So, I picked one of these up last Friday, along with a Sig P226 Enhanced Elite. The first outing with the pair, the Jericho out shot the Sig, hands down. This is an amazing weapon system, that deserves more credibility than it has gotten. I won't lie, this video definitely helped sway my decision to pick one up.
+jbwooten Want to get one myself. Cannot decide between the full sized or the compact. I can see myself getting the compact for CC, and all my other pistols are compacts. But wouldn't mind owning a full sized gun.
I used to own an early model Jericho in 9mm. It was a brilliant gun, just simply brilliant. I got 100% reliability on everytnig I put through it including reloads...
Just bought an IWI Jericho 941 Midsize steel frame. I know the weight detracts for some people but holy crap is it one of the best shooting pistols I've owned. Best pistol I ever shot was a CZ-75 and given the Jericho's design, you can imagine my interest in it. Recoil is flat, shoots accurately, and literally chews through the dirtiest ammo. Love this pistol. IWI isn't shy either showing them abusing their firearms and that was also a major selling point for me. Just a beautiful product.
I've had a full-size,steel 40 S&W Jericho since 2007 when Charles Daly was importing. I regret nothing. Glad to see this solid pistol back on the market in its true form.
I don't care for slide mounted safeties either, but on the "Baby Eagles" it's a decocker, so there's no need to manipulate it to deploy the pistol, therefore it's non-issue. Love my Baby Eagle II, underrated handgun.
jconradh I don't believe in "break in periods" on fighting tools. That's why I do these vids, to see if a gun works right out of the box with crappy range ammo. If your life is hanging in the balance, you'll want to know your weapon works -- period. Thanks for the support.
Military Arms Channel Agreed. I bought a Sig P226 two years ago. I took it to the range 20 - 30% of the time, the gun failed to return to battery. I've never owned a modern quality pistol that acted that way, so I called the manufacturer. All they told me was that it needs to be really lubed up :-( ....weak. One should never expect to pay $1000 for a handgun that only works reliably after you fire a 1000 rds through it. I would rather they fired 1000 rounds through it at the factory, and mark the gun up a couple hundred bucks before they sell it to me :-)
Writeinfosetup Sorry to hear that. My 226 fired fine out of the box. Hasn't failed yet- and I only shoot crappy range ammo. Hopefully they will fix it for you.
jconradh It started becoming more reliable after a case of ammo, but I still have issues when I try to run ammo like Liberty Civil Defense. I guess this Sig is just a picky eater :-) I think of it like a child, when it was young, it only liked candy. Now that it's older, it started to like spinach and broccoli. Mine was in .40 SW . What caliber was your 226 in? Maybe the .40 caliber 226s are a bit buggy.
Writeinfosetup Mine is .40 as well, but I did buy the 9mm conversion slide. My P250 was a little finicky at first then it started eating everything I ran through it (no reloads). Glad to hear yours is running better for you!
Bought my Jericho 941 PL last week and took it to the range against my tricked out Glock 34. Benched, the Glock 34 with the EFK Firedragon 3-Port extended barrel and much more won out while mounted. With Ayoob and Weaver stance, the Jericho tied but it wasn't supposed to. We are talking about a duty pistol beating out a competition pistol in a competition! In rapid fire, the Jericho beat my Glock 34. I have fired the CZ-75 in steel and it had more recoil and was less accurate. The Jericho is a sweet gun at a cheaper price than any Gen3 or Gen4 Glock or CZ. Unless one includes the 33 round magazine on Glocks, the Jericho might be the best SHF pistol out there.
Interesting, a polymer frame pistol with less recoil and better accuracy than a steel frame. Was the CZ-75 full size or compact? Also, what's the difference between the Jericho 941 PL that you have and the PSL in the video?
I have one in .40. It's over 20 years old. I'm glad to hear that you like it. Mine is too big for EDC, and my m&p ofcourse doesn't have a safety. I'd like something double single and be able to interchange mags with my old one. The price on them is great also.
Side note, I'm liking the transitions/segues between scenes, and the on screen text. The information is relevant and professionally presented, not overdone, and the film border for the video transitions is a nice touch.
One of the other main detractors from the slide mounted safety on the Jericho was it took up even more room on an already limited area to rack the slide.
Great review! Two days ago, my Jericho 941F surplus handgun arrived in the mail! I'm very excited to try it out. It's from back when they were known at IMI. It's surplus, as in it was used by the Israeli police.
Strike One pistols' barrels don't drop at all. They have a separate locking block that drops while the barrel moves straight back, like the Beretta 92, and similar pistols.
I bought one at a in-door range shop for $299.99 plus tax AND as a BIG PLUS this shop gives the purchaser of any weapon a 30 DAY FREE RANGE TIME. 😯😁👍 It was hardly used as well. Need to take advantage of the FREE RANGE TIME.👍. THANKS FOR THE INFORMATIVE VIDEO but wasn't surprised you would like it. You are one of the FEW TESTERS OPINION THAT I RESPECT. 🤔😯🤗👍
So glad that IWI will have the Jericho back on the market stateside. I hated the Magnum Research Baby Eagle. The steel frame 941 has been a favorite of mine for years. It's easy to carry even without a round in the chamber once you learn the draw stroke taught to all Israeli military.
great video !! , for me you always give the best reviews, no BS , no bla bal bla like so many others ,keep up the good work , we waiting for the full review , thank you !
I know I am late to this discussion but, I just order a Baby Eagle in FS Steel Frame. I bought the Baby Eagle over the Jericho due to the de-cocker mounted on the Slide. I actually wanted a CZ but I wanted the de-cocker so I bought the Baby Eagle. Liked you're review and enjoyed you're explanation on the difference between the Baby Eagle and the Jericho. I do like mine in double action mode.
I have one of the early baby eagle steel frames with the slide safety and it is a heavy beast in .45acp. But it is a sweet range gun. I always enjoy taking it out of the safe. I carry a glock 17 most of the time and a shield m&p for days when clothing is limited. But as a range gun and home defense the IWI Jericho 941 is serving me well.
EAA, Canik and IMI/IWI(among others) produce these pistols which are Tanfoglio copies. Tanfoglio's appear to be cz 75 copies but the only parts that interchange would be the mags between the 75 and tanfoglio copies. Many prefer the Tanfoglio type triggers. I don't blame Mac for not opening that whole can of worms in what is meant to be a brief video. It is good to see a polymer frame offering of this design type.
I am SOOO excited to see these coming into north america! I had a steel frame jericho and loved everything about it. Except for that damn slide safety!
I have an IWI Masada on the way from Classic Firearms, could not pass it up at $459 plus shipping! Now, damn you, I will have to get one of these PSL's to have a compact size hammer fired IWI to go with my striker fired Masada, also have to get a full size steel frame 941 to round out my IWI collection! Hey, why not?????? And thanks for all your great reviews!
The first pistol I bought was a Charles Daly Jericho 941S 9mm import. Its my goto home defense pistol however it's kinda heavy for CCW so I use my G19 for that. I'm glad IWI is releasing a Jericho that doesn't have the 'Baby Eagle' engraving though the lack of a safety decocker on IWI's Jericho is kinda scary to watch MAC do it manually.
Been waiting for him to do one of these for a while. I've got a Baby Eagle 40 S&W, and I love it. Only problem is that the first trigger pull is one of the longest for a double action I've used. Ontop of that, the slide safety is pretty stiff too. Besides those, I really love it.
When lowering hammer on live round, put flesh between firing pin and hammer. This works for all exposed hammer guns, regardless of type. Negligent discharge is actually just a blood blister if you screw up. Technique = Place offhand thumb, finger, etc over firing pin. Manipulate gun with strong hand. With some practice (muscle memory), you'll do this by instinct with any "drop the hammer" motion. Old hammer, single shot, shotguns. Lever guns, revolvers, etc.
Everywhere I've seen it's been announced that a .45 acp was coming too, but only in a steel frame. I e-mailed them the other day but I haven't heard anything back yet about a full size steel frame version.
I love my Full size Polymer Magnum Research Baby Eagle/IWI Jericho 941 .40S&W. Super Accurate! I do not like the manual safety on the slide myself but I can live with it. Plus side is that the Magnum Research manual safety also acts as a De-cocker. These pistols have a sweet SA trigger and great ergonomics. My Walther PPQ M2 Navy SD is still my Go-To sidearm but my Baby Eagle is a great backup. My wife can not decide which she likes better, our PPQ or the BE. Great review as always Tim!
Nice video. I have one but it does have the slide mounted safety. Mine also came with a BEAUTIFUL shade of blue G10 GRIPS, nice contrast. Oh yea it's ALL STEEL, Great shooter.😉👍😁
Jerichos are mostly issued to police forces rather than the military. The military has a mixture of glocks, sigs and others. Exported Jerichos have their safeties on the slide like berretas, while it is very rare to see this configuration in Israel. I always preferred the metal versions to the polymer ones.
I have one of the Magnum Research versions. Unexpectedly, I prefer it to the CZ polymer pistols. This is an Israeli version of a Tanfoglio pistol so keep that in mind when looking for accessories and parts. I'm eager to get one of these. Finding magazines can be difficult, but the best ones are the E-Lander (Mako) steel mags. Many Tanfoglio mags and parts will interchange, but CZ parts don't. Rumor has it that CZ-95 mags will work, but I can't confirm that.
I have the Baby Eagle in 40. The one thing I do not like about it is the safety is on the slide. Accidentally I have swept it to fire twice. I have always carried it decocked. I was hoping when I heard of IWI bringing back the Jericho that it would include a decocker with the frame mounted safety.
Military Arms Channel So are both IWI and Magnum Research releasing their own versions because Ive seen that the latter company has the Baby Desert Eagle III coming in 2015 as well.
Intellectual Slacker I heard they might keep both brands going. The Baby Eagle does offer the different safety which some prefer. I'm a Jericho kind of guy and I am really excited about their reintroduction.
The new Baby Eagle III from Magnum Research is an Israeli pistol as well, but it's made by another company, not IWI. I think that one is called the Cherokee outside the U.S., IIRC.
Very cool video, thanks. I shot an original Baby Eagle, the steel framed model was bit heavy for daily carry for me. Good shooter but I preferred my '92 at the time. Lots of similar options available at or under $500 though.
Waiting for steel frame. I have the steel frame bico fs for about 10 years and is the gun which soots bullets that even the MP5 can t? Try the countlet test please.
there is also a halfcock position that requires a longer trigger pull than single action and doesn't require you to fully drop the hammer, thus eliminating that danger
The Gun Bunker in Shrewsbury Pa has a Jericho polymer with a hammer drop slide mounted safety. Want to get that gu ASAP. Thanks for your initial review.
Nice, fresh take on a review video. I like the "straight out of the box and to the range" concept. Please don't forget to follow up with a "chapter 2" I think the Jericho is a great-looking pistol...
(Talking the steel frame version which is superior) There are alternative parts for this pistol but the info is hard to come by. It took me a lot of time to figure some of these out so I'll list a few. Meprolight makes two types of night sights, one pair like the ones that come stock and one pair with a shelf for single hand use. Hogue makes several pairs of grips from checkered wood to g10. CZ 75 mags do work, they might not lock open at first but after roughly 100 rounds they won't have problems. Dawson has a fiber optic front sight marked as desert eagle and maybe baby eagle (I don't remember) there's not much indication but the .120x.115 inch sight is the one for the current production Jericho. EAA carries Tanfoglio parts some of which are compatible, all I know for sure is the witness hammers work.
I hate slide mounted safeties as well. Taurus even knows they sucked and moved them to the frame after they took over the old factory from Beretta back in the day. :) Anyway, I bought one of these tonight so I hopped on your channel to see if you had reviewed it. They actually offer separate versions now, one with a slide mounted safety, and one with frame mounted. I got the full sized version, but I loved the thing.
Just bought one! Going to take a class with it also! I've been carrying a Glock 19, but I wanted to make a change. Drastic change maybe, but I can't wait!
I own one of the old IMI "Desert Eagle Pistol"s in 9mm and it has a frame mounted safety. Bought it back in the 90's(?)... Did I just get lucky? Also, the pistol still shoots flawlessly and I have been far from kind to it.
Hello sir. I know this is an older review, but I was curious if you ever got to go further in depth with this model of IWI? I've been trying to find one, but they don't seem to be readily available. I appreciate your time, have a good rest of the week.
I simply love the way it consistently extracts the empty cases always in the same direction - to the right and back if I've seen it correctly. Also, I wanted to ask how do you compare it to the Sphinx SDP? Would you consider it an everyday carry pistol?
This is interesting. I have a newer Jericho 941 psl9 just like this one only my safety is slide mounted. I had no idea there were so many variations of this platform
Thanks for the out-of-the-box shooting review. I like it a lot but I don't think I'd carry it condition one. I'd go condition two, safety on, and make use of the double action for that first shot. For what you get the price point is hard to beat. Looking forward to a full review torture test.
I'm so glad you finally covered the Jericho! I have a K.B.I. import that's marked "Jericho 941S", and it's been one of the best handguns I've ever owned! Would you happen to know if they are going to offer the non-railed models? And would you ever do a video on the import history of the Jericho? Thanks for being such a strong member of the 2A community!
As someone who likes a functional thumb safety and cocked-and-locked carry, I am very interested in this pistol and it could potentially become my carry piece. I'll definitely check it out if the reviews are good. I'm looking forward to the full review. The only downside in comparison to some other CZ 75 variants is that I presume it can't make use of the wonderful CZ 75 Kadet .22LR adapter, in my opinion a major advantage of CZ 75s. I wonder if the new Jericho is compatible with accessories for older 941s? There was a 941-compatible .22LR conversion kit (from EAA) and I'm curious if it would work with the compact, polymer frame new Jericho pistol as shown in this video. I don't know if it would work well, and I'm sure it's not the King of .22 Conversion Kits like the Kadet, but there's something to be said for having your .22 be (at least partially) the same as your 9mm, with the same trigger.
how would you compare it to a CZ P10C(recoil and muzzle flip)? and what CZ pistol would it be closest in comparison to? I'm liking this gun and giving it a little thought, and thinking polymer over steel, not sure yet. this size too, not full size. It seems as if youtube is picking videos for me that don't include the gauntlet, and I'm "jonesing" for a gauntlet test. they're not my favorite videos, but absolutely fun to watch. thanks for all that you do in your videos.
I have a older baby eagle aka Jericho all steel 45acp 10rd mags. The gun is amazing. The ergonomics in my opinion is great. Maybe even better then a 1911. The only downside was I couldn't find a decent holster for it and I hate the safety mounted on the slide. I wish it was a SAO or at least frame mounted safety.
Hey, Tim. What microphone are you using durning the indoor range footage? I ask because it handles the sound of the gunshots very nicely. No auto-dampening when firing multiple shots and it seems to capture most of the low-end frequencies that a lot of mics make sound tinny or washed out. Nice work, thanks for the review.
Just picked one up and noticed something. The PSL does not have a traditional hammer spring and strut. The Steel one does, just like the CZ-75 but if you look at the mag well there is a space where it should live. If you look the owners manual schematic you see it is different.. I wonder why they did this??? m
Cool gun and nice review. Very strange placement of the rear sight though. Is this deliberate because of the internals or are there some other reason as to why anyone wouldn't want as long sight radius as possible?
A couple of questions: This has a round-in-the-chamber indicator, correct? How exactly can you tell there's a round in the chamber short of pulling back the slide? Would conceal carry on the whole be a difficult day in day out thing with the compact steel you think? Thanks and great video!
I noticed unburned powder landing on your hands. I’ve had burning powder land on my hands with one certain handgun and it doesn’t feel good. Hence, I don’t shoot that gun anymore. I’ve always wondered if that is more the ammo/powder used or the gun?
Burn rate of the powder. If it's not fully burnt when the case is extracted that powder has to go somewhere. One of the reasons I always use gloves at the range.
Military Arms Channel Well keep mixing it up! Love your channel, and once I reach the age and financial means to buy, I'll be making a purchase from CopperCustom!
Another note is that the origin is the Witness PS. IWI has a long history with TAnfoglio and these guns look identical. As for fit an finish, I don't know and my Jericho is machined beautiful in side and out.. m
See you, space cowboy...
So, I picked one of these up last Friday, along with a Sig P226 Enhanced Elite. The first outing with the pair, the Jericho out shot the Sig, hands down. I have a shit ton of guns some in the thousands and the Jericho 941 steel frame is my favorite by far. Awesome awesome firearm
I've had a full-size,steel 40 S&W Jericho since 2007 when Charles Daly was importing. I regret nothing. Glad to see this solid pistol back on the market in its true form.

Cowboy Bebop anyone?
+Kurt Cotton-Kinch That is what brought me here haha.
I wonder if spike had the full sized one or the compact
+tinop56 full sized
that was my guess
+Kurt Cotton-Kinch I wonder how many viewers read this comment and just had no damn idea what you were talking about.
I like the "right out-of-the-box" shooting- Thanks!!
jconradh I don't believe in "break in periods" on fighting tools. That's why I do these vids, to see if a gun works right out of the box with crappy range ammo. If your life is hanging in the balance, you'll want to know your weapon works -- period. Thanks for the support.

Interesting, a polymer frame pistol with less recoil and better accuracy than a steel frame. Was the CZ-75 full size or compact? Also, what's the difference between the Jericho 941 PL that you have and the PSL in the video?
The CZ was full size steel frame. The PL and PSL are the same except the PL has a longer barrel.

One of the other main detractors from the slide mounted safety on the Jericho was it took up even more room on an already limited area to rack the slide.
PNS SHOGUN ...and it increased the likelihood you would inadvertently engage the safety when operating the slide.
Yes, that would be the main disadvantage by a country mile. Do you know of any plans for IW to release a de-cocker only version of the 941?
Run it through the gauntlet
Great review!
Two days ago, my Jericho 941F surplus handgun arrived in the mail! I'm very excited to try it out.
It's from back when they were known at IMI. It's surplus, as in it was used by the Israeli police.
your channel is the best. I enjoy all of your videos and I try to up vote whenever I remember to.
I am very excited to watch your final review on the IWI jericho 941 PSL9?
Kudos to you for doing great videos
Strike One pistols' barrels don't drop at all. They have a separate locking block that drops while the barrel moves straight back, like the Beretta 92, and similar pistols.
Great Review! 941 is my sidearm, works perfectly, very efficient and tuff. Perfect
I bought one at a in-door range shop for $299.99 plus tax AND as a BIG PLUS this shop gives the purchaser of any weapon a 30 DAY FREE RANGE TIME. 😯😁👍 It was hardly used as well. great video !! , for me you always give the best reviews, no BS , no bla bal bla like so many others ,keep up the good work , we waiting for the full review , thank you !
Excellent review, MAC. I could really get a sense of the gun's performance from the closeups of you shooting the gun. Thanks.
I know I am late to this discussion but, I just order a Baby Eagle in FS Steel Frame. I bought the Baby Eagle over the Jericho due to the de-cocker mounted on the Slide. Found one of these back in March. Steel frame, semi-compact, 10 +1 capacity, .45ACP. and has the Beretta style safety with de-cocker.
Just picked up a PSL 40S&W and love it. They have really come down is price. Paid $349 from CDNN Sports. Great review. Thanks!
You can see this man is an experienced shooter because he doesn’t blink while he shoots
Derp. Only 6 year old girls blink when they shoot.
I've had my steel frame 1941 for a couple years and I love it. Accurate as hell right out of the box and I like the fact it is a .40.

I'm glad IWI is releasing a Jericho that doesn't have the 'Baby Eagle' engraving though the lack of a safety decocker on IWI's Jericho is kinda scary to watch MAC do it manually.
I am not going to over think this. I just enjoy you clear concise videos. Hmmmmm Jerico 941 always an option if I see one down here,
harrisla123456 Thank you.
The sight radius could be a little better if they would just move that rear sight back further. On sale today at Palmetto State for $379.
that's a steal. just saw that deal myself. ...if i hadn't gotten my CZ-P07 for around the same price already, though
This 941 is my favorite 9mm go too hand held device.
I love Brazer Blass annumition.

Nice groups with that 941, Hoss. Very good recoil management as well. I just ordered one and it should be in soon. Thanks for the good review. - C.J.
My wishlist just keeps getting longer...
Enjoying the new flying text in the videos

Keep these excellent videos coming! God Bless
FYI, Cz and IWI make some of their pistol models with the safety replaced with decockers.
there is also a halfcock position that requires a longer trigger pull than single action and doesn't require you to fully drop the hammer, thus eliminating that danger
Can you please run this through the reliability test? I think it can compete with the Arex, another channel did a test and it past amazingly well.
Like the safety change but no de-cocker evens it out imo. Great video, thanks for out of the box testing. Cant wait to get my hands on one.
The Gun Bunker in Shrewsbury Pa has a Jericho polymer with a hammer drop slide mounted safety. Want to get that gu ASAP. Thanks for your initial review.
Nice, fresh take on a review video. I like the "straight out of the box and to the range" concept.
Please don't forget to follow up with a "chapter 2"
I think the Jericho is a great-looking pistol...
Any news on when the review for the jericho is coming?
Probably going to be my first 9mm....really digging it.
When will you do a full review on the Jericho?
Good info about the safety with regard to concealed carry! Thanks.
So I just got mine and i was wondering if they are completely compatible with any cz-75 magazines?
That looks like a really comfortable pistol to shoot
I have one of these, they are really nice to shoot, thanks for the vid
My "compact" baby eagle has a frame mounted safety, no decocker.
I purchased it around 2000 or 2001.
***** If I can get my hands on an original import I might be able to do a historical video. I think that would be interesting.
Dude you are a great shot! Guess I need a ton of range time😆👍🏻
Your first shots videos equate to some lesser channels' full reviews. Can't wait to see more.
how would you compare it to a CZ P10C(recoil and muzzle flip)? and what CZ pistol would it be closest in comparison to?
I wish it was a SAO or at least frame mounted safety.
.45 was released while the Jericho was being distributed by Charles Daly.
I had one. Wish I still did.
I want a full Jericho review please!!!!
I wonder why they did this???
m
I'm curious about the trigger reset? That's what I like most out the PPQ.
I definitely want to see more!
Do the steel frames come with frame mounted safeties also??
I noticed unburned powder landing on your hands. I’ve had burning powder land on my hands with one certain handgun and it doesn’t feel good. Hence, I don’t shoot that gun anymore. I’ve always wondered if that is more the ammo/powder used or the gun?
Burn rate of the powder. If it's not fully burnt when the case is extracted that powder has to go somewhere. One of the reasons I always use gloves at the range.
Good pistol, I've always liked the Jerichos. Nice video effects too, haven't seen some of those before.
Austen Brennan I'm trying to mix it up a bit... thanks for noticing and watching.
Military Arms Channel Well keep mixing it up! Love your channel, and once I reach the age and financial means to buy, I'll be making a purchase from CopperCustom!
These are nice looking guns. I wouldn't have a problem decocking that way.
MrBulletpoints I don't have a problem doing it either, I prefer this type of pistol.
Another note is that the origin is the Witness PS. IWI has a long history with TAnfoglio and these guns look identical. As for fit an finish, I don't know and my Jericho is machined beautiful in side and out..
m
plz do a full review and do a tar-21 reliability test
I'd love to see your full review on the Jericho
looked into one of these for a while...just can't get back the lack of a decocker.
How many dollars? Where to buy in Texas ?
I love the look of it!

Aha! Not so easy to plonounce Engrish when you a Kolean or Japanese is it???!!!
are you able to change the grips on the polymer version? or is that only a feature on the metal framed version?
