They don’t start up as fast in my opinion, with that being said they do start pretty darn good though! I have read in several forums that the patent for the JH is due to expire soon. Wonder if there’s any truth to these people’s claims?
It's amazing how bait companies get us,particularly with bladed jigs. Someone is definitely gonna argue this but they are all the same thing. They all vibrate the same. Some start faster than others but i dont believe it equates to more fish catches. I've even heard guys say some vibrate at different frequencies, lol. Maybe but this is all about getting more money out of our pockets. Hell ive been guilty of it. Which one catches more fish....the one you throw the most.
I 99% agree. This might be a bit long but stick with me and maybe someone can try to replicate my testing and get some more data. They all (mostly)vibrate the same and they vary in how quick they start the vibrating but I have a pond that for whatever reason the fish love all chatter baits for like 6months out of the year. So i can reliably land fish with em. I took an original chatter bait, one of the minis, a jackhammer, and this Scheels brand chatter bait all out on my kayak to see what the differences were. The jackhammer. Tried and true, if you put 15 bucks into i guarantee it will work for you, ive had mine for well over a year and its still doing great. Vibrates immediately when i start my retrieve and in my testing all the bites i got on it when pitching it under over hangs happeened within about 2 seconds my retieve starting. The original. Very viable for sure. I would say i had a bit more trouble skipping it up under the overhangs but that might be because its weight is more focused on the head than the jackhammer that has a thicker hook at the tail end. All and all though the bites were pretty constistent at about 4 or 5 turns or basically 3 to 5 seconds depending on my speed of retrieve. Mini. I looovve the minis for when its late wither early prespawn or fall when it starts getting cooler. Gets all the littler fish active. I have pretty much the exact same experience between the mini and the original but i will say the mini is much easier to get into harder spots and that typically will net me a better and faster bite. When throwing to the exact same spots...similar times though as the original. The scheels brand. Personally, i didnt like the feel of it. The vibrating felt...lazy? Maybe just not as sharp of a vibrating feel? Idk how to describe it just not as attention grabbing. This lure it was closer to 8 seconds or so...most of the prime spot for a bit would be behind the bait when the fish finally grabbed it. But for 5 bucks...ehhh. wasnt bad, id just pick the original or a mini over it. Hopefully youve stuck with my long winded response and maybe you have some feed back.
the evo also doesn't have that same erraticness as the Jackhammer. it runs straight more like the stealth blade.. I personally will stick with jackhammer..
but you are failing to mention that evo doesn't have the same erratic action as a jackhammer, the evo is actually more like stealthblade.. stop selling the story it's very similar to a jackhammer it certainly isnt sir..
People don't buy jackhammers for the bait keeper and hook length. They buy them because the blade starts up as soon as you start reeling. That's something nothing else on the market does.
Honestly the original chatterbait blade was the same just hook wasn’t great and snap. They switch the line tie on them to make them worse bc they was putting the line tie on the jackhammer which is kinda shitty imo.
Came super close to buying one yesterday . Never used one but may have to try it out .
It’s amazing I caught more bass than I can count on it. I caught 3 in an hour mid day today
That’s not how the hey came up with the evo..
This dude hardly knows any of the products he talks about lol. I'll keep slanging that jackhammer
Strike king rage blade was always better

Completely agree. I’ve only noticed a difference with blade colors.

Sure does it has a snap just like the jackhammer
Honestly the erraticness isn’t what I’m looking for. I think using boot tail swimbaits isn’t better than the straight tail options.
Ever have trouble getting snagged and loosing alot of chatterbaits? Its the most snagged/lost lure i have lol
JH selling for $17.99
Evos sell for 9.99

I remember when chatterbaits were $5-7. The other $8-10 was spent on soft plastics and and 3 pack of skirts 😢
Chatterbaiys are still 7$ lol jackhammers aren’t. They have tungsten heads and better hooks
15 99 is crazy i got mines for 5$
Your trailers upside down😂
No it wasn't...
It gives a wider kick when upside down, I do it for swimjigs as well
The best way to run a paddletail on a chatterbait is upside-down.
@GENERAL even if it were upside down he’s doing that for a reason, not sure if that’s sarcastic or what, try it he knows what he’s doing lol
What “pro” salesman sold you guys on changing the intended action of your paddle tails?
What we catching with those?
Pine and bassss
General ZoD8… you just learned a valuable swim bait/trailer lesson.
