    Z-Man makes a lot of innovative product for to purchase and use to catch fish. Many of its competitors have also made products to do just the same. With that as the understanding its seems that Z-Man’s reasoning for making the EVO chatter bait is for it to capture the buying attention of those who, for whatever reason, are not buying the Jackhammer. There seems to be no technological reason for making the EVO product. The marketing of the EVO seems only to be that it has enough Jackhammer technology to be sold at a price point significantly less than the Jackhammer. Furthermore all of those who are no longer buying Jackhammers or have declared to never buy Jackhammers now can buy Jackhammer technology at a comparatively less expensive price point. What do you think? Talk back to me in the comment section below. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

    From what I understand, the EVO has a bigger hook, a coated blade that won’t chip like the jackhammer, and (I believe) a better snap. How it’s cheaper I have no idea.

      Riiiggghhhttt! I now believe the changes were made to reflect the difference in the licensing agreement. Zman couldn’t continue to make the same style since the license agreement expired. Still doesn’t explain how they can be less expensive. 🤷🏿

    I don’t know about the EVO vs Jackhammer thing yet, because it’s early in the game for the former. But once in a while, the knockoff / “also ran” out produces the original because of some intangible. With fishing lures, maybe it’s the sound, or how stable they run at all speeds, slight differences in shape or hookup ratio… you just don’t know until you know. But your point, Sir, is well taken !

    • @familybudgetfisherman
      @familybudgetfisherman  23 дня назад

      Choosing a jidhead weight is mostly based on water conditions. For example, if your water is moving fast and/or if you are fishing deeper than 20 feet, a 1/4, 3/16, or even a 3/8 ounce may be necessary for you to use. For the overwhelming majority of your applications however you could use a 1/8 ounce jig head. A good beginner tip is if you are throwing bass jigs, stick with the 1/4 ounce or 3/8 ounce. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

    From what I can remember I think the patent was running out for the Jackhammer so that was one of the reasons the Evo came to be.

    • @familybudgetfisherman
      @familybudgetfisherman  6 месяцев назад

      As I mentioned to another subscriber, what you say may be true. Unfortunately, Z-Man is not promoting the Evo with that information. So my conclusion is to just buy as many jackhammers as possible until there are no more to purchase. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

  • @simonbernard4312
    @simonbernard4312 6 месяцев назад

    They made the EVO similar to the jackhammer reason being that the jackhammer is made in collab with Evergreen plus Bret Hite and Morizo to which they probably pay royalties or some amount at least ,which jacks the price of the jackhammer .
    Now if z-man want to make it more affordable (so they can sell more )would it be easier to ''copy'' their own jackhamer and sell ''their version '' of the Jackhammer without sharing profits with someone else and selling mor lures because a lot of people will not pay 17 $ plus for a bait.

    • @familybudgetfisherman
      @familybudgetfisherman  6 месяцев назад +1

      As I mentioned to other subscribers, I believe your perspective. I just wish that they had advertised this new bait. However, it still inferior to the jackhammer. So my conclusion is to just simply buy as many jackhammers as possible until they’re no longer available for sale. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

    Mr. Currington, I don't suppose this is the right place but I would like to ask you what sort of rod I might want for what some call "a worm rod." I listen to a lot of You Tube videos from lots of different guys and to be honest, all I get from them is a lot of "number salad". They go on at length with numbers, lengths etc etc and most of them have different numbers. Its just confusing for me. What do you like to use (keep it simple please)?

    • @familybudgetfisherman
      @familybudgetfisherman  6 месяцев назад

      I will take the question anyway!😉. Although it's long, I hope I made this more simple.😂
      I base my "worm" rod not on the bait, but on the hook and the power of the rod. If I primarily use thicker (superline) hooks than I will use a heavy action rod. If I primarily use thinner (finesse) hooks then I will use a medium power rod. I tend to prefer a medium heavy action rod because it can handle regular, superline, and finesse hooks. Not as well the the respective heavy action or medium action, but if my budget demands I make a decision, I am saving money with that edium heavy action rod. I will also use braided line with a fluorocarbon leader.
      In general when a rod is named as a "worm" rod or "spinnerbait" rod or even a "crankbait" rod, that just means that the manufacturer made that rod based on that bait. That said, all baits in the weight rating of a rod can be thrown on the rod with some fish catching success. Currently rods are made so well that a rod with a technique specific name is more of a marketing gimmick since a worm rod can present a craw bait, tube bait, or even a square bill with maximum precision. . It doesn't matter whether it is a long rod or short rod. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

    LMFAO Man, you couldn't be more wrong when it comes to bladed jigs. Each bladed jig swims different, sounds different as well the start-up of the jig when you reel it in. I can throw a Jack hammer all day and not get bit but then tie on an Evo and it gets destroyed because the sound and vibration is way different. Huge difference between them all. Also, if you are buying jackhammers at 7 bucks, they are either the lesser colors that dot sell and getting marked down to get rid of them or you found a gold mine and the resell would make you bank.

    • @familybudgetfisherman
      @familybudgetfisherman  3 месяца назад

      There may be performance differences between the EVO and the Jackhammer. I did not address performance at all in the video. Zman is not advertising any kind of superior performance of the EVO over the Jackhammer. They are only promoting the EVO’s version of the Jackhammer.
      Your response gives me the sense that you’re new to the channel. Welcome!
      Based for commentary on my Jackhammer purchases , I never asserted that the retailer was selling me Jackhammers for seven dollars. Once you become familiar with my channel, you will learn that most of the time items that I purchase are full priced or discounted based upon the season of sales of that retailer. I have a technique on how I make the purchases so that my out-of-pocket price did not exceed $7 in that particular purchase. Due to inflation, that same purchase would set me back about $9 per Jackhammer.
      As for the colors, I have every color sold on the tackle warehouse website for the last three years.
      Lastly, I give away most of the equipment that I purchased. For example, I’ve already given away more than 50 jackhammers. In 2023 we gave away more than $5000 worth of fishing equipment. We hope to do more this year. This is my way of telling the Lord “thank you Jesus” for blessing me to be a blessing to others.
      I hope you’re willing to stick around. It will be nice to have you as a continued supporter of the channel.
