    What made you decide to go with a super hp 2? I’ve been looking for videos showing a f150 5.0 with the dbx series muffler but no luck. Its similar to the hp 2 just slightly less sound i believe. Thoughts?

      I actually wanted the Flowmaster Delta 50 based on some RUclips videos but didn't find the right fit. While searching I found the Super HP2 and so I tried it. I wish you could go in a sound booth to pick these things but unfortunately its a bit of a gamble. Good luck!

      I also found this video looking for the DBX. Surprised Flowmaster or American truck haven't posted a video for it.

    Can you do a video of the interior? I love that you got the 6th seat! I got the same things and my truck should be coming in soon! I haven’t seen many videos of the interior of these

      If you look at other videos on my channel you’ll see an MPG comparison video, which has factory exhaust cabin sound, and then look at the cylinder deactivation video which has the new exhaust installed. Unless you are going down a hill and let off of the gas you can always hear the exhaust.
      It's mild overall and for my interest, it's exactly what I was looking for. I’d suggest using a set of headphones or a decent sound system when you listen. Hope that helps!

    Ever come up with a solution for the cylinder deactivation? Thx. I've somesay the corsa or borla cat backs are ok

      Yes, but I had to pay for it. I purchased a truck tune from Livernois Motor Sports in Michigan. When I input details related to what I wanted for my new tune, I indicated that I wanted the cylinder deactivation function turned off and they were able to do that for me. It was $850 with tax and shipping. Otherwise I figured out that if I run in sport or tow/haul modes it disables the feature automatically but I just didn't want to run the life of the truck in sport mode so I spent the money. I was also interested in taking the rev limiter setting and changing it and eliminating the max top speed setting and the tune was able to do that as well so I got some more value out of it. Thanks for watching!

    Does it drone in the cab?

    • @danimalshouse
      @danimalshouse  2 месяца назад

      You can tell there is an aftermarket muffler on the truck, yes. Also, at a specific RPM it drones a bit. It's not what I would consider to be too much or a disappointing situation. If you are going to buy an aftermarket exhaust and not like that it's loud in the cab it's kind of unrealistic to some degree. It sounds awesome on startups, idle, and during almost every situation except for a spot around 1,800RPM if I'm driving through town. It sounded terrible before I took the cylinder deactivation feature off of the truck as well. After a few years now, my wife even like it. Hope that helps.

    The tuner you mentioned doesn't list they can tune outthe cylinder deactivation. But has the tuner caused any problems? Easy to download? Thx you

      Good questions. I asked for the disabling of cylinder deactivation and the tune that I have loaded definitely does not ever deactivate the cylinders any more so it's working. Loading the tune was nerve racking at first because obviously nobody wants to screw up their new truck but its actually super easy. In the next few weeks I'm going to do a video on the process once I get some final details figured out. They send you a device and some cables and very specific instructions. Plus their tech support has been very good so I'm happy with it overall. Good luck!

    Any interior drone???

    • @danimalshouse
      @danimalshouse  2 года назад +1

      To some degree, yes, because it is a louder muffler than stock, but it's not bad at all. On acceleration it sounds normal in the cab and then when it gets the RPM's down around 1,800-1,900 there is a slight drone until it settles in around 1,500 at cruising speed. Some would call it a good drone actually. For perspective, my wife was pretty upset with me that I was going to cut off a brand new muffler and afterwards she said out loud that it's not too loud and it sounds nice. It's definitely louder than stock, but remember that is the point. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

      Also, if you watch the cylinder deactivation videos that I have up you can get a pretty good flavor of the cabin sound.

    did you keep the resonator ?

    • @danimalshouse
      @danimalshouse  Год назад +1

      I did not remove anything but the muffler and actually think that this truck never had a resonator. What I did on this install is cut out the factory muffler and add the HP2 from Flowmaster. The full install is here if you want to see it but I never took out anything but the muffler. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

    I got the same muffler but mine sounded very deeper

    • @danimalshouse
      @danimalshouse  2 года назад

      It's really low when it's at warm idle or when in gear and stopped but during acceleration it's not really super low. I suppose every engine is a bit different as well. Thanks for the comment!
