I'm only 2 minutes into this and just have to say!!!! Your voice…omg your voice is sooooooooo nice! I can't mention names but I can't watch certain videos because of accents and sing song-y voices. Your voice is so refreshing!!!!! Thank you!
I’ve Seen the tab binding before, but it always seems so complicated, you do an excellent job of walking us through it. It was also very helpful that you pointed out how tight the tape should be and showed the buckling that could potentially result. I’ll put this on my list of journals I want to try! P.S.cute plate! ☺️
Hooray for the lefties of the world! I wondered if you were a leftie when you started from the back of the book. I always read magazines back to front - seems easier somehow. Great tutorial - thank you :)
This really is first class - I have watched over 20 or 30 similar videos - none come close - brilliant communicator and lovely encouraging tone! Thank you very much - your hinges blew me away after what I was watching elsewhere!. LOL.
This just popped up on my list. I haven't seen anyone use a book cover and I love it. I hate trying to make the front and back cover thick enough to handle it. I look forward to watching more videos.
love this idea. looks so easy and WoW!! this is the first time I have seen binding this way. You make it look so easy. Instead of getting rid of my old jeans I and going to cut them up for a binder cover. Very cool idea. thank you for this awesome video.
Good evening Sharon wow, love this! I’ve never seen anything like this before! Thank you so very much for the tut ! I may have to give this one a go. Hope all is well with you and your family. Thank you also for the freebie, it’s lovely. ❤️🌹
Thanks, Brenda! I hope you do give it a try, I'd love to see what you come up with. The family is well, thank you - and I hope yours is as well. Take care!
Thank you Sharon for this very easy to follow tutorial. I’ve watched a few other tab binding tutorials that left me confused. I’ll be trying this today. Happy Sunday x💙
What a great video on tab binding...I got some cheap fabric tape from the Hardware store and the fabric tape used for wounds, then I can colour the tape in any pattern I so choose :)
thank you so much for such an awesome video I can understand.... I am just starting to attempt JJ and I found this type of binding works great for me but seemed a bit complex....you made it easy with your detailed info, oh thank you for the freebie 😊
What a great video! Got a little confused in the beginning, but as you continued adding pages it all clicked. I’ve made hinged journals before, but not with “Washi.” Thank you for the freebie. Recently bought a pack of sticker label sheets. Can’t wait to get started. Appreciate your time and attention to detail. You are a fabulous teacher. 💜😎🇺🇸
Love it! I'd just watched another tab binding video but your explanation and demonstration was much easier to follow and made more sense. I'm thinking a very lightweight fabric such as muslin, or even thinner, might be my choice for the tabs. Thanks for a well done video -- and a very cool journal!
Such a beautiful idea 👏👏👏😍 I will absolutely try to make one…I have printed all strips and use them like washi tape and I have a new project I can do with them 👏👍 Thanks for sharing an merry Christmas 🎄 from Denmark 🇩🇰 Tina 👩🏻🎨☃️
Cool process! 😎 not sure how I missed this video 🤔 TFS -I’ve tried this o a smaller scale -but encouraged to try to corral those extra pages together into Hard cover book 🤗
I'm glad you liked the video, Filomena! I'm not sure what you mean by showing you how I do the tape - do you mean how I printed it, or how I created it digitally?
This is great! I wonder if I could use transparent address labels instead of a full sheet? Print the design on the address label sheet and then it would be a little easier to remove the backing
That's pretty cool. Never seen this done before. You could even do clear tape too, so you wouldn't see it as much. But I think those tapes look neat too. It makes a nice vintage art journal!🙂 I was wondering, would it be possible to add a little glue to the back of the spine where the denim holds the pages together, or would that cause it to not lay flat, when open?🤔
Hi! I wondered the same thing, and I do think it may cause the book to not lay as flat. But, if you clamped the pages together somehow and were careful with the glue, it might just hold it together like a glued notepad!
This is so cool. Loving your work. Silly me. I am not familiar with the label paper, it seems to be clear so your washi tape print out really does look like tape. Is this a common type of printer paper/label paper. What is it called? thanks!
I have individual pages that I’ve been hoping to put together in a journal…this method is exactly what I’ve been looking for. One question, though. What are your thoughts on using this method with significantly different thicknesses of pages. I’ve got some individual sheets and others that are are multiple layers thick and fairly stiff. Do you think the thinner papers (notebook paper and scrapbook paper weights) would tear?
Hi Tracey! I think if you made sure your tabs were a little looser they would probably be ok. You might want to think of a way to reinforce the edges of those thinner paper though (maybe add some washi tape or fabric to them?).
This is really nifty! I do not understand how you printed the washi tape. It looks clear, as you can see page patterns through it, so you didn’t use like address labels nor large package white labels, correct? Is there an Avery product number, please? And does it work with inkjet, or only laser printers? Thank you so much!
Hi Robin! So glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, I printed on clear lables. You can find them here: amzn.to/3T40rsZ - I believe they are 8665. Thanks so much for watching!
How or would you be able to do this as is but also use full sheets as well..? Hopefully im explaining right😊! Like use half and whole pages with this method?🤔
I'm not sure I totally understand you - but if I was using a full sheet - I would cut it in half, and then put the 2 halves together, just like I was folding the full sheet, so that when the tape went on those pages, they would be side by side and once again look like a whole sheet. I hope that helps!
I'm only 2 minutes into this and just have to say!!!! Your voice…omg your voice is sooooooooo nice! I can't mention names but I can't watch certain videos because of accents and sing song-y voices. Your voice is so refreshing!!!!! Thank you!
Thank you so much for the compliment, Jan! You are too kind. 😊

LOVE that plate!! 😊 Given to me by a very good friend! 😉
Hooray for the lefties of the world! I wondered if you were a leftie when you started from the back of the book. I always read magazines back to front - seems easier somehow. Great tutorial - thank you :)

I'm glad you liked the video, Filomena! I'm not sure what you mean by showing you how I do the tape - do you mean how I printed it, or how I created it digitally?
@@MadPaperCrush I didn't understood you made It digitally. Thank you however for answering 🤗

I think you could absolutely do this! Use what you have!

Hi Cassie! It's a common label paper. It's a "full page" clear label. The kind I use is here: amzn.to/3ujwKrF
I have individual pages that I’ve been hoping to put together in a journal…this method is exactly what I’ve been looking for. One question, though. Hi, I think I couldn't get it was soo fast, maybe the next time you can explain slowly, Thanks 😅
What kind of label paper did you use?
Hi Kay! It was Avery brand. 😃
Hello you made some vintage washi a nd where did you get the design at couldn't find the link on it
Here's the link for the marbled washi I used: madpapercrush.com/marbledwashi
When I’m cutting a narrow strip into strips I hold it in place with a sticky (Post-It) note.
great idea! Thanks!
How or would you be able to do this as is but also use full sheets as well..? Hopefully im explaining right😊! Like use half and whole pages with this method?🤔

Yes that is what I'm wondering! So if I have a whole sheet that would normally fold to make a 'booklet type just cut in half! Great! Tysm!
How do you make the washi sheets?
If you use the freebie from the video, just print them on clear full page labels!
