Joker is a 2019 American psychological thriller film directed and produced by Todd Phillips, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver. The film, based on DC Comics characters, stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker and provides a possible origin story for the character. Set in 1981, it follows Arthur Fleck, a failed clown and stand-up comedian whose descent into insanity and nihilism inspires a violent counter-cultural revolution against the wealthy in a decaying Gotham City. Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Bill Camp, Shea Whigham, and Marc Maron appear in supporting roles. Joker was produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Films, and Joint Effort, in association with Bron Creative and Village Roadshow Pictures, and distributed by Warner Bros.

I loved how they turned this from comic book to more of a psychological thriller following a man's descent into insanity and I cared for my mum until she passed..... It wasn't easy so I kinda got an angle on this film.

Todd Phillips managed to do such an incredible job.
What’s even more awesome is when you consider that the whole ‘stand up comedian’ backstory is literally only just a few pages in The Killing Joke.

I loved both angles. Tim Burton’s Batman was fun to watch with family who watched the TV series. But Dark Knight was great and this Joker was the grittiest, nastiest, most realistic version of what the beginnings would be. Before he has an army and comes up with grand plans to create chaos. But having his brother be Batman is the best twist I’ve seen in a movie in a long time

Seeing this film in the cinema was an awesome experience. The awkward silence that hung over the audience when it finished is something that is rarely found. Joaquin Phoenix also made up t he scene where he empties the refrigerator and closes himself inside. He didn’t tell anyone he was doing it but Todd Phillips told the camera man to keep filming it even though he was shocked to see Joaquin opening the refrigerator door.

Joker is one of the best movies of all time. The story, direction, editing, visual style, editing, musical score, and cinematography was outstanding and incredible. It also gives a insightful and articulate representation of discrimination, disregard, and degrading towards mental illness as that was the major theme. good enough or pretty enough to the point of self sabotage like I also use substances not irresponsible but things that would have me shunned by anyone because I do more than just weed and I don't think there something wrong with it but others would think less of me and say im a addict and need help even though I do choose to be careful with it its the big m by the way im gonna let u guys figure it out so yeah I feel for him he just wants to be loved he deserves to be loved and I don't know about u guys but his transition to not giving a fuck what society thinks of him makes him so powerful the fact that he can kill without guilt that makes him free he has transcended morality and its not a bad thing its just a shame how he got there

People dismiss the fact that Arthur could be Thomas Wayne’s son because of the documents from Arkham hospital. But his mom told Arthur Thomas Wayne made her sign documents. The biggest and most obvious evidence in that whole scenario is the simple fact that Child Protection Services who handles cases like the abuse of a then child Arthur would never return an adopted child back to the person who abused him. If it was her biological child maybe after being released from prison and evidence of rehabilitation, then and only if it’s your biological child would they return your child to you but even then it would start with supervised visits then slowly move on from there. In the case of an adopted child not only would the foster or adopted parent never see the child again they would never be allowed to adopt a child let alone get licensed to be a foster parent. That means Arthur had to have been Penny Flecks biological son, which also means someone powerful had the so-called adoption documents falsified. That would be Thomas Wayne.

Don't let Arthur fool you Maple, since the pretty beginning he always shows signs of a psychopathic personality.
He always was narcissistic with fantasies about power (make laugh the world, conquer the girl next door without effort, being recognized as a "good and sacrificed son"), blaming the world around him for his problems. Sure, life was a bitch with him but so many people live in misery but not everybody goes killing people.
He just needed that gun to be himself, to feel liberated and find that "power" he always dream. The pleasure he feels after killing those men in the subway shows his true nature. This movie is a good example of a psychopathic personality.

Same here. I was bullied pretty bad in school and I have a hard time feeling any empathy for those guys. If he hadn't killed them they would have kept making other people's lives miserable.

I felt so sorry that he turned out like he did. I was left feeling like wtf. Shows what the city life is like. Needed to be given some Love! I feel like the way he was designed to be in this movie makes me think about how much people in this world need Love and compassion. Sucks how he imagined that the lady was his. He totally needed her at that time. Scary asf!

@@robertofigueroa9711 How is the film mediocre? Idk if you guys actually respect what the film is for what it is. Did you hear Joker and expect some entertaining crazy Heath Ledger type of joker? No this was about the UNMASKED version of Joker and what really happens behind closed doors when most people don’t see that and only judge him for what he is on the outside- just a clown like Thomas Wayne said.
