I am a right hander and I agree it is not efficient casting. I do use left handed BFS casting reels. Me being right handed is probably because of early ABU Ambassador casting reels of the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s that were configured mostly right handed. Thus I learned using my right hand for bait casting. It is a very hard and expensive inefficient habit to break. I have one fishing friend who reels with both hands daily. He claims his hand gets tired of cranking after several hours, then switches to the other hand for pain relief. This fishing friend has many extra rod and reel combos in his boat.
@darrinsloppieejoefranklin6511 I probably know how you feel. I grew up, literally from age 3, using spinning reels, with the handle on the left. I got a spin cast reel at age 10, with the handle on the right, I HATED IT. I'm Team Left-Hand Baitcaster all the way!
I've been fishing my entire life, but just started using The Chatterbait. recently. It reminds me of a lure I used in the 70s and 80s called a. "Dirtybird". Very good lure, lol!! But I just wanted to thank you for this video which oughta be helpful to me and lots of other fishermen who might be nee to the. Chatterbait. Thank You!! You have a great channel!! Subscribed and liked!!
I like using oversized plastics on really small chatterbaits. It creates the ability to float it off the bottom just right at a super, super slow retrieve. The only problem I find is that the fish swallow them really deep, almost unable to get out of the throat without injuring the fish
I'm a avid fly fisherman and so i can throw my fly line either hand but best right handed by far but once my line and fly are adrift i just switch hands to whatever is going on mostly right again i suppose but once i have a fish on it goes straight to my left hand and reel right handed but if i dont put the fish on the reel and just strip the fish in i keep the rod in my right hand and strip with my left hand haha. Sounds like a big mess even explaining now but thats how i fish it and it works fine. At times it works out better really being able to fish either hand under certain circumstances. But if im fishing a spinning rod and reel and say fishing a stream with lures and spinners i can cast either hand but feel the need to always hold the rod left hand and reel with the right. Strange but again it works for me hahaha
I'm going to a saltwater pond this weekend, and I love the tip on using a chatterbait for Reds. What colors do you recommend, and is it preferred without a skirt?
Jack hammer vibrates immediately and yes it should if it’s not doing that you may move it out of the strike zone before it even starts to vibrate reducing its effectiveness
I want my predominant hand to be holding the rod and reel and non predominant reeling it in. Just doesn't feel natural to have the fight and hold on with your weak side.
Love the left hand retreive !! I dont understand why all right handed people don't use it blows my mind. Thanks Miles great video!!
Totally agree!
Right specially flipping and pitching why would you want to keep switching hands

As a right-handed man, I've tried the left hand retrieve and was miserable. It was awkward and uncomfortable. Would take time to get use to.

Excellent presentation. Thanks.
You mentioned using it for reds. What about specks?

Any one else's video
Yeah just use your soft plastics they're bigger and cheaper although the elastomer is pretty good
Great info!
“Chatter bait system” 😂
I Like the zman products like the actual chatter baits but the trailers that that is being shown when they get hot they turn into literally mush
So it should always vibrate? I just bought a new faster reel because the only time I could get it to vibrate was when I popped it.

Trimmed Biospawn Exostick is awesome for a trailer!
👍👍👍 totally agree with left handed baitcaster seen lots of anglers with right hand then pick up a spinning rod with is always left hand
Outstanding video & top shelf presentation. I'm subscriber #830 now
@zman hey the snaps on your evo suck!! Ive had 4 bend out on me just from ripping it thru grass!!!

100% Agree
It's too late for me. I bought all the right-handed reels, but yes, I agree. I just learned the hard way
I feel that way for a jerk rod myself. Have a lefty reel. I can agree to a degree. With my chatter set up I use a right handed baitcaster.
Praying for you and your family brother 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️
How about one made weedless 🤔 it would come in handy. Like a chatter bait Z Man work the best. There's only one Z Man.
You didn’t mention Walleye?! Come on now lol.
new sub good info
