- In this video, I’m sharing how to trim split ends
using some really simple and easy methods I use to keep the ends of my hair healthy and in good condition.
My preferred method for trimming my hair is in twists, as it makes the process a lot quicker, easier, and straightforward to do, but you can also apply this same method without twists, so it’s totally up to you!
Feel free to check out my previous trimming video below, for more tips on what to look for when trimming.

Happy Sunday Guys 💕 I’m back with another video sharing the methods I use to trim split ends ✂️ Let me know in the comments what methods you use or whether you get it done professionally.
You didn’t do a length check this year and please can you use a measuring tape this time? Love your videos
Thank you! 🥰 Yes, I’m late with that one but will do it soon, including the before and after trim results.
Because of you making a straight to the point video. I can now confidently trim my daughters hair. Great job for people like me. Thank you.
Amazing, happy to hear my video was useful and you’re welcome! ☺️
This is exactly what I needed. Good information in a concise, straightforward video. Thank you!
Ahh…thank you…happy to hear you enjoyed it! 💗
Wow this is so easy to understand. Thank you for breaking it down. Your hair is so gorgeous
Thank you so much and I’m glad my video was easy to follow. 😊
I appreciate people like you who keep it beginner friendly . I like simple techniques like this ❤
Ahhh…you’re welcome! ☺️
I trimmed my hair instinctively two weeks ago with hairdresser shears because the ends felt rough. I'm glad I can see I did it your way! I was wondering if I had to blow dry my hair straight first
No, you don’t have to blow it out although it’s easier when you do, because the hair is more straight. But good to hear you do it in a similar way too 👌🏾
TYSSMM. I have a curly cut and I needed a way to trim my hair without evening it out. This was so helpful ❤
Ahhh…so happy to hear and you’re welcome ☺️
Love this, just did a heatless hair trim video On my channel on my short 4c hair. Your hair is so beautiful, hope to get mine to this point too one day
Thanks so much! You’ll definitely get there 🤗
So happy to be here first. Love you 💕😘
Aww! 😘❤️
That's exactly how do mine as well because i find it easy this way. I know they say better to blow out and even flat iron to be able to see clearly what to trim but i dont find it necessary as i barely wear my hair straight anyways. Nice to see you here sis
Hey girl ☺️👋🏾 Yeah blown out hair clearly gives a much better stretch and I was actually supposed to trim it a few weeks back when I blow dried my hair, but it never happened. But it can still be done this way too and the main thing is getting those damaged ends off. 💕
Loved the video, I use this same method but my hair is different lengths all over still😅
Thank you! Ahh 😄 Maybe blow it out and do it that way instead.
This is going to be my first time doing it myself at home. Thank you so much.
You’re very welcome and good luck ☺️
Good demonstration 👍🏾 Thankyou. 😊
Ahh...thanks so much ☺️
Great video on trimming. I need a trim 👍🏽
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 🤗

First one here . Thank you for the tips 💕
Ahh...you’re very welcome ❤️
The moment you said clothing I ran up to put my bonnet on 🤣 but hey it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Thats it! 😂😂
I do not have to go into a lot details. By telling you your video are always good and informative. Quess what they are. I braided my hair earlier. I was thinking how to cut my ends. I went on You tuber. There you were. Again great job. Take care.
Aww…thanks so much! I really appreciate hearing that and I’m glad my video was helpful 🤗
New subs all your video are amazing and getting great advices about hair and everything thanks sweetie 🌹🌹🌹
Aww…thank you! Glad you enjoy my content and thanks for subscribing 💕💕
@@HealthyAfroHair yes really enjoying it because I'm hair are very difficult to manage
I need to do better, mostly thought bonnet is just to help protect the hair from loosing moisture, so I sometimes sleep without my bonnet when I've no moisture in my hair, after my wash day, definitely getting a good trim and will start prioritising health over length. Please any other advice on how to reduce split ends and single strand knots, thank you
Thank you for the tips 💗📝👍🏾
No worries hun 🤗💕
Great video, Thanks for sharing!
Thanks and you’re welcome!
I went to a professional the first week after lockdown ended, I had a silk press, the hairdresser hardly trimmed anything off, (the opposite of scissors happy) when I came home I saw all the split ends, even tree splits, so I cut if 2 inches myself.
Wow...that’s a first! 😄 But at least you were able to do it yourself.
Never trust hairdresser with my hair husband who's a barber dyes my greys and he friend whos a hairdresser braids my hair phew
This was a helpful vid thank you!
I love all your videos
Ahh…so glad to hear it 🤗
Thank you
You’re welcome 💕
I have had enough with those scissor happy stylist I am trimming my own hair now.
Yes, go do that! 👌🏾
Thanks Queen!!!👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
You’re welcome 🥰
Thanks☺️💇🏾♀️
@@Mozy-e9c You’re welcome ☺️
I trim my hair at home. I blow it out with my revair and then I trim. I trim once every 3-4 months.
Yes, it’s probably a lot easier to do it on blown out hair and that was the plan when I blow dried last month, but didn’t get round to it.
That’s just the way I do my hair myself, The same way
Ahh...great 😁👌🏾
Me too
Thanks dear very helpful tips♥️♥️. 🙏How often do you trim your ends?
You’re welcome 🤗 I don’t really have a set schedule anymore, but will do it if looks unhealthy.
😊😊 okay dear 💛
I never trim my hair, probably why it's so damaged, it's really short now. 🤷🏽♀️😊....thx for the upload. 💛👍🏽🙂
Ahh...no worries 😊 But definitely start trimming your hair (when needed of course), as it really makes a big difference. 👌🏾
The most I'll do at home is the search and destroy method if I happen to see knotting or splitting a stand. I leave my trims to the professionals.
I would love to get my hair professionally trimmed some day, but that’s if I ever find a place I can 💯 trust 😏
how do you moisturize your hair, specifically your ends? I get really bad single strand knots and nothing works to moisturize my hair
Try adding a moisturiser, followed by an oil or butter to seal the ends. Also, check whether you’re due a trim.
Where do you tend to find the SSK’s?
Brasil, Jesus Cristo te Ama 😊
I don’t really get it… what exactly are split ends, and when and why would I need to do this…?
So they’re little broken/damaged hairs along the hair shaft, mostly towards the ends of the hair and they split like tree branches. You would have to trim them off to keep your hair ends healthy.
How would you trim split ends that have travelled up the hair strand?
That’s slightly more tricky once it goes further up. But you can always separate those strands and trim off where it splits.
Do your hair be even when trimming in twist?
I’m not sure because I don’t wear my hair straight so never really seen how it looks after. But the main thing for me is removing the damaged ends.
please respond! how many sections in total after sectioning the first 4 sections?
So I did 3 to 4 twists per section.
Any advice please my hair is dry yet I used both olive oil and coconut oil thank you for uploading dear
Are you washing weekly or twice a week. Your hair maybe dehydrated. You hair may not like a lot of oil, maybe try something else, aloe vera?
You’re welcome! Make sure you’re moisturising your hair with a moisturising cream and not oils, as they are not designed to hydrate the hair, but instead are used to hold/lock moisture into the hair.
@@adwoamk8918 like which one dear
I’ve got a list of some you can check out on my Amazon store amzn.to/3eKt8HO
So it doesn't matter how you part your hair to trim it? Because your hair is not parted in a specific way.
It depends on the individual. For me, I don’t have it perfectly parted because my main aim is to remove the damaged ends. But for someone who might blow out their hair and wear it straight, then they might prefer to part it in sections to achieve a more even cut.
@@HealthyAfroHair Thank you
@@crisssyyy_ You’re welcome!
Can you use regular paper scissors?
No, it’s better to use professional cutting shears designed for hair.
Hi, how do I identify split ends and dry tips, I get very comfused
Confused*
Hey! So if you look at the ends of your hair and notice that the hair strands split down the middle into 2 separate strands or looks kinda like a tree branch, then that’s a good indication of it. As for the dry ends, it will just feel more coarse, wiry or rough.
Sorry do you use hair brush at all?
I use brushes for slicking my hair up into styles, but not so much for combing.
1:30 shouldn’t all the strands be straight, the two parallel ones on the outside or diagonal
2:32 all straight like this
