Everyone back then had such cool nicknames. Today it would be “Teddy the McDonald’s Big Cheese” or “Latte Laurence” which doesn’t have the same ring to it as Vlad “Hater of Sunlight”.
Dracula ‼️ The Master ‼️
Teddy the McDonald's BigMcPlant and Soy Latte Laurence
How about Volodymyr, bringer of nuclear, rainbow unicorns?
Charles Martel or better known as Charles "The Hammer" and you can only emphasize his last name lol
@BandofHorses 1985 no❓❗️❓❗️❓❗️❓
I found this channel last night and now I can't stop, it's been like 4 hours what have you done?
Same
Suicide not allowed
That Hater of Sunlight was a proper evil villain of the highest order.
At least Andronikos died in a way befitting such a demonic ruler
And had a song written about
him by UB 40. LOL.
Sooner or later most tyrants pay for their sickness. Notice I said most.
How does this relate to that imperialist war monger?
Was waiting for the usual villains but was pleasantly surprised with the choices
Such a fantastic channel
Alice the Vicious is also worth mentioning. She was in the group of Normans of Strongbow, that occupied Ireland, broke the legs and arms of people and threw them into the sea. Alice herself killed 70 men in one afternoon, because her lover had died. Also the Icelandic Viking known as "The Childlover", but that's because he didn't like tossing toddlers up in the air and impale them on spears. Vikings have tons of colorful characters, with names like Bloodaxe, Bluetooth, Forkbeard etc.
Makes me think of B’hrian Bloodaxe from Discworld
Boneless
@@infinitejest441 In Norwegian, it's better, since it can mean both Boneless and Leg"less"/Nolegs
Your videos always make my Friday more fun! Thanks for your hard work!
I love your content. I appreciate weird history and how it relates to us today.
you actually like this still happening, wowsers
Do you know why it relates so much?
Because we never ever learn, and people don't change.
In many aspects we are actually moving backwards, we must be pretty lonely about doing that in the universe.😏

Just for fun try history. 😏
As horrible and gut wrenching as Andronikos's horrible treatment at the end was... well, he did clearly have a love of pain and death, and although others did not share his enjoyment of it he still gave it out widely and freely to so many others, so as much as torture and death aren't most people's cup of tea it would have been a terrible injustice not to repay a small part of his bountiful charity, unusual as his sense of charity was, back to him. I'm sure he thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated it towards the end.
Appreciate all the details in these videos: what a time it was.
Thank you for compiling this.
This was really interesting and insightful. Seems there's not enough videos highlighting people during this time in history (aside from the usual ones). Well done :). I hope you decide to do more vids similar to this.
Recently finished reading the The Leopards of Normandy series, in which the character of Mabel appears. Her wicked deeds are re-told in a format of a historic novel. Quite an enjoyable read overall, if anyone is interested - mind you, the books center around the Dukes of Normandy rather than her.
Every video is sooooo interesting and so well done 👏 thank you so much ❤️
👌👍😍
I find these so fascinating. But I find they make really good nap audio. Helps me fall right asleep for some reason
Another great one!
Such fun times. How the human race got this far I have not a clue.
Just waiting for Armageddon ☄️🌋☢️⚛️☠️
The occasional cull seems to be good for us. Survival of the fittest.
Because most aren't idiots like you judging everyone by such a small amount of people throughout history...

Love this channel. Keep up the amazing content 👍
Yeah but what about the Evil Medieval Individuals who AREN'T long gone?? Omg just got chills...
Some of those Windsors live too long.
I'm not saying they're vampires, but I'm not ruling it out either LOL
This channel is amazing.
Always a great source for suggestions...got some obnoxious neighbors... 😁
Same lol
This video is simply superb, a fun angle, worst people ...
I mean, it helps to know the range of worstness that has been going on 😳😨👍
No such word dipshit.
One of the best channels ever.
Been subbed my boy!
Brilliant channel ❤
Amazing channel
Well Done Double M‼️💯👍🏻👍🏻
Love the way these are both so well put together and illustrated, another great end to the friday with the medieval madness feeling, watched each one but I want to brush up from beginning, feel a marathon might had to be done here. 😊
Respect. Get into your chair or couch, set the wood on fire in your oven, seeing the flames, turn on your tv, go to RUclips and watch medieval madnesses and have a glass of whiskey. Sounds chilling. Can I Joyn? 😁 sorry for grammatical and spelling errors, I am not native English speaker, btw you look 😊
Same!!!!
As a person with portuguese background, I'd like to see more videos on Portugal, since there is such a rich history.

This channel is really well put together. The content is really interesting , you must put so much research and time into it. In my humble opinion your videos should have a lot more views. I shall subscribe to your channel and look forward to learning more about medieval history. Keep up the brilliant work your doing 👏
Heck yeah! Love this stuff
The video I mean not the stuff they did. Oops

"Hater of sunlight" XD Sounds like a gamer
Never learned this part of history, thanks!
I expected you to include Gilles de Rais on this lol
Hater of sunlight 😂shall be my teenage daughters name lol
Hater of sunlight is what they call me
History has it's monsters just as today
I'm interested in how they managed their social status and were able to move around regions and connect with others of their same status. It's clear that most of us will never know the world of the highest class besides their modes of transportation, such as yachts, private jets, etc.
You can find out, it just requires research and knowing where to start looking for info.
Mabel de Bellême is the ancestor of Eleanor of Castile (wife of Edward I ‘Longshanks’ of England & mother of his children) so if you’re descended from her she’s also your ancestor.
Longshanks was also thoroughly unpleasant. He would have fitted in well with his in-laws.
"tied to a post" a bit of laughter there, chap.
For not having any cars or airplanes, these Royals sure got around didn't they!?!? 👀😆
Andronicus was a cretin. Alexis and John and Manny were all pretty danged good.
Also known as mega-jerks. 😵💫
My like and comment, Great informative video. I wounder what the percentage of "the dark triad" was amongst the leadership of the old world. If it was in fact the same as today 30 - 40%
What badassery
Accursed. Haters of Sunlight and Monster. So my fellow gamers and I according to everyone else
Great video man but do you mind leaving the name's of the historical figures you are talking about so it's easier to look them up further if we wish?
The Byzantines had the capacity for near-infinite cruelty. Blindings all around!
Considering how some these shacked up with European royalty it fuels the interest in their psychology
There just ain't enough room for insane individuals to gain power... Ca La Vi
Those first few remind me of Rasputin by Boney M.
“Oh those Russians…”
Was Andronicus related to Brave Sir Robin?
Okay, the guy with the beard, if you look down to his belt us is a golden sword handle, and at the hilt of the sword, you will be delighted to see a puppy dog head. I think the hilt was supposed to look the way it does, and so goes the cartoon puppy on the butt-end of a death machine. I mean, maybe it's just me, but that looks like a golden dog head, and the dulled edges of the bust make it look like a cartoon. Other thing: What are the things at the end of the pommel of a sword, the kind in the picture to be sure, but are they part of the handle, or added on after? I don't understand swords...
I’m glad we live in 21st century.
Fair do’s there were some right Bobby Dazzlers around in these times it was a bit like GOT ! All that was missing was the dragons.
Whoaa!!! Ach mensch!!!😬😮
Count Dracula is The Master ‼️
Great video
This is MacBeth x 1,00,000,000,000.
Now them was some fine decent Christians back in them days. Full of.love and forgiveness.
Andronicus was one slippery customer
...sigh...mankind...
(too much listening to Evil-coupled with their own desires...)
The violence in the last story reminds us all that chimpanzies are our closest relatives🙁
Just want to add some suggestion: may I ask for some subtitles? I'm not fully native with english language, more like 3rd language spoken. It will help for us to understand some of the words and names that involved in the video. Thank you :)
I agree. The closed captions are useless but hilarious!
'' hater of sunlight '' - didnt know they had gamers back then.
his brother… Gleb?
what‘s the name? i only heard Gleb😭
You heard correctly, it's a Slavic name
Byzantine rulers could be pretty cruel. Blinding and mutilation was one of their specialties.
Nothing like some easy viewing😅😅
So there’s this guy named Spider-Poke…
I don’t see how the throne could possibly be more important than a brother.. but I guess they grew up with different standards and it was just a different time back then.
Could you write the names on the screen? Can't understand their names
about 95% of medieval irish kings did all of this and worst as par for the course of seizing power
Caligula or Nero perhaps
Wait, why is there no explanation of why a nun was married?
Only one person thinks these buggers are being framed! Thats a record!!!
Karma...
Its what happens when there is too much power in too few hands. Their interests diverge from population and the people are only tools for the egos of the powerful.
Why do all kings look one of two people?
Russia is full of people like these.
if they had electronic entertainment of today then they would never do all this
They probably would lmao. The only thing stopping alot of suppressed conscious psychotics are the laws put in place
Any relation to Waltzing Matilda?
@9:22 😝
Henry VIII
I'm trying to look these people up and it's not even giving me nothing. The closed captioning is not spelling their names correctly. I want to do my own research on these people myself.😠
Interesting information.
The narrator needs instruction in English pronunciation ... "trough" - tr-Off, carp-A-thian mountains et alia.
Why stop at medieval
I magine being the 12 years old girl he married 😢
That must be your ultimate dream.. being a powerless girl marrying a prince
If you like this, ask a 12 year old afghan girl about marriage old men
When your character gets the "spawn of satan" achievement in CK3
Mont gomeiri lol, really dude? Why not Montgomery just like in English
The way you red coats pronounce some of your words is astonishing...
As a Brit I want to know, what words exactly?
@@joby2174 As an American who speaks English, all of them, sincerely
This is what English sounds like when the words are pronounced the right way.
@@lepusistlich6930 please, your Rs hang more than a noose and your Ws have an R. Furthermore, it's Z (zee) not zed..... what's with you guys? Oh well. It's all in good fun. It's like you mixed real English, with Gaelic and Welsh and then added even more cynicism, if that were possible. I live in the Midwest here in the states and we have the accent that draws all the call centers and Hollywood/News anchors try to emulate. Not saying it's the best but the least offensive with the least accent towards pronunciation. So when I hear him say Byzantines with his wild British accent, it's hilarious
Red Coats...
We pronounce them correctly. 'Centrifugal' is one in particular that you Septics butcher, brilliantly.
These guys really don't seem like they would have been very pretty...
you mean like the vatican
Have you ever thought of coordinating your dialogue with the pictures? Not the Carpathians. Lived there. Looks more Rockies.
Trump, putin and the tax man
Ukraine 🇺🇦 voted him the best one ever...... yea Vladimir Putin not so bad....
And this is strange, because Yaroslav the Wise wasn't actually a Ukrainian. At that time there was simply no such nation. He was also the ruler of the three main key cities of Ancient Rus (Kievan Rus) Rostov, Novgorod and Kiev, the first two were never part of Ukraine.

Q#$Q $EQD Ukraine
Except that the Ukraine didn't even exist until about 100 years ago.
You are correct. There was Small Russia and New Russia that were parts of the Russian Empire. An independent Ukrainian Republic was only formed in 1917 and lasted only until 1919, and even then it was a bunch of unstable territories with multiple warlords hacking each other up.
Well, more like 70 yrs ago.... b4 that it was Russia.
