Apparently because authors would be paid by the letter, more words began getting more silent letters, often making them confusing to look at. Oiseaux (bird) is pronounced "wah-zoh", ironically at first glance not a single letter even phonetically matches up to make that word match up 😂 not sure if that reason is entirely true but I've heard that being brought up many times

Sleep paralysis is a well known, normal but disturbing, sleep phenomenon. The body is asleep while the mind is awake. And it causes the sense of horror we have blamed on "evil" for as long as we've been here. Usually a sense that an evil presence is menacing us.

She had a history of self harm (a belt so tight her skin grew over it) and lived in extremely stressful times. Of course we can’t say for sure as there’s no proof regarding the existence or non-existence of god(a) but it really seems like she made a schizophrenic disorder. Religious hysteria was extremely common. Still is. DV may have been a thing with how common it was though the cut off part in your video makes it sound like her husband died.
Great video! I’d like to add that you shouldn’t sweat not being able to pronounce words. It’s important to try, especially with names, but your tongue didn’t develop to make those sounds. Those who get offended are just pompous. Keep up the awesome work!

Glad our collective knowledge concerning mental wellness is coming around in our generation, to remove any stigma attached and encouraging all to seek help. It's okay not to feel okay.
We don't judge those with, say, diabetes or dyslexia, so why degrade those who see the world differently because of trauma, brain chemistry, or a host of other reasons. Who knows- maybe one day, science will concretely prove the existence of other dimensions, and the concept of a "demon attack" won't sound so crazy and out-there.

Actually «Reims» is pronounced essentially like the word «Rinse». This is a pretty disparity between spelling and prononciation, even for French, but alas it is true

4:28 when I was a teenager, the house we lived in was very haunted by evil spirits and for whatever reason, they focused on me and did their best to drive me nuts every night. Amazingly after several months, I heard a pleasant voice telling me that it would not go on much longer. And it didn’t, at least not every night nor to that degree. At 4:28, when the narrator said the French lady heard the exact same sentence, I was stunned! Can’t help but wonder if it was the same good spirit that spoke those same words to me.

Regardless of what it is, it’s wholesome to hear that she remained charitable until her death throughout all of her experiences.
