    That drum would last about 5 seconds in an actual match. Please, anyone watching this video, don't make your drum spinner out of plywood and wood screws. My whole beetleweight bot probably weighs less than that drum and I can very confidently say if I were to take it on it would get destroyed in the first contact between us.

    • @minus9013
      @minus9013 2 года назад +4

      Why hasn't anyone said this? It's pretty clear battle bots are made to fight, not for show. Screws easily crack plywood just by screwing them, imagine if they were spinning hundreds of rpm.

    • @luk.23

      Bro everyone knows and no One would make One of this and FIGHT with it

      @@luk.23 Bro! If you took two seconds to read other responses to this video (including one response to my comment above) you'd realize how completely wrong you are. No experienced combat robot builder would take this into a fight, but, and this bit may shock you, the majority of RUclipsrs are NOT combat robot builders.

      Sir @DrachenJager1 as u might not understood i am pretty sure ur comment was an "Alert" to people to NOT bring a robot like that into a fight because of its malfunction and i think you took that a bit seriously like if someone would really took a robot like that one to a fight so i did my comment saying nobody would take a robot like that to a real fight and it was just a model of a Basic battle-bot and u came in doing an comment talking about (no offense) non-sence
      Talking about how the majority of youtubers didnt participate in battles
      And u just quite litteraly SAID WHAT I SAID but using it has an argument and im here thinking how your comment could make any sence one of its options to make sence was using sarcasm in the first comment you did, next u even brought up minus comment that was (like yours) asking how nobody did a comment like yours allerting to not bring one robot like that into a fight for its malfunction " i didnt quite understood what you meant if it was sarcasm what your where talking about or u just CTR+C and CTR+V my comment and used it aginst me as if i was the One saying people would actually bring a robot like the One from the video when im pretty sure ur comment was the one which i intended was an comment talking about how people should NOT bring a robot like that to a fight
      Pls chill and if u answer this comment pls say something that isnt saying quite litteraly wath i said intending that i was the One who made ur comment, thanks have a great day Mr DrachenJager1

    I've seen alot of battle bots in my day... Even the ones my students build out of Lego would destroy that one... Wooden bots are dangerous.
    1: they can catch on fire easily
    2: they will shatter and shoot splinters everywhere
    3: making the drum spinner(which works by imparting the rotational inertia at top speed) would shatter and send flying screws at you
    4: that thing is really slow... A wedge bot could easily get under that and it's game over
    5: you can't recharge the robot so after about 30 minutes of fun it's now a shelf keepsake
    6: why didn't you map the joysticks to the receiver? You have no control over the speed
    So many things wrong here...

    Hi, you didn't show how to make sure the motors turned in the correct directions.
    The motors on the left side will have to turn in the opposite direction to the motors on the right side to make sure you travel in the one direction.
    Also the two motors on the spinner.
    You have not shown any connection details for the receiver to the motor controller.
    Also you need a fuse on the battery to protect against short circuits if you really are going to Battlebot.

    • @VestedUTuber
      @VestedUTuber 5 лет назад

      Actually, a fuse is completely unnecessary unless you compete in the UK, and can be a major weak point since a good hit could break the fuse.

    • @VestedUTuber
      @VestedUTuber 3 года назад

      @Need2connect
      You only get battery fires if you use a low quality battery that can't take the current draw, or if the battery is punctured. The former issue can be solved by using a better battery (it's not even that expensive to do so, Turnigy Graphene Panthers are pretty cheap and will outperform many of the more expensive brands), and a fuse won't do anything for the latter.
      But what do I know? I'm just a 3-time beetleweight champion at Small Bots of Mass Destruction, winner of the first-ever Florida Polytechnic Fire Fights Beetleweight class and a regular semi-finalist in the 12lb tabletop class at DragonCon Robot Battles.
      At the events I've been to I've only ever seen one battery fire due to overdraw, on a cheap white-label 5c 300mAh 3S being run in a Viper kit with a horizontal spinner.
