She speaks so eloquently and so “grandly” because if she said what she had to say with her powers, you won’t survive. She is attuned to earth’s weather. It stands ready to respond to her commands immediately. Her claustrophobia is another reason she must maintain control because that is the one thing that she can’t just calm herself out of. She needs to be free, like the air itself. She is literally one with the earth’s weather. She RESPECTS the clay she molds. She would never unleash a fire tornado because it would be such a major disruption to the weather and would endanger more than just what she is fighting. She keeps herself in check consciously, which is why this happened. Her active mind was muted so the only part of her that could still act was her subconscious. She demanded to be free on such a primal level, the weather around her produced an equally primal response. When she was freed, it was too late. She had summoned so much elemental might to free herself that she was overwhelmed. Instead of speaking through the weather, that raging storm she summoned spoke through her. This story arc was so amazing.

we did recently see her pop off pretty hard in storm and the brotherhood issues of the sins of sinister mess. she created a singularity and destroyed the world farm. it was pretty hype.

Coates over in his Black Panther run had her access her "Godhead" and becoming a literal Goddess-via-worship to go up against The Adversary but it was nowhere near as dramatic or exceptional or even powerful as Rogue-Storm. The closest in power might be creating the weather patterns while the mutants were terraforming Mars/Arakko in PSXM 01, which was deliberate. I'm a little conflicted. On the one hand I wouldn't mind seeing Storm deliberately reach such levels and range of power under the right circumstances (not forced into it as she was here) but that amount of power unleashed would be catastrophic for everyone and everything around her, so... Nor would I want it to be her default power setting. Ewing has really upped the ante in SWORD and XMR and RoM with regards to what Storm is very capable of doing but it was still her mentally reigning herself in and holding back because she knows the consequence of fully giving in to her power.
Yeah I definitely think this shouldn't be her default. If Storm ever had a "final form" that was a "good" or controlled version of this, that's one thing. But it would have to be for some Engame type shit & beyond. In fact if I remember correctly, she rejected the Black Vortex version of this form (the pic I showed near the end) for the reasons you mentioned.
What seems stupid to me is that people can actually believe that Storm is not that powerful. It's been established way back in the early days of the New XMen, that Storm's power just doesn't affect one area but areas far away. Some people fail to understand that, in order to bring rain to a drought-plagued area means that you have to manipulate prevailing winds, moisture, barometric pressure, just to bring in Storm clouds. In essence, she is able to manipulate all of that as well as temperature, from arctic winds, gulf streams, continental air flows, all on Her Own! And the more she does it, the easier it gets! Anyone that can do that is, as Xavier used to say, I'd a force to be reckoned with. Even Magneto, a mutant who can manipulate a planet's magnetic field, gives Storm a wide berth. If the powerful Magneto can give this lady her props, everyone Else should. Plot armor indeed. Shows how uneducated some people are.

I don’t think I’ve read this since this came out in 1981(?) I loved Cockrum’s art, so different but equally as good as Byrne’s. And no, it wasn’t the real Doom, just a bot that was destroyed in the pages of the FF.
I'm pretty sure she could affect volcanoes and create earthquakes but shes to over powered in reality. They limit her to wind, ice and lighting which is a form of fire. In the comics she can sense when trees are dying and takes care of plants to feel calibrated to the earth so maybe geo-kinesis can be a secondary mutation for her as an elemental.
Well, considering that she can effect the pressures of wind to a very high degree. It wouldn’t surprise me if animators drew Storm just airbending (I use that term lightly) lava or some sh*t.

I just finish reading this issue. This was when Storm leading the team as a leader when Cyclops left the team but i just dont like the ending where doom apologised to her and the xmen. It was straight 80s comedy.

He MAD disrespected her story, with this fake-ass Adversary who wasn't even the Adversary, but one of the EyeKillers (and it wasn't even a proper EyeKiller). LifeDeath and the time after it was ALL about Storm being a competent leader and a force to be reckoned with and not needing her powers to do it, but trash ass Demayo got the team disrespecting her in the first few episodes, talking bout "Who will lead the team if Cyclops leaves??!?!" Uhh' possibly the bitch who always leads when he ain't around since episode 4, Captive Hearts? Maybe her?? Disrespectful, sabotage... What pisses me off about this issue is how the writers tried or did recon this to say it was a doom bot. Which is complete bullshit and disrespectful to the character. It’s like they want to try to make it known that doom is stronger than storm. Doesn’t make sense. This issue explains the respect doom has for storm because he knows what she is really capable of. Also something that’s not discussed is the fact that storm at one point was the most powerful mutant on earth. But of course they had to “retcon” a few characters to make them what they perceive as stronger than her or as stronger. When we know exactly what that is about. There is no way in hell most of these characters can withstand the forces of not only nature but the existence of time and space. It only exists because of space weather.

I don’t think I’ve read this since this came out in 1981(?) I loved Cockrum’s art, so different but equally as good as Byrne’s. And no, it wasn’t the real Doom, just a bot that was destroyed in the pages of the FF.
I'm pretty sure she could affect volcanoes and create earthquakes but shes to over powered in reality. They limit her to wind, ice and lighting which is a form of fire. In the comics she can sense when trees are dying and takes care of plants to feel calibrated to the earth so maybe geo-kinesis can be a secondary mutation for her as an elemental.
Well, considering that she can effect the pressures of wind to a very high degree. It wouldn’t surprise me if animators drew Storm just airbending (I use that term lightly) lava or some sh*t.

Yeah she can indirectly manipulate and cause earthquakes and lava blasts. She’s mainly responsible for sky manipulation but she’s also a capable earthbender.

A little fun fact also about storm is without powers her aim is better than green arrows, she can physically fight better than most of your favorite heroes. I love Storm. She’s my favorite. I’m on board with her being omega. But to say that she’s the same power level as the Phoenix force is a bit…wrong? It cheapens the power scaling. Storm’s powers are weather-which makes sense to classify her as a super powerful omega. But to say powerful weather control is on the same level as the universal cosmic psychic power entity?
