Nothing like it.....found that spot in 2015...in 7 years pulled thousand from there. It would last about 2-3 weeks...then was rare for me to put boat above the dam again until the next spring.
it lasted 24 hours! Next day was gone! Two days later there was bluegill beds on top of it... Weirdest thing i've ever seen... I can tell the size of the holes.... bluegill holes are tiny and shellcracker make HUGE holes on side imaging.. There is so much weeds there already that bedding there is impossible at this point... Something got messed up this year. I scanned miles of bank, and found many bluegill beds and some red breast, but can't find another SC bed... I caught more shellcracker out of my home lake than there, randy, without beds, just random singles here and there..
I kept meticulous records for years. What I learned is the moon phase means nothing to spawning activity. It is just a happenstance if they spawn on a full moon.
@@troutmagnetman Both Woods Reservoir and Old Hickory have produced some real tiny fish on beds this year, definitely smaller than last year. I think im gona try laurel hill, randy, hoping to get at least a 7" average. If u can make the drive there, i can pick u up w my boat and pull up the bimini top and we can make a good day of fishing..
What beauties! Those were some absolutely gorgeous shell crackers. Calm days like this where you can cast and retrieve without a float are so much fun. Love it!
Nice find and awesome catches...I like the balance of these Bg1 jigs however last weekend here in northern California, the larvae from zman kept getting pulled down, so I did Richard g. Technique and see how this works this memorial day weekend again. Luigi
did u superglue it to the head and still come down?? I fish the larvaZ a lot and i always lose the tail or the jig before it comes loose.. The only other thing i can think of is using superglue that is not water resistant. Watch this video if you haven't: ruclips.net/video/Mr-mQrhLyiI/видео.html Use the glue in this video. I think Richard Gene himself saw my video and changed his glue. He used the Blue bottle for years and always said that was the best glue he ever used, but in the last video he changed to the black bottle. I think he saw my video : ) Either way, i promise you, you don't have to go through the pain of putting floss on my jig heads : ), use the right glue and it will hold.
@@ifishcatfish OK I will review this video of the glue, I checked garage cabinets and both blue loc-tite bottles of glue were ruined and like a rock. But did the dental floss and diff glue..I have a spot that have huge redear gills like you found..if they are historically there ..1 to 2lb possible. Will take pictures.
Great video Vic. Bg-1, bison trout magnet, presso sul equipment = Great day for yellow bellies! Keep 'em coming. Here in upstate NY our panfish spawn just abit later than in Tennessee.
TN fishing has been sub expectations for me.. im gona make a video about it one day. Probably im still trying to find the fish... I could never catch even 100 crappie a day here, and in IL 200 crappie a day is nothing, if u just work hard.
Bro, I've been watching your ch . See your review on both shimano soare xr ul , what's their lure weight range ,and lines recommend. I don't understand their g table. Can you help
In Google type 'gram to ounce converter'. Type a bunch of values until u get the picture. But u don't even need that. It is an Ultralight rod, so ratings will be in line with other Ultralight rods. Trying to convert to ounces is mistake on the first place. The Ultralight world works in grams. If you are interested in that, you just need to buy some tackle and start to get used to grams units
Victor ,,this is the fish that a man works his whole life to catch ,,also this particular species is a grand prize each and every one ,,,to catch the red eared sunfish during its maturity is no doubt the top prize of fresh water angling , we can only pray that the meat hunters will stay away , not many places left with this quality of fishing.
i always do well on dark colors like black and brown. also bit of chartreuse lines. as long as the profile is the right one. they will hit it like no tomorrow i find
Good question! Answer is - I am NOT! This is not a speculation - i confirmed this on livescope! I confirmed it once again with a huge 11" shellcracker that made a bed RIGHT NEXT to the ramp on one of my lakes! I caught this fish 3 times in one week, and it would go back there right away! Yes, catch and release does work!
I love catching shellcracker!
What part of TN are you in?
Nashville
That looks like so much fun
This year didnt happen

Beautiful Fish! Go back to this spot around the full moon in June and report back.
are u sure about that? I don't believe in these things : ). But i never saw these fish again... Maybe u rite...

@@ifishcatfish sounds good Victor but that’s a long drive…400 miles. Maybe next year. My boys fished lower end of Center Hill today and got nothing.
Victor - the shellcrackers are attractive fish
Thanks buddy!
Been using the BG-1 with a Nikko stonefly and catching around 50 bedding gills a day with just one jig. Perfect combo!
great feedback! Thanks for taking the time to post!
Awesome Red Ear today.
THanks, Bobby!
Nice!

Hi. Love your jigheads. Caught like 20 bass and bluegill on them last weekend. Can you do a video on your favorite Texas rig micro baits?
OK : )
