Thanks for this review! I’ve thought long and hard about the swivel feature and what the point is, especially on a monoface. But then I think about dive watches and their timing bezels. Let’s be honest, 99% of us don’t use or need a dive watch bezel, but they’re still damn cool. And that’s the same with the swivel feature - it’s just damn cool
The brief of the original design still applies, it protects the crystal during any rough activity. The fact that it's too expensive to use like a tool (or polo) watch is what really renders it pointless. I'd love to find a cheap/abused one, would solve the problem of breaking crystals while I'm wrenching or working on the house.
I thought about the need for the swivelling function. If you want to get it engraved or enamelled, yes. Or if it has an exhibition case back. But even then turning the case over remains a rarely used feature, probably. The solution: get the Duoface 😃
Very nice review of this amazing watch. It is the perfect size for your wrist. Do you mind telling me the size of this watch and your wrist size? Many thanks.
I have a mono face Reverso Classic Large Small Seconds bought new in February 2020. I love it. I’ve had it engraved by JLC and bought an extra strap so that I can dress it up and down. BUT I have huge problems with the power reserve; having been fully wound it can stop in less than 12 hours. I have put it back to JLC twice now but the problem persists. It’s currently off to JLC for the third time in 6 months. To put this into context I’m fortunate to own a number of fine watches (including manual wind vintage pieces), and my Reverso is the only watch I’ve had a problem with. BEWARE because it’s a huge amount of money to spend on an unreliable timepiece.
One of the most iconic and classiest watch references of all time! 90+ years in production, that's a grande feat on it's own.
I do love the simple uninterrupted face (no seconds hand window). Nice video!
Thanks!
Great review and has helped push me even further towards this reference as my next purchase. Thanks
I have one, but with seconds. I have skinny wrists. I may be hungry, I may be cold but I still love my Reverso. One of my favourite things.
My Dream Dress watch. One day it will be mine.
I wish you will.
JLC reversos are amazing, I own two and never get tired of them: my favourite brand !
