- Arthur Bouflet from Expresive E came to our studios to demonstrate the new Touché SE - it's just like the original, only aimed at software (so no MIDI or CV connectors) and more affordable. It's still as impressive as ever.

Loving how you can play this in such a rhythmic fashion. This is a product that I have to own, even though I never knew I needed it. Completely brilliant.
Not saying I've heard every kind of controller going, but that flamenco(?) guitar was unreal.
@@josephfelice601 Que?
I think imitation is not their aim ;)
Have you seen this video, were he plays a voilin with it? Awesome the touché!
ruclips.net/video/oTxgHJMpKsw/видео.html
that was really impressive!!
I still wonder what vst he’s using for the guitar sound
8:20 cant get enough from this, need a 10 min track of a Sound like this. Its so amazing
Go listen to some classical bro, every dude and his mother has got a nocturne in Gm that sounds like this (just without the effects)
I have a Touche. I bought it before I could even use it ( got a 2nd hand Mac Mini specially) .Every time I hear Arthur play I almost forget and almost order it again !
I want one right now!!!
Arthur, thank you for this incredible demo. I just bought my SE after watching this video.
he's such a nice guy
Amazing tool! Buying the full version now to control my hardware synths!
He sounds like a super creepy dracula. I love him. Wish he was my room mate
I'm certainly not here to pick on this unsuspecting frenchman, but... he's a bit too much of a pencilneck to attain dracula status. ;-)
@@roccoharris I did say super creepy :)
How come this shows eight midi cc yet it is limited to only four available unless you buy the ov version?
These guys should make a complete midi keyboard around the Touché next. With CV out. I want that.
Have a look at MidiGlue. Check out the RUclips videos for it. It releases mid next year but it does the CV conversation your thinking of. It might even convert this device to CV.
Arturia Keylab MKII might go great with the Touche
You should check out the Osmose, I don't know if there's CV out but it's basically a Touché-Board
Just watched this video and went ahead and bought one seems like a beast for expression and its relatively affordable.
And your thoughts, a year on?
@@LFOVCF Its a reliable tool in my toy box its great for free styling ideas for tracks and its awesome if you want to inject an extra bit of something outside the normal into your music...I dont regret buying it.
@@shadowbanned5164 I somehow thought so
A really great, inspiring demonstration, thank you very much!
Show notes:
4:01 - Host hwapper
7:13 - Just like a guitar
7:19 - Awesome guitar-like sound
Can't really help laughing, but at the same time, nothing but respect for him: He comes in and does his thing, period. And he got some skills with the gear he's showcasing, as it should be.
Gotta say, seen in isolation, I wouldn't be so sure about removing the direct hardware functionality. But that's some serious price-cutting, so for software and studio work, it just got a whole lot more approachable and affordable.
I loved my Touché for VSTs, but it was a chore to configure for each patch on my hardware synths. It’s disappointing to see them strip away features for software only instead of improving the Touché’s hardware workflow. Great that it’s now more affordable if you work in the box though.
John Jameson Hey John. Can you elaborate a bit? Which features did they remove?
@@Tazmanian_Ninja its only to do with using with hardware synths, its brilliant if your using software instruments.
I don't play the keyboard. If I were to import midi or create midi notes in my DAW, could I manipulate those notes after with the Touché SE? Thanks
@@casade2831 Depends on the Software you're using. In FL Studio you can record automation to pre-written midi notes, but at that point it may be worth saving the money by buying a cheaper controller or handwriting the automation.
Incredible! Really innovative, like roli!
LOVEEE it. Wow thats some awesome piece of equipment
This Guy is so expressive, just like his toy :D
If you use it as a set with "Touché", you can express various expressions with any sound source, which is the best ❣️
Touché is great.
Arthur is great.
I will get one soon ( not an Arthur, a Touché SE )
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a foot pedal version too?
Humans need three arms
Four, I need to pick my nose, occasionally.
I have only one arm so that lets me off.
I want it!!!
Brillant. Just utterly brillant.
Hi. Whats that Guitar preset? Thanks
Sounds great. I don't know if I need another plug-in container though. I already have containers within containers within containers. The stability and complexity of the whole thing is getting questionable and unwieldy.
I am a little sad that only a few Expressive E plugins offer full MPE support. I'm not sure about buying a Touche, but if I were able to try all of these patches in MPE mode, I might end up buying a Touche in the end.
will this work,,, if i connect usb touche to keystep/// and keystep via midi to behr model d box,,,,,, so no computer
I don't play the keyboard. If I were to import midi or create midi notes in my DAW, could I manipulate those notes after with the Touché SE? Thanks, everyone
I wonder if the SE version would work with a 'usb to midi interface' like the affordable 'UMH-10 USB MIDI Host Box' to send its midi directly to your hardware? The question then is how you map the SE cc out, to the hardware. How does the original Touché do this?
Very cool.
can you route this through, say, Ableton Live and back out through a MIDI patchbay to hardware synths for hardware control over MIDI? Or is it specifically for only certain softsynths and not MIDI CC#? I realize the more expensive version is ideal for hardware, but I'm wondering if you can use a workaround for the SE to use with hardware.
answered my own question at 12:40
And whats about Tutorials? Or a sharing plattform.
Amazing! Does it work with iPad/iOS? Animoog and Model 15 would be great with this controller.
yep...he said it was usb class-compliant, so no drivers needed. That makes it very flexible and it ahould work with an ipad, although there’s no word on if it requires a powered hub or not. IMO the demos of this product always sound more impressive and natural vs stuff like the Roli or Linnstrument. 229 is a very attractive price.
I have the original Touche and mixed feelings - As Gaz Williams suggested I really want to try it with an A4 now it does wonders for my Novation Peak. However they don't seem to be doing anymore presets for hardware.. You can create your own fairly simply tho. I'm glad that this is more affordable for software user's (not for me I'm gutted) it does really change the way I play and warp synth sounds.
Elliot Davidson how does it connect to peak with a controller connected as well?
@@SteveMayzak midi from keyboard into touche midi out from touche into peak or a midi through box
I have the midi and CV version of touche
Ah duh, forgot about the midi in on the Touche. Thanks! Mine arrives today!
Can you run the touche into your midi keyboard controller and then control hardware synths from there? Or do you need to configure it for every synth it connects to even if it's daisy chained?
I wonder if this could so something with orchestra based kontakt sample libraries. Maybe it could be programmed with a key-switch on each axis to crossfade between different articulations?
Its sounds nice and stuff but the sounds do you get them with you if you buy iy or do you need to buy other vst's???
Could it possibly work with an Expert Sleepers FH-1 or FH-2? I don't see why not
Cocker that would be awesome, I’d imagine it would
Is it true that you can only get full function with Windows 10?
I can't get Lie to show in the VST list in Abelton.
What am I doing wrong?
L A did you get an answer. I was wondering if it worked as a VST. Wouldn’t be great if it was only stand alone.
Does this only work within the wrapper, or is it plug-and-play with any DAW? Do I have to assign stuff within the wrapper?
It's Fluff did you find an answer? I would like to know too.
That guy has an amazing accent.
French touch, I guess
@ and an English pun! 😂
brilliant!:)
fascinating accent. great bit of gear that. i want one now
I want one 😍
I gave this video a thumbs up, because I like the product and the presentation. Unfortunately I can not buy it (as well as the Touché), as Linux is not supported... This is why I love the products of Novation: they create webapps, so you can control their products on every platform.
Very cool. Does it only work with VST's running the the wrapper software? So it wouldn't work with Propellerhead Reason of for iOS Apps?
I'd love to know as well :) super keen on getting one of these puppies, but I'd like to know if it works ok for Reason-based workflows
I wonder if this will work with the upcoming MidiGlue. MidiGlue seems to convert USB to 5pin midi, and CV, but can do other things as well. It's a bridge basically.
Aftertouch!!! :D
cte classse sur sonic-state ! bravo !
Neat!
Can this be used with blocks system and vice versa
I don't see why not. Anything that sends midi notes. Doesn't have to be a keyboard. Could be an MPC type controller
Couldn’t you just route your midi through ableton and out to a hardware device?
shhh
Yeah sure, and it's cheaper to make ones that don't have cv and midi stuff on them or the wood top part.
did you watch the whole video?
Dope
I don't make music.. but I want to now
Can you use it with iPads?
Yes, you can.
Great product! The bald guy acting like he"s not impressed, he is.
8:17 Any recommendations for music that sounds like this? Kind of reminds me of Ok Cowboy-era Vitalic.
Maybe try Jean Michele Jarre - Oxygene

When I heard Athur start to play it , my ears popped up , I immediatly thought he was playing this track ruclips.net/video/OkQlrIQhUMQ/видео.html enjoy
@@ucheucheuche I only just rediscovered Jean Michele Jarre, I remember it being used in the Gallipolli sound track , 40 years ago . I also distinctly remember a teacher in school , she made us close our eyes and doodle on paper while listening to it. fantastic
Should have called it the Threeché...
Frkn French
Sick 👌
Only problem is you’ll probably need to practice a lot to get good results. How annoying! Isn’t there an app that can do that for me? ;)
Eww, practice, who wants to that? ;)
I don't want to learn how to be patient, I want to be patient now!
@@s90210h that is the most gloriously ironic joke ever!! :D You made laugh so hard lmao
cool ass ice*
I would rather a hardware specific version for us VST haters.
wtf haha
The software for this product is a joke. I was not even able to install
it on my Windows PC. The VST plugin not visible (not installed).
Focumentation is horrible. Somehow company assumes people are using OSx
not Windows. Sent 2 messages to support and after 3 days no response.
Perhaps it works on MacOS but so far no luck to run in on
windows/Live10. I think their installation program is screwed so if one
does not leave everything as default (for install) the whole thing hgets
messed up completely. It also messed up my licensing software I have
had installed for EW Suite. So far terrible experience. Of all that
support simplysucks :-(
He's not the best salesman for his product. I'm out!
Software is piece of garbage !
What’s wrong with this guys voice?
Nothing, what is wrong with your ears? He is a French, his surname gives a clue if not his accent.
Hes French and talking in a second language. More than talking hes trying to demonstrate and sell something in a second language...
The accent is gloriously actrocious to the point of distraction...
How's your French?
Yeah, WTF. The guy’s English is excellent for a non-native speaker. You should have stopped at ‘glorious’
