I've run into the same problem with punched out holes in tags, and what i usually do (because i don't have any distress inks sadly) is i take a marker/felt tip pen and rub the sides of the tip on the edge of the paper inside the hole. The sides usually give less ink than the very tip, so you don't soak your paper through and get a subtler look. And you can get pretty much any colour you want if you have a pen like this. Just thought someone might find it useful.
The little journal is all those things your viewers have said: precious, sweet, cute, grungy, etc!! It's interesting that even though it's a smaller journal, there are a lot of places to write! The clear butterfly wings are awesome and the cute ways you used them really stand out. I also absolutely LOVE the tiny little clips, so perfect, since everything is so compact. Thanks as always for sharing your art. I am absolutely going to try to make one of these tab journals. :)
This is my absolute favourite kind of journal. This is beautiful, I truly love it. You are clever and a great artist. What I love is all the tucks and fold-outs, plus the grungy style. Thank you very much for your tutorial and for sharing it with us. Take care, xx❤❤😊
I am in love with this booklet sweetie! The papers from Tina are once again very pretty. Thank you for showing this method again, I haven't tried it myself yet, but I must give it a go. Big hug 💞
Hi Barbara! I Love your projects for the digital collage Club! I really do! This is amazing!!! I always follow your tutorials and i learn a lot! It was a good deal to me the digital collage Club! I Love it! ❤ thanks for sharing! Have a very Nice day! ❤
What a cute little book. Not too big to be overwhelming to do and not too much writing space to stare at. Thanks for showing how everything is made. I haven't ever made a tab binding but I love to incorporate fabric so that's perfect.
I love this cool journal binding technique!!! I also LOVE the pages inside. It is a beautiful journal. And is very unique! GREAT Job!!! TFS. Hugs from Austin TX USA
I love your style Barbara! Mine is very abstract. Sharing your videos allow me to experience a different style, which I love and appreciate. Thanks so much.
What an absolutely gorgeous Junk Journal...I loved all the different pages with all of the exquisite ways of decorating them...I now have lots of ideas for anything I make...thank you for sharing it with us..🦩🥀🐞
So much wonder and beauty for such a tiny little bit of a thing! And it appears totally useable, as well. I watched you do it, but I still don’t know how you did that! 😲 Thank you for sharing!
Hi Barbara, I adore the mini journal, it's so cute. The bubble technique is also amazing, it can be fun crafting activity for kids, I will try that with my nieces, they will enjoy it for sure. 😊 😊 😊 Thank you for the tutorial, have a nice weekend!!! b🦋
I love the tab binding, it's on my list of journals I really want to do... But of course my list is quite long... Ha ha... I'm thinking maybe a Halloween themed one... 🤔🦇🦉👻... Love this sweetie great tutorial 💖💖
Wow, love all the yummy goodness inside this amazing little tabbed journal. Love this technique for binding. I also loved your bubble technique, will definitely have to try that! Thanks for sharing your awesome talent with us!
This is so grungy and cute! I’m gathering up supplies for a big coffee dying project and I’m going to try your bubble technique this time. I love how yours look. ❤ Thank you for sharing your mini journal.
Barbara: 5 thumbs up. I wish I was going to be home for the next couple of weeks because this is so fun. You actually gave me an idea, too. I have some card in my stash that I do not like. Why not bubble it!!! Why did I not think of that before. I can use whatever colors, oxides and let the ugly background only peek as much as I want! Yay! You are a magician, too!!
Thank you so much for demonstrating these techniques again Barbara. I'm planning to make a journal using the tab binding method and your instructions are very clear and concise. I tried your bubble technique last time but making it grungy this time is a great twist.
I love the butterflies on overhead sheets. Will definitely have to try this. Great instructions on this binding technique and gorgeous outcome in this little journal. You always inspire!
This little book is so cute. Love it. I am always fearful that the glue will not work. You use glue sparingly and it seems to work just fine. I usually create a mess of glue because I use too much.
Wunderschön liebe Barbara, wunderschön. Mein neues Journal ( in progress) wird auch diese tolle Bindung bekommen. Aber dieses Mal gestalte ich erst die Seiten 😉
I love scrolling through your videos. I always find a project you have done to give me inspiration to get going. Absolutely love this project. Gorgeous
I love my DCC membership! So worth the money! It's like a travel hairdryer🙊 wonder if a hairdryer is gentle enough 🤔 hmm. Lol I've dyed with gravy browning when I had no instant coffee🙊. Am I right that it's like the Jacob's ladder pattern? My brain thinks it is but that's no guarantee lol. I like that it opens out flat. She's awesome! So cute 😍. Saving to try the tab method at some point. Gorgeous😍. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
Barbara, this turned out so cool. Love the grunge. I’ve done a small journal with paper tabs. I really like the clothe tabs. TFS and all the inspiration! ❤
This is a totally awesome project! I am going to have to try this tab-binding method because I really like for my papers to lie flat when I am working on them. TFS
I have yet to try tab binding but your tutorial is excellent and I can't wait!! Thank you so much for the inspiration and showing your finished journal as it is lovely!

I have just made my first ever Tab Binding Junk Journal - and I don't know how to thank you enough Barbara. I loved this video when it first aired, but I didn't think I could get my head around 'what went where'. However, tonight, I sat down and followed step by step, and... Yay! It worked! Which is totally down to having a fabulous tutor who teaches and inspires. 🧡💚🤎
