  • In this video we look at the Chrysler 200! It was short-lived, only lasting two generations before being cancelled. This was actually a very decent car, but had 6 major flaws and reasons that I felt caused this car to be cancelled. Watch along for a full history of this car from inception in 2011 to its cancellation in 2017!

      Yes my wife 200c the most up model had been a champ literally and it smokes BMW's challengers ricer sticks get spit on for the most part and two weeks ago a 2019 Toyota rav4 pulled out 15' infront of me on a 50mph road I had zero time had to hold my lane and smacked it at 50 it is totaled but damn it saved my life I had no idea that they had air bags in the pedal area at your feet that they are sitting on a Mercedes chassis and they are strong as fuck to take or give a hit only thing was I jacked my shoulder up bad cause I forgot to let go and relax but whatever I owe my life to that car and my wife and I just had our second babie girl not two weeks before that they get to see there father everyday because of the amazing build they did I don't give a shit what anyone says. And by the way I know in 2011 Mercedes bought dodge and I'm pretty sure they control all decisions Chrysler as well but maybe not at any rate look at there chassis that tells the entire story almost identical to a Mercedes one food for thought people. From someone still breathing because of theese so called falures😆 don't know SMH

I also find the Uconnect access very convenient on really hot and really cold days. I once rented a Chrysler 300 well, my other car was in the shop and it had air-conditioned seats. I just got the car a couple of days ago and I see that there is either heated seats are air conditioned seats. There’s just pictures of waves coming out of the seat. Are my seats just heated or are they air conditioned? I live in Florida, so hopefully they’re air-conditioned.

Had a oil/coolant leak which ended up having to have the oil cooler housing replaced due to deteriorating orings. And my flex pipe just snapped but overall very good car. I still own a 2013 after nine years. I have replaced brakes, throttle body assembly (and now the radio doesnt work), front driver wheel bearings, battery, and a radiator hose blew. After nine years I cant complain. The car has 170,000 km on it and I have used it for moving, driving off road through the farm, and all sorts of things. It is roomy, versatile, comfortable, and I like it.
    It has handled well on icy, snow covered roads that I probably should not have been out driving on. Compared to a jeep for winter driving it is not as good, but it is decent for a car.
    I would buy the FWD, 2016 C to replace it becuase I have the rims for snow tires, and compared to an Accord or a Camry it would be less expensive to purchase.
    Thanks for the video. I enjoyed the good information.

    I also had a 2015 200S AWD with every option available. The 2013 avenger actually feels almost as fast 0-60 as the 2015 awd. I could hit 5.5 seconds in sport mode with the paddle shifters timed just right or else it would bang on the redline without changing. The avenger rt once I put on good tires I could hit 5.6 0-60 easily. If it was from a roll the avenger would win hands down even though it was down 3 gears because of weight. The Pentastar is really good with a tune. I had to get the 2015 unlocked but with the hemifever tune, intake, throttle body, TB spacer, and flowmaster super 10 muffler I was making 300 whp. I went from 5.5-5.6 to just under 4.5 seconds 0-60. I Really wanted to supercharge the car but I didn't want to be the first one to try.

    I feel that youve made an acceptional and accurate assessment of the 200s demise. Its a shame, but i think the 9-speed transmission and class leading in the wrong areas things you mentioned in the video played the biggest role overall. Most people who purchase small/midsize cars i would think just want efficiency and convenient yet simple. I feel that the 200 was priced within reason of its competitors...

      Some do and some don't. You may have gotten lucky. I've seen a lot of them with transmission issues, AC compressors locked up, electrical issues. All expensive things to have to deal with. One thing I will give them though is the fit and finish was a lot better because at that time Fiat started dumping massive amounts of money into them, just not in the right places. Funny enough, it seems most Chrysler/Dodge vehicles have issues with the transmissions, AC systems, and electronics. The only time I saw their cars be reliable was when they were using a lot of Mercedes based components like the 5 speed automatic and entire platforms like the 300, Charger, and Crossfire.

    • @Natethegreat200c
      @Natethegreat200c 4 года назад

      Enrique Ortiz Honda shares the same exact transmission and Toyota also is having transmission issues. the trans that FCA is having problems with isn’t a FCA build or designed transmission at all. Mercedes starved them and made the interiors and cars shit. They’re better off with fiat. Now as far as AC issues and electronics that’s true. But I’d take a chance on a chrysler before a Toyota or Honda. The product just isn’t good.

    Yes the first gen had the 3.6 a d I had a 2013 avenger rt and it made 241 whp stock. That's 292-295 at the crank. Same as the base charger sxt. Dodge says that they are different outputs just to stop it from stepping out toes of the bigger car. The higher versions of the 300 and charger made about 15 whp more due to a true dual exhaust setup and a better flowing intake. Those made 252-257 whp. Good for 305-310 HP at the crank. So they were a little underrated.

      It would be cool. But for the magnum it boils down to Diamler didn't like it and despite execs saying no one would by it and begrudgingly greenlighting it so they could be proven right. It actually sold decently (~45,000 units a year) and at the end if it's three rear production run (08 and 09 where just leftover 07 chassis) it sold close to 200,000 units which is about what the entire Plymouth division did in its last year. The mangum was the victim of internal politics.

The shift points are set up great and often times the trans will brake for me almost allowing me to drive without using the brake in most situations. I really love this car. It looks amazing on the 19" stock black wheels, the interior is great and its fast AF. AND it was CHEAP. I own a 2015 that I bought new. I love the car, it’s got amazing features and it’s beautiful. However I do have to agree that the transmission is a huge issue. It’s already been replaced once, and it’s been back 2 times once, and the rough shifting still hasn’t been fixed. If they would have nailed that down better, this would have been an outstanding car for Chrysler. It’s sad that they didn’t take the time to improve it, and at least keep the nameplate around so people have something to know Chrysler for other than problems, and minivans.

    I owned a 2015 200C, bought it brand new in December 2014 and put about 75k miles on it in almost 4 years. While not perfect, I thought the 200 was a great car and well executed in many ways. I loved the way it looked, the interior was very nice, the V6 had great power yet got great fuel economy on the highway, and the AWD option made it an excellent year round car. The car had a MAJOR powertrain flaw though - the transmission. That 9 speed was a terrible transmission, I never liked it. I was never a huge fan of the rotary gear selector but I overlooked it eventually. I think the known transmission issues these cars had ultimately led to their failure, along with the names Camry and Accord being engraved into people's brains. It's a shame because it was an opportunity for a turning point for the Chrysler brand and the company as a whole, but they still have some major reliability issues to work out on some of their models. I have to say though, I lost my 200 when it was totalled in an accident last November. It did everything it was supposed to do to protect me.

      I bought the same year and make in Nov 2014 and am still driving it. Great pick up speed and no transmission issues when accelerating on the highway.
