thor was dead and the hammer enchantment revives him only for a temporary time. Now Thor is fully alive and doesn't need a worthy human

As much as i love storm i think thor handily takes the win but it just wouldnt be a quick win. Storm is like a very powerful glass cannon and thor is a real tank. I dont think storm could dish out out a killing blow before thor just walked through her assault and hit her once to win. Even the pressure feat in this comic i take with a grain of salt. Thor clearly isn't trying to kill her, otherwise he would just force himself to walk through that field to get the win
Seeing what he did in this comic, she brought him to his knees but he just got back up and chucked his hammer at her. If he chucked a rock, she would have died. He’s far stronger than her, otherwise there would be no point in giving her the hammer.

@@richardajayi3194 even with that she shouldn’t have been able to do nothing to him. Thor all by himself made the Phoenix force flee from him. Thor is just one of those characters writers use to make other weak characters look good. It’s a sad shame. Jason Aaron’s in particular did it constantly. I’m surprised he hasn’t gotten death threats for how he treated Thor. Cates and this new guy are definitely a huge improvement. Thor still has his struggles but he definitely gets his just due and he defeats these enemies the way he should now

Honestly it feels like it happened because Thor allowed it. The Thorforce would put him outside the realm of her control from a weather point of view and she’s not powerful enough to battle him in any other way

As powerful as storms weather manipulation is. She still lack the durability of Thor. Which is a big factor, and why Nimrod would kill her. While Thor would destroy Nimrod. Added her lack of durability would get her killed by the destroyer. If anything Storm reminds me of a glass, Canon. Since she can’t take to much direct damage. Compared to Thor and doesn’t have a healing factor like wolverine. If she did, then she’d be almost broken.
Not necessarily her ability to control air pressure can also be used to protect herself and given that she was able to hold down thor and I would also say she was holding back since, I doubt she actually wanted to hurt him.. I'd say not much could get through

Anyone else think it's weird just how quick Storm went to violence? I get she was dealing with pressing issues but the fact that she was willing to actively try killing Thor (whether it was successful or not is irrelevant) is kind of character assassination
She knows she wouldn't kill him she was literally just trying to get her point across. That attack would have killed almost anybody else but Storm knew it wouldn't kill Thor.
She has been way more warlike than normal in recent books but tbf, she is kind of in a war rn. Is weird that she'd go for a move like that on someone she's supposed to be cool with tho

A fight between thor and storm like full out would be interesting. Seeing how storm changed the atmospheric pressur around thor was very cool! But recently after thors battle with Turanos we saw him call upon "the calm before the storm" so it seems he's getting more creative with his powers too. I think itd be pretty even but may lean slightly in the favor of Thor.
i believe in one of the contest of champions he grappled her into an embrace, while in close and if remembering correctly, he inhaled her breath till she passed out. 🤣🤣

I’ve been waiting for this!
While Storms powers are incredibly strong and she could hold her own against Thor for a bit, Thor would win due to the simple little fact that Storm has the durability of a regular ass human while Thor can take hits from Galactus. A SINGLE moderately powered Hammer swing against Storm from Thor would smash her to pieces just like what happened to that Fish guy in Invincible.
The only chance she would have would be to go all out form the start and not let him get close, but that would only be temporary, eventually Thor would reach her, then its Hammer Time.
Storm vs Thor is like a 2 Meters Tall buffed guy vs a 1,60 Woman with a Pepper Spray ,she can hurt him a bit but she will get clapped right after
She is not the of a regular human. If her body can adapt to the high n vast weather changes she makes around her its clear that her body is not of a regular human really n the fact that she has been shown as and elemental being before in the future.. shows she has so much more potential then she has been shown. Hence why this writer has been giving Storm her props. I'm not saying she's Thor but her Mutant abilities and her Magic linage if properly explored would make her a very powerful being.. even when they did that itteration where storm came bk to life and used her magic and abilities to do something otherworldly and 1/ died and 2/ needed a boost from another mutant. Was stupid Wanda and Dr Strange can heal n damn near come bk to life but Storm a proclaimed godess with all them abilities finally gets a page to let lose and dies and nees assistance... smh they write her poorly and only now she's getting more dudilligence. When so many other mutants and beings have been shown in multiple forms of glory with their giving abilities. So much of what storm can truly do if she wanted to say fuck everything n let wreck is to be explored

The problem with Thor Vs Storm is that while storm is very powerful, her body sturdiness is that of a regular human. And Thor has gone into Black holes, which are MANY times stronger than Jupiter's atmosphere. She could fight for a bit but I don't see any way for her to finish him before he gets her.
Storm has inhibited eternity.. with her power set she could easily make herself stronger n more durable
It's basically a question of "Can Storm beat Thor before Thor lands a hit on her?"

I think when Hydra Cap picked up Mjolnir in Secret Empire showed you don't have to be a good guy. I do like that they still had power for a minute while passing it around. Interested in the next issue.
Wasn't Mjolnir altered during that time and by the time the event ended it reverted back to its original enchantment. Like wasn't it Worthiness to Might (as in might makes right) and then back to worthiness?
Thor would beat the brakes off Storm. If she was smart she would've asked for help with Genesis. Not like Thor couldn't just one shot Genesis and her crew with little effort.

Good episode. But we all know Thor would stomp Storm. Jupiter AP is really not that High...especially for a God. Especially for a god that had endured and broke free of the gravity of a neutron star in the comics. He also broke free of the weight of 20 planets. Honestly Thor should have laughed at that attack.

Funny thunder god vs weather goddess? yeah no. Storm can can control WEATHER, that would include Thor's lightning as well as his surrounds, she'd overwhelm or simply just do what she did in this video and increase the pressure around him then pull the air from his lungs and just suffocate or etc. Its like saying 1 fire element could be both an ice and water one in a 1 vs 2.

Honestly, when it comes to Marvel battles. I always put my money on X-Men characters over Avengers related characters. Professor X surrounded himself with god level mutants. Sure Avengers have a Hulk. But I mean... There are a few X Men who can shut him down.
Uhh that really worked for them in WWH.... But I do agree the Xmen would take more wins over the Avengers but it's not so one sided.
Tbf, the x-men on average have more powerful people but thor could solo most of the x-men by himself

Emma Frost would have a field day, Professor X would be diplomatic and there's no telling how Jean Grey would be feeling that day. Then go forbid, if Legion was randomly out on a day pass. I would even put Cyclops on the stage to show the haters some things he could do. Can Thor, being tangible, in his Thor Force beat out a full on Cyclops blast? I mean, the blasts' energy is not of 'that' dimension.

Legion and Phoenix have a shot but that's about it.
America Chavez straight up passed through the dimension Cyclops' power comes from unaffected and she's nowhere near thor so I doubt he'd do much.
Overall, the x-men are dipping with power but thor is in an entire league of his own

Would be a crappy ability to accidentally die going to a random point or universe/dimension. She's also never been punchee by his optic that can level a planet. But Emma Frost is still an outlier. She can bring a dead planet to life to thrive while she’s not even there while Thors weather power is based solely off magic which is why he found the skrull refugees they needed rain to sustain them, sunlight to shine on them. All things Thor could do for a moment cuz his weather is magical, hers is natural so he left the planet and promised to return with her to do something he couldn’t do himself. Thor has weather manipulation, Storm has “Atmokinesis” google that word and don’t comment on them being able to do the same things again until u do

I think the showing here doesn't imply storm is at the same level of thor considering he stood up again, she has been shown incredibly powerfull in these comics even kinda to a "look this is my favorite character" degree but she is still no odin.
And it makes sense, the atmospheric pressure of jupiter sure would pack a puch but we are talking about a guy who travels the universe in the regular and fought an universe devouring force, is jupiter really that much?
yeah, makes NO SENSE that Jupitor would make him fall on his knees and make him bleed, he has been in worse situations and came out unscathed.

Thor's raw brute force with lighting and Thunder storms is second to non but that's where it stops. Storm on the other hand controls and is capable of controlling all weather phenomenon in the universe. Also they are both linked to Gaea but she has more elements of nature under her control than thor. In terms of versatility thor himself has said storm is better.
There a reason Thor was test Storm he knows that certain characters in Marvel was getting Power Amps you know because he the new allfather & king of Asgard also Storm just in the middle of fighting Opps from Arakkos so yeah it understandable that she also be a little bit of Fighting mood
This is/was one of my favorite books I've pulled this year. Almost everything Al Ewing writes is a guaranteed hit and I am loving his dedication to Storm (my favorite Marvel/X-Men hero), it's just amazing to see. His S.W.O.R.D. and sequel [current] book X-Men Red is THE best characterization of modern Storm to date. I cannot recommend it enough!
And with the current situation with Arakko, I wish Storm would be able to use Mjolnir against Genesis and her Annihilation staff. If the villain can use a godly artifact then so can Storm to even the odds.

@@kennethmartin6115 the air should be so dense that it becomes a solid by the time it effects Thor. Not saying Storm couldn't do that but the atmospheric pressure on Jupiter should at worst be something it takes a little time for Thor to adjust to but not something that brings him to his knees. Imo

I mean like I think storm can momentarily inconvenience Thor but beat him nah unless the writer really wants it to happen like her beating Vulcan a mutant with Omega Level energy control powers he can control any type of energy but he got maxed out by lightning makes no sense Thor should be able to beat her super easy barely an inconvenience
PS. ALL of the female lead characters in comics (and some that aren't) are getting power boosts by the writers.
