  • in this video i sow the exact step by step procedure to disassembly the 90-99 nissan 300zx (z32) t-tops in order to reseal for leaks and or replace your worn out moldings or window seals.
looks more difficult then it really is, once you see how it comes apart you will get a better idea for how all the parts interlock with one another.

Great video and service to the community! I feel like i will benefit greatly from it, wanting to replace my trim pieces. Is there an assembly video as well?
What about the rear hatch window trim replacement?
Also, the center t-tops hook piece?

I ran a search on t-top leaks and found this. Great video and a tremendous help. One key question though - when you finally do get to the outside trim piece, why is it now garbage, and it cannot just be cleaned up and screws sealed with RTV? The trim pieces are very expensive. Can you not simply seal everything with RTV and re-assemble?

This is a great question. I am going to do just that. The screws are a weakpoint for water leaking. I will remove them.

Yes you certainly can. I replaced them as my customers prefer a new. They are expensive. I have also restored the OEM ones in re installed them no problem so long as they aren't dented or severely damaged. Cleaning everything up and properly sealing around the screw holes before re installing your refreshed trim pieces is perfectly fine and acceptable. =]

Could this method be used for z31 ttops?

I honestly have not had the opportunity to explore that, however I'm sure the process is quite similar if not the same
