    I've noticed when we get heavy rain 🌧 here in Nashville the Shellcracker school up shallow and close to the bank Richard!!! A couple videos back on my RUclips channel I was catching BIG Shellcracker about a foot off the bank in high water conditions

    Pound for pound one of the toughest fish there is. This is absolutely my favorite type of fishing right here, and man you talk about fun and a good eating fish. When the bull red ear and bluegill are in, I’m not!!

    Those fish are beautiful and big big big. Don't see them in Ohio like that. We may see 6" fish an occasional 7. God blesses you with knowledge, ability and great fishing areas. Great video.

    My river looks good this week. It is tempting to set-up for bank fishing but I will use my kayak in those areas I came across. It is near a
    public access area and some people make a dog-gawn mess coming in after I leave. Have a good day, RG!

    We call em chinquapin in North Louisiana but wherever you catch em or whatever you call em it's fun defined. I've caught 2 plus pounders on Lake D'Arbonne here in the past.

    I use a size 10 hook w 10 LB test & catch plenty of panfish to use for Flathead bait. I catch them a lot smaller.

    I take those with a tiny red wiggler or a tiny slice of corn. Like a half a kernel I fill up the cooler. Just a drop of garlic.

    We grew up catching and eating shell crackers and blue gills! Now that I'm grown I usually filet them. If my dad was alive he'd kick my butt for not cooking them whole!😅

    I catch too many bass/channel cats when I'm fishing for bluegil, perch, crappie. Usually with the same fishing rod. So I use 6# mono. I couldn't imagine using 2# test.
