Good video. Didn't you activate Stamina mode to save battery when battery is low ? Stamina mode shows down the phone. But me I noticed others problems and i wanna return it seriously : * The photo in basic mode is better on my 1 III with more details. and more natural. Those of 1 V are pixelated when you zoom in hard on an image taken (probably because of pixel binning). Other thing : The 1 V applies a light orange filter sometimes with main camera especially at night. * The sound is also clearer and more precise with more mids and highs on my Xperia 1 III. * The optical zoom also produces photos with less natural colors...a little washed out. So that zoom is useless. * The AlwaysOnDisplay has also been removed (no longer customizable with images) as well as the Notif LED. * The sceen was also better. On 1 V, the black colors are darker than on 1 III. So i prefer Xperia I III so much more because it was a more finished product.
thank you , Yes I had Stamina Mode on. thank you for explaining about Stamina Mode. The Zoom Photos sometimes are a hit and miss. some people did mention they prefer the Xperia 1 III.

My Xperia 5iv over heats as well. Well maybe next gen they can fix the overheating issues. It just sux that it over heats when using the camera or heavy gaming. I've run into all these issues before. Best kne is using Skype and when the camera is open it slows the phone performance to shit.
The minor issues can be frustrating , for example when I am trying to take pictures quickly the photo app will freeze or take time to load. I hope they fix those issues.
I have an Xperia 5 IV and mine has a few issues. It will restart itself at random, sometimes multiple times a day. I cannot use the Internet while on a phone call. (Like dial up Internet) It overheats while doing pretty easy tasks. Multiple software glitches such as the navigation buttons disappearing so I have to restart the phone to have them appear again. I think it's pretty crazy that company as big as Sony can't get rid of these issues.

My Xperia 1IV overheats everytime I recharge it. It's normal to notice the temperature of the phone rising while charging, but this is too much. But no problems at all during normal usage!
@@GideonNtxbeni No, never had such problems! I also tested it. I went for a walk in the park last summer (2022) to record a 4K 120fps video on a hot day. Yo, I bought it to replace my iphone 14 pro as Iphone is the worst phone I ever had so many bugs, and I still have it I don't have any issues with sony, I use it heavily and I can tell you that phone doesn't overheat doesn't slow down and I usually go down to 10% of battery before I charge it, phone gets warm while recording 4k120f but it's obvious as bitrate is higher than on iphone, but I dont have any pop ups alerts that phone overheats, my only one big minus so far is that he screen is noticeable worse than on iphone 14 pro, and actually My iPhone with YT has few weird bugs, one when phone switches appearance from light to dark I have it set to automatic, I have to restart app cuz everything is dark lol, screen rotation doesn't work sometimes and it also locks sometimes at full screen, so does on Xperia so I believe it's RUclips not a phone, anyway very happy with the phone and now just trying to get rid of iPhone for good price lol
Thanks your Feedback. Weeks after I uploaded the video, I updated the software the issues have stopped. Only a little bug here and there on whats app. The locking on full screen has stopped. But so far is the phone experience is great. The Sony is a very good phone.I hope you find a buyer lol
If it seems to be overheating, put it into airplane mode and reboot. See if that fixes it. These Snapdragon gets hot and the phone is very thin. Sony trends to just close the app whereas others like Samsung or Apple will throttle the performance to prevent overheating. Which is the better solution? Depends on the user. But Qualcomm really need to look at thermals when designing the next chip.

Always be cautious with software updates. Just today apple released iOS 17.3 and it bricked people's iPhones....so they had to pull the update. At least Sony didn't brick your phone....
I experience it in Xperia 1 III as well, and it has to do with both Sony's thermal design and software. Using a custom ROM, the heat got way much more controlled but it still overheats from time to time. Another thing is: the phone doesn't have many heat dissipation methods, and Sony by making the devices so light and narrow, it ends up compromising the thermal design of the phone. I thought it would be a 1 III/IV problem only because both SD888 and 8 Gen 1 are manufactured by Samsung, but it's interesting to witness this behaviour from a phone using a 8 Gen 2 which has both better thermals and better efficiency.

Hi, does this phone really lack the notification LED that previous Xperias used to have?
So far so good for me. You might have received a bad one. I have not experienced any of the highlighted issues on mine.
I'm curious. Does this still give you these problems? If so how often? Also for anybody else that has this phone, does the Xperia 1 V give you any problems? If so what kind? I've been doing research on phones because I want to get a new main phone when I get the money. I've been eyeing a few models. Xperia being one of them. I just want to get a satisfactory phone for my needs and whatnot. Please let me know what's up.
It doesn't give me problems anymore , it's now fine. At the time when I made the video I had issues but now no more bugs.
Good video. Didn't you activate Stamina mode to save battery when battery is low ? Stamina mode shows down the phone.
But me I noticed others problems and i wanna return it seriously :
* The photo in basic mode is better on my 1 III with more details. and more natural.
@@GideonNtxbeni is it your first Xperia ?
Where did you see that some people say they prefer 1 I III ? reddit ?
@@yacsae6351 Facebook groups , Reddit. This is my first Xperia , I came from a Pixel 3XL then it bricked on me the day Xperia 1 V was announced😂. I wanted to get the Xperia 1 IV at that time it was £449 for a used but in mint condition, the overheating issues put me off. So I waited for the mark V.
(Like dial up Internet)
It overheats while doing pretty easy tasks.
Multiple software glitches such as the navigation buttons disappearing so I have to restart the phone to have them appear again.
I think it's pretty crazy that company as big as Sony can't get rid of these issues.
i got mine last month, and have not had any overheating issues....but some weird times that it got warm when i didnt think it should. for instance, playing music with the screen turned off in my pocket i noticed the speakers/bottom of the phone got warm (no hot) but still odd and concerning. ive had other very odd issues here and there
Thank you for your honesty. So far the overheat has stopped , I just have random small issues here n there.
My Xperia 1IV overheats everytime I recharge it. It's normal to notice the temperature of the phone rising while charging, but this is too much. But no problems at all during normal usage!
Have You had any problems with photo pro app crashing on your phone ?
@@GideonNtxbeni No, never had such problems! I also tested it. I went for a walk in the park last summer (2022) to record a 4K 120fps video on a hot day. The screen reduced its brightness in less than a minute, but the app kept working for more than 3 minutes. The alert of overheating appeared, and I closed the app by myself. But in general usage with the camera, in normal conditions, no problems 👍🏻
I also own a 1 V. Never encountered these problems. Maybe somehow your device has a faulty processor? 🤷🏻
It doesn't have a faulty processor. Some people were experiencing some of the minor issues , some had no problems at all like you said. It's strange but so far I have updated to the latest updates no problems so far.
Great phone and battery life , the main thing that i had a oroblem with was the auto and basic mode over exposing the sky etc . Manual mode and program mode are amazing. I wish more phones have this form factor. I have not used the video for more than a couple minutes at a time
Btw great video
Thank you , Manual mode is the best.
Sad that an OVERPRICED phone like this has such problems.
So same here, ising a my only phone. I've had issues with full screen videos. I have had a few issues with a few apps in general, not wanting to load up, or taking forever to load. The camera has never shut down on me or the device overheating however but, ive not really been recording long videos
No overheating problems.
No problem with Bravia Core.
No problem with RUclips.
No problem with Photo Pro/Video Pro.
Yes the Xperia 1 V gets a little slower when the battery gets under 20%, but nothing critical.
That's good to hear that your phone doesn't have issues. What version of Xperia 1 V model do you have ? And when did you get it ?
@@GideonNtxbeniIt's the XQ-DQ54 version. I received it when it came out in Denmark on July 4. I had a lot of overheating problems with the Xperia 1 IV, but the Xperia 1 V has been a great phone, with only minor glitches and no overheating problems.
Beautiful video. Thank you for this review
Any phone is overheating sometimes
Thanks for the video. I won't buy it. I was undecided before watching this video
Mine had issues with a lot of apps the first time i opened them, but once stabilized after 3 days can t confirm but that it goes slow under 5%. Everything else is butter smooth
Do you ever struggle with the RUclips app refusing to exit? When I made the review that used to be the struggle since I updated it last week it has stopped for now 😂 , hopefully it stays like that.
@@GideonNtxbeni not on this phone, but on my former pixel 7 pro i had exactly what u describe. It s an android thing i guess, or the yt app
thank you 🙏🏻
💯 thanks
Right on point bro. Good video.
thank you Bro
Maybe check the Stamina settings for low battery slow down
Mine never overheated, even shooting 4K 120 here and there for hours in direct sunlight. I was pretty surprised
No issues with software also and I use mine pretty heavily in my opinion
Thank you I will check the stamina settings
Not asked, but I'm reporting that I have no problems with my daily driver LG V35 😊.
You young folk need to upgrade.
Hi bro , I haven't faced any kind of problems with my 1 mark v.
Hi Bro , that's good to hear , I made a 5month review linked pinned on the comments. The phone is now better for me. When did you get your device ?
@@GideonNtxbeni almost 5 months.
@@satwindersingh5028 that's good bro , how you finding the phone so far ?
Suprub... sony Xperia I v and Huawei p 60 pro ))))
I got the 5ii and not rrally got these problems. Yes the camera did crash a few times but im alteady using it got years. Im a huge sony fanboy since using this 5ii. . Will pprbbaly biy another sony in a year or mayb 2 uear
Which Sony will you upgrade to in the future ?
@@GideonNtxbeni most likely the Sony Xperia 5 series. Cause i love smaller phones. And i need a headphone jack for cheap sony mp3 earbuds for riding a motorbike. Sd card is nice. And the Asus zenfone is just not that good when it comes to Photography. It does still have some things to desire for though. Cutting the zoom lens on the 5 series might make me change to the 1 series but i dont know yet
@@GideonNtxbeni btw i have a question for you. Can you when in basic camera mode with burst mode in still make single shots with the physical shutter button? This is not possible with the 5ii. They could have just make a half second delay in it. That would be so nice.
This camera does not overheat after 5 minutes. Find another review that says it does?
This video is based on my review of the phone, I own the phone. I am sharing my experience of using it after 3 months. Some other people even commented on the minor issues that they were having with the phone so why should another review ?
One way to prevent overheating you should clear out apps you used before charging
Thank you I will try that tip
Always be cautious with software updates. Just today apple released iOS 17.3 and it bricked people's iPhones....so they had to pull the update.
At least Sony didn't brick your phone....
Floating mode getting stuck and overheating when I was filming inside with an external monitor.
The floating mode is really frustrating. Does your photo pro app crash sometimes ?
@@GideonNtxbeni actually not yet at least.
@@euTechs I hope soon fixes the software soon
@@GideonNtxbeni mine has twice, but that was in VIDEO PRO. Photo pro on the 1 iii solid as a rock
Like,share,take care) tnx man
thank you
Shit!
Mine is coming this afternoon! 😱
Did it arrive ? it's a very good phone
The overheating thing is really bad.
Are you experiencing the same ?
@@tiagomachado5360 thank you for the detailed technical explanation. I hope Sony Fix those issues. So far the random heating issues have stopped since I updated it. I hope it stays like that.
@@GideonNtxbeni Yea, its really bad. Last tie I had to use my nokia x20 to take a video simultaneously with the Sony. My little nokia never overheated and recorded everything. The Sony kept on stopping the app after 2 minutes. Those videos were an hour long. I got like ten minutes of combined footage from the Sony and I can not even repeat that moment because it was real time. Now I got to carry 2 phones.
😊😊😊
Thank you for your video. I won't buy 1 v then
You are welcome , thank you for watchin. What phone you gonna get ?
@@GideonNtxbeni pixel 8 pro or Huawei P60 pro
@@fuuredfin7791 those are good phones. If I were to get rid of this phone I would got for the pixel. I was a pixel user before I got the Xperia. Those phones are smooth.
What's with the mirror?🙄
Whats with the comment ? 🤷🏿♂️
I have this model and this person is wrong, don't do anything he says, he stressed, I am no one other than a Sony 1 v Experia user, there will be many users who will tell him the same thing, he is wrong and now
1. Who is wrong ?
2. What did I tell people to do ?
3. Who is stressed ?
4. Have you watched the entire video ?
5. Have you read the comment section of the mixed reviews of what others said ?
6. Have you read comments on my page of people telling me their device is fine it has no issues and of some who had minor issues and of some telling me they got rid of their devices ?
7. Have you watched the follow up video ?
There are many Sony Xperia users who have watched this video some have told me their devices are fine , some have had issues with their devices , some have got rid of their devices. Sometimes watch the entire video and read the entire comments before you comment.
The reason why I hate Sony, they suck. All of them. I'm not bias of smartphones, all high range phones suck.
Who says that its your fabricated review...😂😂😂😂
What’s fabricated there ?
