A lot of great ideas here, thanks Jeremy! One thing I found out through experience though, is the big difference between light stands and mic stands is how light stands sonically react to floor vibrations. They seem to transmit a LOT of it, and it makes sense: why spend engineering time on light stands to make them more "silent"? Doesn't make sense. Whereas mic stands will be expected not to transmit noise from the floor. I don't know how this translates to your studio environment, but it's a good idea to check it out before making a lot of purchases.
And again, thanks for your great content! 🙂

I didn’t know this about light stands. But I noticed the difference after the switch. And is that makes sense why the r44
Works on it…. The built in shock absorber.

I have some Triad Orbit stuff. It is by far the best, epecially for small studios with limited floor space. Although I will say that the rig he shows here probably costs upwards of $3,000, and I'm talking just the stand. No cameras or lights or mics. Just the stand.

Buy better quality mic stands. Really. I remember working retail in music stores, and people would buy all types of expensive mics, then ask for a $20 mic stand. WTF? That's just asking for trouble!
