    you are extremely underrated my friend, thank you very much for providing valuable information and both free and very reasonably priced tools

    This is awesome, thanks so much for making these, and making the pricing so accessible. Do you have any tips for adding halation, but keeping the contrast in the blacks for example? Is this something we can tweak inside of your filter's powergrade?

    • @DavinciResolveTipsTricks
      @DavinciResolveTipsTricks  Месяц назад

      Yes you can go into the compound nodes and change things to taste.
      With regard to Halation specifically, the halation effect should ONLY affect the very highlights and nothing else, so you shouldn’t lose any contrast whatsoever.

    I just discovered your channel and this is the third video I'm watching. And already I have seen some comments criticizing you. It it always amazes me how people can criticize others that put out stuff for free. Especially when it's that high quality! Thanks a lot! Please keep up the good work and don't let these idiots get to you ❤

      Thanks so much for your comment.
      I’m quite an insecure person but actually bad comments don’t affect me when I receive other comments such as yours.
      Appreciate the good vibes mate!
      Cheers

      @@DavinciResolveTipsTricks please don´t be insecure! This is a general problem of this world: Intelligent people, who share and provide on a high level (for free!) are quiet and dumb people scream loud. All the best to you!

    Just purchased but not sure how to install in Resolve?

    • @DavinciResolveTipsTricks

      Thanks so much for your purchase!
      These are power grades, so you just need to drag and drop in your Gallery inside the Color Page on your left hand side. You can create a stills album that will only be visible in the project you are working or you can create a PowerGrade Album and it will be visible in every single project you create. If you still struggle please let me know and I"ll help you further. Thanks!

    I haven't watched the full video, so if what I'm asking is in there, just let me know. A little busy now.
    You are using DWG/intermediate workflow with CST to Rec709 at the end. What if I'm in the default YRGB workflow using Phantom LUTs to convert to Rec709/final look, do the diffusion effects work the same way or do I have to do something different? Thanks.
    Just saw on your website, it says to be used in DWG pipeline. I'll have to check if I can use the Phantom LUTs in DWG space.

      Hi, thanks for your comment.
      Yes, if you watch it in full at the end of the video I demonstrate how the filters would look even if you were to use them after the REC.709 transformation.
      Yes, it is correct that I work on a DWG space and tailored these filters to behave as I wanted to within this color space but if you just use a CST at the end of your node tree to convert to 709, that means that if you grade before this node you would be grading in you scene referred space being most probably some flavour of logarithmic space which is in many cases is as wide as DWG, so although the behaviour of these filters won’t be exactly the same as in DWG there will be pretty pretty similar. The main difference being the intensity of them which you can tweak yourself and I offer 4 intensities per filter so I reckon it would be just fine.
      DM me on my Ko-fi shop and I’ll send you one intensity of one filter you’d like to try for free so you know 100% it works fine for you before you purchase.
      I won’t be in the color suite for another couple of hours but when I get there I’ll be able to share it with you.
      Cheers!

    Always increase the brightness of your laptop

    • @DavinciResolveTipsTricks
      @DavinciResolveTipsTricks  10 месяцев назад +1

      Don’t think I understand your comment or sarcasm. But no, you should calibrate any monitor you use, if you have a fairly modern laptop the 100nits for SDR grades probably peaks at about less than half the brightness.

    • @TANTOLOHUNAYANDA
      @TANTOLOHUNAYANDA 10 месяцев назад

      @@DavinciResolveTipsTricks no, I mean your laptop screen brightness, it’s not to bright like that

    • @DavinciResolveTipsTricks
      @DavinciResolveTipsTricks  10 месяцев назад

      I don't do these tutorials on a laptop, and I actually have that screen setup at 120nits which is MY sweet point, just 20nit more than the recommendation for grading SDR, so in fact it's a tad brighter than what the standard says to set it up to.
      So again, don't increase the brightness of your laptop full blast as you are suggesting, about half the way is what you should train your eyes to see for grading on a laptop, or even better get an affordable calibrator device that will tell you exactly what 100nits are in your chosen display.
