Thank you for this tutorial! I've been wanting to expand my binding past the three hole pamphlet stitch. Think I will try this next. You made it seem very do-able!
This is a really simple way to bind a journal, especially a smaller one. I hope you watched at about the 24 minute mark where I said I had initially done mine too loose. I had to tighten them up! Good luck and have fun.
I'm so glad Connie, good luck in the attempt. I'm way overdue to show the results but am planning to start shooting some videos soon. I hope you'll come and see how mine turned out.
Hi Colleen, Thanks so much for commenting! The good news is the journal was never claimed and I plan to do another giveaway. There will be at least 2 journals in the giveaway. I'm thinking when I reach 1000 subscribers I'll have a big giveaway. I will do an announcement soon to hopefully get the subscriber count up there quicker so watch for it!
Thank you so much for showing how to use tabs to hold pages together. I am a new subscriber and enjoy the way you take the time do show us exactly how to do it. Look forward to watching more of your videos. Take care
Hi Nancy, Thank you so much for commenting on my video. I delayed responding because I was waiting to finish a give away video which I have just posted. Please check it out. I m giving away a Tab Bound journal and a Ring Bound Floral journal. Thanks again!📚📚
Shelli, so glad your video popped up! New subbie here! This is a wonderful tutorial! I've been a journal maker for a few years. Recently, I've had makers block. This no sew tab binding is one method not used yet. Your great tutorial will get me started again. What a great journal you made! Thanks so much! Tricia
Thank you Tricia, I really appreciate the comment. Because it's a very easy project I think it's a great one to help someone who's stuck. Thank you for subscribing. I've been planning to make more videos but I guess I'm blocked when it comes to that or maybe it's stage fright! I really need to get back to it though. Keep an eye out, I will be back!
Thank you so much. Sorry for the delay in responding. It's been awhile since I posted a video but I am planning on quite a few new videos including recording the making of some journals. Hope you check them out.
I am inspired by many and certainly by your work. I will definitely be making this book. Can hardly wait. I especially love the paper design! I hope you continue to give these kinds of tutorials for a long time to come. greetings from the Netherlands
Hi Christy, Thank you so much for your nice words. The papers come from many different places but I can tell you the 2 pieces I used for the front and back covers are freebies from The Graphics Fairy. They are in the Vintage Wallpaper section. The Graphics Fairy has thousands of freebies! Thanks again!
Thank you so much Connie. These are one of the easiest journals to put together and its fun! I love to try things I haven't done before so that also makes it more interesting. It's a bit addictive though, be warned! I made 4 after I first learned how. Thanks again, Shelli
This is such a great idea, I can't wait to do this with the spine...I've never seen it before. Your journals are beautiful. Thank you for sharing and for the opportunity 😊
I'm really loving this style. I have put together 3 so far, all the different ones I showed in the video and they all came out great. It's so fast and easy once the pages are prepared. Have fun with it!
I missed your fabulous giveaways. Regardless, found this video and subscribed (and thumbs up!) I have seen a few of these with tab binding, but like this one the best. They were so beautiful. So decided to use yours as my inspiration, Thanks!
I'm so glad you like the video. As far as the giveaway, neither of the journals were ever claimed so just be on the lookout for the next giveaway. P.S. Thanks for the thumbs up!
Your ideas and inspiration is amazing I am very excited about making one thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas and inspiration your work is amazing thank you Theola
Theola, Thanks so much for commenting, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I'm so glad you like the journal and I'm thrilled if my ideas inspire you. 😀
Hi Valentina, Thank you so much for subscribing I have just visited your channel and subscribed. I just watched the most recent 2 videos but I love the little lace books and I also have the Artymaze Bee kit and am in the middle of making a bee journal (several in fact). Thank you for commenting it means a lot to me.
Thank you so much. Sorry for the delay in responding. It's been awhile since I posted a video but I am planning on quite a few new videos including recording the making of some journals. Hope you check them out.
These tab journals are so fun to make and very easy. I've really enjoyed it. Planning to make another one soon (I made 3 in this style) I think the new one will be a different style though. Trying to figure it out. I'm sure I'll post a video when I do. Thanks for subscribing.
I really like making this style and they are easy. I never did show a flip through but I made 3 different styles with this method and should post a video showing them soon.
Hi Janice, The original give away was almost a year ago. The journal was never claimed so I gave it away for the 1000 subscriber give away. I'm thinking about making another one to give away. Maybe I'll do a 1500 subscriber give away. This style is very easy and fun to make, you should give it a try.
Thank you so much Nora. I delayed responding because I was waiting to finish a give away video which I have just posted. Please check it out. I m giving away a Tab Bound journal and a Ring Bound Floral journal. I really appreciate you commenting on my video, Thanks again!📚📚
Love this. I'm in the process of making tab journals so really enjoyed watching your process. Great tip on putting the tabs on in a way to allow for bulk on the pages. Just discovered your channel--new subbie. Greetings from Canada.
Hi Abby, Thanks for subscribing. I keep meaning to make a video of the finished journals. I ended up making 3 from the different papers in the video. I really like making this style of journal, they are fast and easy and can still be decorated alot. I waffled on the part about the tabs, I will have to clear that up in the flip through video. I think you can use longer tabs to allow for growth but the journal may feel wobbly until it is filled. 📚📚
I subscribed to your channel within 2 minutes. Why? Because your voice. It's not irritating. And also you got to the point. I love being part of peoples world when they make journals. But I really want to get to the gyst of the journal. I don't need to hear about someone's dying relative or their naughty kitty. Lol ok i know I sound cruel or rude but I'm here to learn how to make a journal. You do just that. So now I must shut up too. Onward my dear. Let's do it.
You crack me up! But I know exactly what you mean, I can only tolerate a minute or two before I'm tapping my fingers saying ok let's get on with it! I realized a while back I never did a flip through of the finished journal so I may do that soon if you want to see it. Thanks for commenting, I really appreciate it.
Thank you for commenting! Did you try it? How did it turn out? I made 3 and have been planning to do a flip through for months now, can't seem to find the time. Hopefully soon.
Thank you so much. I've just posted a new give away video so you may be able to win a Tab Bound Journal or a big fat Ring Bound Journal! Please check it out and good luck!
Hi Judy, I've been trying to figure out where the papers came from because it was multiple sources. I know the first and last page, the pink damask, all of the lined pages and a single page towards the middle (a darker damask type design) all come from Artymaze's Foxglove Bliss kit www.etsy.com/listing/765846867/foxglove-bliss-full-size-journal-kit? I added a link not sure if it will work but she is very popular just type in artymaze on etsy and you should find her. There are others also, one page from Tina at shabbydabbydoodah and the pink doily pages are from Carloines Craft tree. I never did figure out where the cover pages came from, probably something I saved a long time ago. Hope this is helpful. I really appreciate your comments on my videos.
I'm so glad you like it and I really appreciate it that you subscribed. I haven't made a video in awhile but I should have some coming soon. Thank you so much.
HI, I did not do a tutorial or craft with me of the give-away journal but there is a page by page flip through of the journal. It's the video right after this one titled 'Journal Giveaway- 500 Subscriber Giveaway'. It's been awhile since I posted a video but I am planning on quite a few new videos including recording the making of some journals. Hope you check them out.
It is nice to see someone who leaves some writing space and doesn‘t decorate the Journal to death, your style is exactly my taste 😉. I too wish I had seen this earlier so I could enter the giveaway but I am glad to have found your channel. I was just wondering: the first one you made had tabs on the pages. Were the tabs punched separately and added afterwards or do you have a trick for making the tabs part of the page? Thanks in advance for your feedback! Greetings from Europe, Donna
Donna, I'm so sorry I didn't respond sooner! Oh my goodness, I don't remember seeing this comment. The good news is the journal was never claimed so I will be doing a big giveaway when I reach 1000 subscribers. 2 journals at least in the giveaway, so watch for it. As far as the tabs, I made them with a whale tail tab punch cutting off the lower half after it was folded and then adding them to the page. I was telling someone else how you can make one very similar just using a 1" square piece of paper, fold it in half and then round the corners. Thanks so much for commenting, I really appreciate it.
Thanks Jill, I'm really loving this style also. I've finished the 3 different ones I showed in the video and will do a flip through soon. Thanks for commenting.
I am a new subscriber, I love this style journal. I am new to making journals and this one looks fun and easy. Can I ask how did you make the 6 tabs on the end of your papers. I like that look. I love all things vintage.
Hi Patricia, Thanks so much for subscribing. I made the tabs using a whale tail tab punch. After I punched out the tabs and folded them in half I cut off the lower half. You can make something very similar by just using a 1" square of paper, fold it in half and then round the corners. You can adjust from there but when I made one using the square piece of paper it turned out almost the exact same size. I hope that helps.
@@bookshopshelli Thank you so much. I loved your no sew binding journal with the tabs using the Vintage Days kit. I would love to see you do a tutorial on how you put it together, I am a visual person so I love to see tutorials. I hope you do more videos and I do appreciate your help and your answer back. Have a great rest of the week.
Thank you for the tutorial. I watched and learned. i wished I watched it before the contest ended. Can these tab books be done (are they strong enough) for a larger size, say standard 8 1/2 x 11?
Hi Nancy, Thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it. I do believe you can make a larger journal. I had planned to try it myself but so far I've made 3 of the smaller size. I found this video last night, check it out. She made an actual book, regular size. It looks pretty cool.
To be honest I hadn't even considered that but I think since it is a smaller journal I will let everyone enter. Someday I would like to have overseas customers so I guess this will be good practice. Thank you so much for commenting, I really appreciate it. Where overseas are you? Please let me know. Thanks again.
Thank you so much. I really enjoy making this style of journal. I have 3 finished, I want to show them in a video but things keep coming up. Soon I hope, please watch for it.
Good luck and have fun! It's been awhile since I posted a video but I am planning on quite a few new videos including recording the making of some journals. Hope you check them out.
Thanks Lorna, I really appreciate the comment. I've been a fan of yours for a long time. An FYI for you, I watched your most recent video about the new Winter's Magic kit and the link to Etsy is not working. It took me to etsy but said 'Sorry, this item is unavailable.' (It does not take me to your shop) You might want to fix that. Thanks again for visiting my channel and commenting.
Honestly, I am so jealous of you creative artists. Love everything you create.
I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm a beginner and absolutely in love with journaling! I'm trying to make a Bible study journal for my grandfather 🥰
I appreciate the way you carefully go over each step in your process.
Hi Rochelle, Sorry about the delay in responding. I appreciate the comment. Thank you so much.

Hi Marie, That bag of goodies and the journal were never claimed in the give-away so I will be posting a new give-away video soon and the journal and bag of goodies along with another journal will be the prizes. Watch for the new video.

Thanks Judy, I do also. It's very easy and so far all my journals done with the tab binding have come out great. Thanks for commenting.
Thank you for sharing this. Want to try today! ❤️
Thank you for commenting! Did you try it? How did it turn out? I made 3 and have been planning to do a flip through for months now, can't seem to find the time. Hopefully soon.
Thanks for the good video. Much appreciated.
Thank you Candice, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks so much for commenting, I really appreciate it.
Great work!
Thank you so much. I've just posted a new give away video so you may be able to win a Tab Bound Journal or a big fat Ring Bound Journal! Please check it out and good luck!
I am new. Loving your video so much. 😃
Thank you so much. I'm planning to start recoding new videos soon. Hope you check them out.
Your choice of paper is very nice. Can you tell me where to get it?
Hi Judy, I've been trying to figure out where the papers came from because it was multiple sources. I know the first and last page, the pink damask, all of the lined pages and a single page towards the middle (a darker damask type design) all come from Artymaze's Foxglove Bliss kit
www.etsy.com/listing/765846867/foxglove-bliss-full-size-journal-kit?
I added a link not sure if it will work but she is very popular just type in artymaze on etsy and you should find her. There are others also, one page from Tina at shabbydabbydoodah and the pink doily pages are from Carloines Craft tree. I never did figure out where the cover pages came from, probably something I saved a long time ago. Hope this is helpful. I really appreciate your comments on my videos.
Very inspirational video!! New subscriber here.
I'm so glad you like it and I really appreciate it that you subscribed. I haven't made a video in awhile but I should have some coming soon. Thank you so much.

Love your videos
Thank you so much. I should be putting out some new videos soon.
What a beautiful journal did you also do a video on that giveaway journal
HI, I did not do a tutorial or craft with me of the give-away journal but there is a page by page flip through of the journal. It's the video right after this one titled 'Journal Giveaway- 500 Subscriber Giveaway'. It's been awhile since I posted a video but I am planning on quite a few new videos including recording the making of some journals. Hope you check them out.
Pretty work! New subscriber!
Thank you so much Theresa, I really appreciate it!
I love this!!❤
Thank you so much. Sorry for the delay in responding. New videos are coming!
Love this!
Have a great rest of the week.
génial merci pour vos tutorials
De rien. Désolé pour la réponse tardive.
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Margaret, I appreciate you commenting.
Beautiful
Thank you for the tutorial. I watched and learned. i wished I watched it before the contest ended. Can these tab books be done (are they strong enough) for a larger size, say standard 8 1/2 x 11?
Hi Nancy, Thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it. I do believe you can make a larger journal. I had planned to try it myself but so far I've made 3 of the smaller size. I found this video last night, check it out. She made an actual book, regular size. It looks pretty cool.
I would love this little journal!!!! But I'm overseas. May I still enter?
To be honest I hadn't even considered that but I think since it is a smaller journal I will let everyone enter. Someday I would like to have overseas customers so I guess this will be good practice. Thank you so much for commenting, I really appreciate it. Where overseas are you? Please let me know. Thanks again.

@@BonesAndButtons Very cool!
Actual tutorial starts at about 12:50
Thank you love it !
Thank you so much. I really enjoy making this style of journal. I have 3 finished, I want to show them in a video but things keep coming up. Soon I hope, please watch for it.
Im also new to junk journaling.
Good luck and have fun! It's been awhile since I posted a video but I am planning on quite a few new videos including recording the making of some journals. Hope you check them out.
This is awesome XXX
Thanks Lorna, I really appreciate the comment. I've been a fan of yours for a long time. An FYI for you, I watched your most recent video about the new Winter's Magic kit and the link to Etsy is not working. It took me to etsy but said 'Sorry, this item is unavailable.' (It does not take me to your shop) You might want to fix that. Thanks again for visiting my channel and commenting.
@@bookshopshelli ok . Thank you for telling me
All fixed. 💖
I just realized this video was made a year ago so looks like I really missed out on the give aways ahhhh😢
