    I live in Australia. I have a friend whose a farmer. Farmers here always build there houses on high ground. The farmer had a goldfish pond in his garden, on some ground lower than the house was his dam. In 1973 we had torrential rain that came up to the houses doorstep. When the rain stopped and the water subsided, his goldfish had gone. 2 years later you could see huge goldfish in the dam, some up to a kilogram.

    Brilliant Session again Chris. Some real nice ones there. You can spend up to a week on a designated Carp Pond, And never get as many as this. So this Is the nightmare we will be facing when the Water goes down. At the moment, It Is still like a giant lake (since November). There will be fish up to 30lb caught In a similar situation. Plus millions of fry as well. It Is not good for the Pike, as there Is no Brook for them to go to and spawn. So they will just have to spawn In the open water for now. Keep 'Em Coming.

    Their mouths suggest they've come from a commercial Stillwater somewhere upstream. Ideally, that's where they'd go back to, but moving fish from one "Stillwater" to another without a permit is illegal, whereas rescuing fish trapped after a flood, and returning them to the river is fine.

    • @cliveb9771
      @cliveb9771 7 месяцев назад

      Looks like it. The whole setup is strange. VERY unlikely a small river like that could contain a head of carp of that size plus no fish you WOULD expect in the river (Chub, Barbel, Perch) visible in the pond at all. More to this than meets the eye.

    • @topfuelteddy
      @topfuelteddy 6 месяцев назад

      Looks like a proper lake to me or at least somewhere that floods exactly the same every year .

    • @baldieman64
      @baldieman64 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@cliveb9771 Nah. I don't think there's anything dodgy going on. Native river fish are pretty good at staying in rivers when they flood, Carp by contrast are heavily stocked in commercials and those commercials flood. Carp do range out over flooded fields (there are a couple of good documentaries about them doing exactly this in Japan) and they get stuck.

    • @brucepaul81
      @brucepaul81 6 месяцев назад

      I reckon these carp have been placed in that 'pond' for someone to fish for. I'd guess it's been stocked for fishing. Just my guess don't care either way ha.
