I actually have tourettes and night terrors as well. I was diagnosed with both when I was a little kid... I'm 31 now. My terrors actually decreased for a few years in my late teens/early 20's, but they've gotten worse the last few years and particularly in the last few months. They seem to be related to breathing issues at night (I was recently diagnosed with CSA as well). I can't help but wonder if this is something that is related to tourettes. My tics have been awful lately and my husband told me I'm moving around and having tics in my sleep. I cry out almost every night and I've had a couple of instances in the last few months where I've become violent and don't remember it after the fact. It's terrible. I haven't been on medication for tics in over a decade but I'm thinking about trying to get back on haldol to see if it helps. I think it's interesting what you said about Nyquil and Zquil... I take unisom (basically the antihistamine that is in nyquil in tablet form, sold as a sleep aid) and it has a similar effect on me. It used to quiet me down a bit, but I would still have them. Now they're starting to show up in full force even with the Unisom. I don't have any real solutions yet but I'm going to see a doctor soon and If I find anything that works I'll post it. Night terrors are no joke... they can be quite dangerous.

Hi there... so I've got an update for you, if you're interested. I finally got around to seeing a doctor about the terrors. She put me on something called prazosin. It's a blood pressure pill, but it's being used off label for nightmares and night terrors (The VA has been giving it to vets for PTSD associated nightmares/terrors as well). Anyway, so far so good. In my experience so far, I still dream, but the dreams are pretty forgettable. It's definitely helping to ease my anxiety over falling asleep. Apparently it reduces the effect of Adrenalin while you sleep, which can cut down on or eliminate night terrors. It seems to help my tics too, while it's still in my system during the day, but it wears off after a while and they get worse again (This stuff has a short half life, so it's traditionally taken three times a day for people with high blood pressure... I only take it at bedtime). Anyway, I hope that helps.

Hi! Did you properly work through your childhood trauma? If not, that might help. Did you try sleeping with someone you trust next to you? Or maybe one of those teddybears with the sound of a heartbeat, that they make for babies? I have no idea if it'll help you, but you asked for suggestions. ☺ How are you doing with this now, I see the video is a year old?
