Must say, your Tanks and fish variety look stunning.
Thank you bro! 😊
You are the man! In every store I asked they told me to drain the tank totally from water and move the fish! Because there is no other way. You show us the way , respect!!!
Some backgrounds need to be siliconed to the glass. In that case they are right. you would need to remove the fish, drain the tank, dry the tank...like I had to do for my first 3d background - ruclips.net/video/6oTolrohmXE/видео.html
But this slim model background does not require that. Which is exactly why I got this type of model. didn't want to go through all of that again lol
Now that looks awesome! I love it and good job showing us how you installed it. Wishing you and your family a happy and blessed 4th of July weekend!
Thanks Melinda! Glad you enjoyed the video. Happy 4th to yours as well 😊
Kev that's the first 3d background I've ever seen. It looks incredible. I hope they make them for smaller tanks as well. I would like one for 55
They absolutely do! 😊💪
Kev, that is an awesome 3D background. Fits like a glove and has definitely enhanced your tank.Top purchase and well worth waiting for buddy.👌
Thank you bro! I agree 😊
Wow! That looks fantastic! Looks like Aquadecor has a great product! Love the lil extras they threw in for The Kaveman too! Just love the new look Kev!
Thank you my bro, glad to hear you like it! Aquadecor is 2 for 2 with me so far 😁
We just got the same background from them for our 210 gallon a month or so ago and love it! 😂 Great minds lol. Just wanted to say thanks for all the great info, your channel definitely gave us the extra confidence to start our own Malawi tank.
That is awesome! Yes great minds!! 🤣🤣
Looks amazing so glad I got up to watch this. This hobby is definitely the most satisfying of them all!! Glad to grow with the best! Tank looks sickkk!! Aquarium maintenance releases so much bad energy.
Couldn't agree more! Glad you made it bro!!

Thank you for the install tutorial it looks amazing. 👍👍
No problem 👍 Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
You obviously love what you do and love your fish, I have learned a lot already and I just started with the Cichlids, I have taken the responsibility for someone who was moving and could not care for them the way they deserved. I now have about 15-20 African Ciclids, male and female, reproducing regularly, mind you I picked this tank up on the fourth of July and drove them and all his equipment about an hour home. I brought buckets of their water so they would aclimate to my house easier.. the way those fish act with you is amazing, and you can definitely tell you care. I'll keep watching your videos because this is my 5th tank, but first Cichlid one, and I wasn't sure if I was ready for it but I'm gonna care for them the best I can.
Sounds like the fish are in good hands! This channel will definitely help and I also have a course on Cichlids that will get you up to speed with everything they need. Try the free webinar first - event.webinarjam.com/channel/KaveMan-Aquatics

Very cool, gonna go check out their backgrounds now. Had a tank defect so had to return and exchange my 125 gallon, which was painted, so this is perfect timing because I don’t want to go through painting all over again.

Your dish are beautiful
Thank you! 😁
As always love the videos and the background is lovely bud. My only question is with the intakes behind the background, are the filters going to be effective picking up all the waste
Absolutely, I can actually see waste being sucked behind the background so thats the best place for the intakes 😊
Wow your fish are very beautiful
Thank you very much

Great work bro. …… 👍
Thank you so much 😀
Great install Kevin. Do you have any concern of adequate water filtration with putting the intake behind the aqua scape? Looks great
Thanks bro, not at all. My outputs have just as much flow as before and I can see waste and other detritus getting sucked back behind it, right where I would want it to go! 😊
Waiting ⏳
Cmment in the Live Chat if you're here with us 😊
As always great video kev. I'm very new to this hobby and I'm curious if having the intake filter behind the background won't suck up as much debris then if it is in front of the background.
Sweet
😊💪
No matter what Gordo is always visible!!
LOL, ALWAYS!!!! Hey J, never got that email from you with your address???
Kev, how did you secure the “floating rock”? It looks amazing, btw!!
Thanks! Since it floats it pushes up on the tank brace. So the brace and the glass on top holds it in place 😊
Hows does waste get to the filter suctions?
Thank you1 it's beautiful stuff, but unfortumately very expensive, some 550 euro's for me. Perhaps I'm going back to the days where I made backgrounds myself. I them can also incorporate wood and stones.
Nice
Thanks
@KaveMan Aquatics - is the FX6 still going to work effectively if the intake is behind the background? How does it collect detritus?
Absolutely, The detritus is getting sucked behind the background, So having the intakes back there is the best place. 😊
Very nice….
Thank you
Heyy Kev, I would love it if you could do an updated version of all the fish in your 210, cuz I spotted some news guys 😅. Anywho, love all your videos and keep doing the great job!!
Yea there were some new additions since the last stocking list videos...I'll keep that video in mind 😊
@@KaveManAquatics thnk u so much ☺️☺️☺️
I just wish I knew how to get my 55 gal tank set up with a similar background I don't know the price, measurements, and which style to get
Hey Kev love your vids and advise tel me what's the price on the pump u always use when u do water change.....
I think it was about 70 bucks. Check it out in my shop. Navigate to shop-equipment-water change pumps here kavemanaquatics.com
A very nice aquarium. Where did you buy these stones that are in the pool on the floor, how much is the price of such a stone
let's say a big thank you for the info.
First, thank you for all the great content! Does having the intake behind the background negatively affect the filter? Does it still pick up the same amount of debris and all?
My tank is detritus free with both intakes behind the background 😊
Awesome look, however, I prefer the natural layered rocks you had . Great content in your videos you know your stuff especially about the different layers media in your FX . Great job mi hermano. I never subscribed to anyone, but I give it to U . 👍🏼
#Aquarist4life
Cool, thanks Glad I was able to earn your subscribe! 😁
Hi,
You had two intakes installed behind the 3D background, does that cause issue with water quality, etc for overall tank? The fish waste, how fish waste get filtered?
I want to get one for my 75. Would you recommend just getting the slim so I can add my outs without cutting it up ?
By putting the intake behind the background are you not blocking it from being able to take in particles ?
I can see particles actually getting sucked back behind the background, which is a double positive! 1 they're not in the front causing water to look dirty, and 2 its going right where the intakes are 😊😊
That's a nice tank sir!....can anyone tell me if cichlids have to be kept in RO water only ohhh talking about the rams or apistogramma?
No they dont need RO water.
Wow that's why I asked because the fish store told me I had to.....go figure thanks K Man!
Yo Kev.
You need to do an Update video on your Aquadecore background. 🏔
Pros/cons and your thoughts on it, Would be pretty awsome…
Good job with you videos and Channel by the Way. Keep up the good work.
Greetings from Denmark. 🤙🏼
Thanks bro, definitely planning to do one but its still too soon lol Gonna give it a few months to make sure everything stays copesetic!
Hey kev! just wondering, why do u only place 1 wavemaker in the 210? Don't u usually place another one at the other side bottom for the full circulation?
The wave maker in my 210 is a monster. I actually turn down the power and it still pulls the substrate towards it from the other side of the tank. So 1 is more than enough. Check it out here - kavemanaquatics.com/products/wave-maker-3400-gph/
My 3d background will be here next week for my 125 gallon. Did u shut the valves off on the fx6s for install cause I'm gonna have to remove my intakes & outtakes too.
Yes sir, shut them off and unplugged. When you remove hoses trapped water will come out so have buckets or towels ready.
@@KaveManAquatics i have my background in. Its a thin rocky background from universal. I have two fx6s & two wavemakers. I need help with the flow. Where do I point my fx6s output nozzles? I have the inputs at each end of tank in corners. Placement of wavemakers as well cause whatever im doing im getting alot of poop buildup in one corner. Any advice , thanks!!!
When it comes to ph levels for certain fish and you add fish that have a different ph level should I keep it in the middle and can you make a video on it
Dont mess with your PH. Changing it and trying to manipulate it will cause more damage to your fish. Establish your tank at the PH you want it to be at, then add fish that thrive in that PH. Mixing fish from different PH's could end badly.
Hey Kev it look great. Which G model # is this?
I forget now but im sure its in the video description 😊
What pump do you use for water changes? Getting a 75 gallon aquarium
I use a Vivosun pump. You can find the exact one I use in my shop - koji.to/kaveman_aquatics
Hey Kev! I have a 75-gallon with 33 cichlids in it and running an FX6. I have a 307 filter as well but not being used rn. Do you recommend using it when I do get a 3D background? Just worried about FX6 not catching all the debris that's trying to go behind. I do have wavemakers as well. Btw you've helped my Cichlids thrive with your videos, keep it up brotha!
What brand or where did you purchase your 210 stand and semper fi
OHH RAA! Its an Aqueon and I purchased locally at petswarehouse.com But they only ship to the store
Kev, tank looks sick first of all. Second, I have a Universal Rocks Texas Wall 3D background in my tank, and there is substantial space behind it. I have a water circulator behind it so that water doesn’t stay stagnant. I was thinking of throwing a ton of pot scrubbies back there to act as added bio media. What do you think? Waste of time or good idea?
I just added a wave maker behind mine for the same reason 👍 usually you want a good flow to go through the pot scrubbers to grow some good bacteria...but now that you mention it, behind the background does have some good flow, NOW....So that might not be a bad idea...Nice! 👍
Curious how you keep the algae off of the new background?
My Pleco is a workhorse! lol Check this video out - ruclips.net/video/7cIaO2v9bJ4/видео.html
With the intake behind the background, does it still filter properly?
Absolutely! Have never moved the intakes since. 😁
Bombs
💪💪
Kev love your channels from the UK 👍🙂 Lol it must bug you though that the fish are able to get behind the background .. I know us mad hobbyists like it perfect and can't stop thinking about it unless it's done perfectly... lol I think you gotta do it from scratch .. mission or not... it's going to keep bugging you!
Not at all…reason is because none of my big Africans can get back there. Only ones that can squeeze through are the clown loaches and their job as a cleaning guy crew is to disturb settled poop in the substrate so it can eventually find a filter intake. Well since all the poop is getting sucked behind the background it’s a great thing that the clown loaches can get in and out when they want to…doing the dirty work back there 😁
Question: How will the poop get to the intake if it is behind the background?
It’s getting sucked behind the background, so that’s the best place for the intakes 😊
had one of those backgrounds for 2 years and it looked great but it was a pain. no matter how well you seal it up to the sides with foam or whatever, fish will always find a way to get back there and get stuck. just ended up getting rid of it. hope you have better luck than me with it haha. btw wheres the frontosas lol?
My Africans are all 6" plus...None of them are getting back there. The clown loaches are like rats thogh, they can squeeze into any crack, the tiniest crack! But that just means they'll be able to freely go in and out of the back when they want to, Im ok with that 😊
Hey Kev that Background looks amazing 👊🏽💥👍🏽
I can't imagine how much that cost, lol
Thanks bro, yea it wasnt cheap...including shipping it was around 600
Will the intakes still work just as good now that you put them behind the background?
Absolutely. Output flow is just as strong and I can actually see poop being sucked back behind the background which is perfect because thats where the intakes are.
I watched the installation of this. It looks awesome! Now I’m looking at one for my 75 gallon and I’m wondering if you’re still loving it? I’m a bit skeptical about how the filtration is going to work with the intakes being behind the wall. Is your tank still crystal clear? Also, with the heater behind the wall does the entire tank stay at the correct temperature?
Yes and yes and yes! Lol My tank remains crystal clear, you can see it in my latest video. The heater is behind the background but the important part is that it’s next to the intake. So heated water goes through the filter and comes back out the outputs which are in front of the backgrounds. I get very minimal detritus build up as my wave maker helps to move the waste and it gets pulled behind the background where both intakes are. 👍
Thank you so much! That helped me to decide. I have to get a quote from them but I think I’m going for it. 😁 I have one wavemaker. It really does help keep the substrate clean. 😏
Glad I could help! 😊 Make sure your internal tank measurements are accurate. They will provide instructions of what they need.
Hey kev! Lovely background! Thinking of upgrading my tank soon, wanted to ask is it really true that having a larger tank would allow the fish to grow faster? Or is this just a myth 😅
More space does allow for more growth. I dont think it will speed up growth, but it will allow for them to grow as big as they can 😊
@@KaveManAquatics appreciate the reply 🙏
It amazes me how resilient these fish seem to be I have a tank with tiger barbs a couple albino corydoras and a couple shrimp, but the tiger barbs are aggressive little fish and if one gets picked on he stresses out and then they get white spot, has happened twice to me, only lost one so far.
Yea AC's are very hardy fish! 😊
what filter do you use on that tank?????
2 FX6’s 😁
The only question, are the fx6es doing their work effectively as they are in the back of the 3d background?
Absolutely. The background is designed to leave some space for equipment to go behind it. And as tight and perfect the fit was on my tank I can still see waste and debris getting sucked behind it. Which works perfect since the intake are back there 😊
Nice information, sorry for off the subject..the drift wood not settling down, its coming up on the surface plz suggest the tricks to settle it down…TIA
You have to soak it for a day or 2 before putting it into your tank.
