I lost all my mbunas but one while moving. I put the last female in with my peacocks and now I have a tank of hybrids. I have the bottom half and back covered in rock so they can hide and have the entire front of the tank for free swimming/jousting
John, the yellow lab tank is beautiful and I'm sure they are happy in there. Your new cichlids are spectacular, too. Who could blame you for buying those guys? Their tank is great. Lisa is such a caring and lovely person! She's such an animal lover, and very creative too. You two are fortunate to have come together in this life. Your move was incredibly difficult.. i can't even imagine all the work it took, but I thought about it. Just the 29 and 40 gallon tanks are heavy. But you had a stellar plan with that huge tank and the PVC pipe rollers you created. Brilliant! Take good care!
Love the rocks such interesting colors when wet and looks so great with your Cichlids swimming by those beautiful rocks. Ingenious how you moved that monster tank good thinking loved all your help. Nice to have such a great family. God bless you all for much success in 2023.
I absolutely love your videos! About a year and a half ago I wanted to get into fish keeping and found myself searching RUclips for tips, I came across your channel and fell in love! I started with a 20 gallon and became obsessed . Currently have 6 tanks total 2 being 75 gallons. I love all the tips, tricks and ideas you guys put out. Thank you for all the help! You guys are the best!
I can totally relate last year. I moved from California which has been my home my entire life and drove b 10 hours north to Portland, Oregon to start my whole new life and move all my stuff. so cheers to you. You pulled it off. Congrats.
These tanks look great 👌 l just redid my 125 g Cichlid tank. I had my red slate and rocks along with mopain wood pieces. I used to have a lot of tanks and used it all. My kid for Xmas bought me a giant 25 lb rock from Tropic Waters in Eua Clair, WI. So I took out all the slate and just left the Mopain There are enough places for my 6 yellow labs to swim and plenty of room for my peacocks and other haps. The big rock. Is now the Center Piece of the tank. I will add some of the red slate back in slowly.
Both the African tanks look absolutely amazing John. You and the boss 😆 definitely did a great job on scaping those tanks. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my 75 gallon electric blue Acura tank. I want to change it around I'm just on a stand still. I'm thinking maybe some driftwood and some plants. ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT VIDEO
All of your tanks are an inspiration for me but this is like I have never seen before . It looks incredibel but only you guys know how do it so please keep go on with it because it is really good
I keep those furniture moving disk under my tank stands, I put pledge furniture polish first, so I can move all even my 220 gal with the substrate and a couple inches of water and leave the fish in, works great!
You're 2 for 2 John, looks fantastic, even with a little help from the big gun. Ellen and I have the same guess as to the new project. I won't spill the beans though, can't wait to see it.
My fish love the Lava Rock wall at the back of the tank where they can swim around and hide in, but also have open space from the center to the front of the tank to swim around.
The best part about growing up in the 80's was that those short shorts stayed there. I want to know who is responsible for bringing them back! Thanks for another, awesome video.
Hey john, what up brother. I love the new look. There's only so many things you can do with peacocks and haps, and this, in my opinion, is one of the best lots of rocks and now sticks perfect. Also, I'm very glad you changed what you do. No more weekly question and answer format. aahh how many fish can i get in my 55 gallon eeerrr.. I'm just kidding. This is way more productive and enjoyable, so I'm glad you changed things up. Well, see ya, bro.
The tanks look awesome. The yellow lab one is my favourite as their colours pop against those rocks perfectly. I’m always too scared to use sticks just incase the fish snag themselves on them, I’ve heard horrible tales about damage scales eyes etc, so it puts me off trying them, but I would love to use them in a tank myself. Maybe once I’ve been in the hobby longer I will get the confidence to try. I’ve only kept fish for 2 years but the more knowledge I gain the more confidence I become. I look forward to see your next project 🐠🐡
Well I had a yellow lab tank that was 140 G, heavily planted. 15 different kinds, and it worked. It depend on how much and what you feed them. African cichlids can grow with aquascaping plants if you have an autofeeder, easily. I had 60 in there and the plant was filled 70% with plants. Hav a video on it. Just sandsubstrate. The rock scape with the yelow labs will make sure you have 10 times more in a year. Awesome!
I like it, I was thinking to pile rocks up on both sides and leave the middle open, but your designee works great. Now if you could get just a little bit bigger tank.
Love your videos, can you please put a small bench or table somewhere where is not to much, but your cat can get on it & enjoy looking at your cichlids, I don't know maybe I'm wrong but looks like he wants to see what you're doing, I thought it be a good idea, Brother thank you for all your cool videos & helpful information, take care
I've been there john I'd do tje same thing I'd step back n just look at it sometimes I'd let it sit with the hardscape for a couple days no water n most the time after being calm n collected it would just click n come together
Looks amazing. Worried about my placement of the tank and weight. How do you do cleaning with all the rocks? Can you show a maintenance and the challenges to do it?
So happy for you! I am going to need some big rounded rocks like this for my second tank which is being set up as a panda garra river tank. Luckily I maybe only need 3 or 4 big ones but still dreading looking after seeing the trouble you had in finding those rocks!
New subscriber here. Love the channel brother. That Malawi barracuda looks beautiful. The side by side Africa cichlid setup looks awsome. The scape you put together looks so clean and thought out perfectly. Great job on that. Can't wait to what you have next!
I just got a 60 gallon fish tank that I transferred everything over from a 55 gallon fish tank and I got a new stand for it when I put the stand in place I did not realize it. I had two rugs underneath it and I filled everything I put all the decorations in and now I can’t get the rugs out from under it without draining the fish tank and put it all back together, I’m really annoyed because the rugs are very dirty and have sand on them and they’re very crooked. Some people may think it doesn’t sound like a lot, but the stand I got for it is actually a entertainment center for TV that weighs 150 pounds, and then my tank has a lot of rocks in it so it’s pretty heavy. when you’re putting up new fish tank definitely make sure it’s in the place you want it and there’s nothing underneath it lol
Thanks KG Tropicals, Im looking at my Mbuna tank now and Im thinking "Man, I need more rocks". Haha thanks for the video now I need to find my local rock yard
Looks great! Would love to do something similar with a 55 gallon and dwarf cichlids, all I need to do is find the space for it. Will be looking critically at our apartment while I wait for my tax refund.
I agree with the peta wrecking stuff sometimes. The animals were well cared for and not suffering. I thought that was the only mission for peta. That should be their only mission.
Man I really miss my OB’s,peacocks and haps, every time I watch this,I had many of the same fish you do and they were beautiful. Just to expensive to replace 10 of them, had my shot and blew it😊
I'm from va I live in chesapeake and I grew up going to animal jungle until it was shut down and yes I have also been to the other store aswell anyway great job with the tanks makes me want to set up my old 220 again for haps again
I have a 90 gallon african tank with rock and annibus with no problem. they don't eat it. i also have water sprite in there. it grows so quick that it keeps up with them nibbling

You'll have to get Lisa to do a really funky Chinese Goldfish tank. Heaps of Black, red and Gold for Chinese New Year. Thanks John 👍💚🎋
Will do...
I lost all my mbunas but one while moving. I put the last female in with my peacocks and now I have a tank of hybrids. I have the bottom half and back covered in rock so they can hide and have the entire front of the tank for free swimming/jousting
@@michealshelton2133 how did you lose you fish?
Oh bless your hearts. I got anxious just thinking of moving with my six 75 gal tanks.
Beautiful! The fish show up better in the new set up - thanks John and Lisa 💕👍

This tank and the yellow lab tank are so much more interesting now. I love watching the fish swim in and around the rocks. Great job.

Love this tank almost as much as I love Navy boys in short blue shorts 💙
I just love this new setup, the fish look so happy. Now I'm waiting for the Goldfish tank. Enjoy your new home and hopefully a big jump on business.
So glad you set scaping goals for your tanks. The fish look and behave so much better for it. Congrats!
Freaking AWESOME!!!! I'm soooo jelly!!!! great job!! can't wait to see the big surprise...
I remember when Jungle Aquatics was Animal Jungle. Always very well kept. Your tank refreshers look great!
I love it! This is like the coolest scape ever! And I think I know what that secret project is.

Awesome looking peacock & hap tank John. Nice hearing from you ☺️
Wow, what a show stopper of a tank! The work looked really hard, but it clearly paid off! New subscriber here!
Beautiful tanks and fish.
Definitely have been wanting to spice up my 125 cichlid tank, so this is giving me so many great ideas! Both tanks look amazing!

Looks good!
Nice work on upgrading the scape, looks great. And also nice score on the new additions 😎

Absolutely gorgeous John. I love both of your African cichlid tanks, but I've got to go with the Hap tank as my favorite!!
Your cats add a lovely addition to the videos!!! Love them❤

Wow!!! What a transformation!! It looks amazing!!👊❤️💕
That looks class!!!!!! I’m getting my first decent size tank 418L I can’t wait!
It looks very natural 😜🐠
I was stationed in Va. Bch. in the 80's and 90's. I remember Animal Jungle and Pet Paradise. Both were excellent pet shops. Scape looks great BTW.
That was an awesome build!!! Great job!!!
Brother! That tank looks amazing! Great work to you all! Will definitely visit your shop in July! Maybe I can do a video?
Never known someone to be so happy by just adding one more rock. 😂😂😂. Looks great can't wait for the next project.
👍😎 Nice. I agree, not as nice as the yellow lab tank, but still very nice
Both tanks looks awesome!! Very nice aquascapes!!

Awesome series, this is giving me ideas for my tanks.
My favorite part of the scape is the branches 😉
There's that Cuda! Love the tank. My only concern would be eyes getting poked by the branches. Fingers crossed that it doesn't happen. Nice.
Really nice tank, you guys did a great job
Awesome tank John! Love it
wow john the tank looks awesome hopefully my tank will look as good as yours when i upgrade it
Amazing sir !
Wow John tank looks great and I can’t believe it but my Lfs just got some Malawi barracudas and now seeing yours I’m definitely going to grab one

Animal Jungle was the BEST!! I miss it!! I was just at Jungle Aquatics yesterday.
Looks great. The small sticks will poke the eyes.
That turned out very nice 😊
Another great video thanks for sharing 💯
love the hap tank and love the Malawi baracuda
That dude from the beginning footage in the flannel hoodie could have helped move that tank, had you asked? 🤣🤣🤣
Wasn't it fun watching his glorious hair blowing in the wind! That's a beautiful man!!
@KGTropicals 😆 Beautiful is a stretch by any standard. Fortunately, beauty has nothing to do with the ability to lift heavy things 🤣🤣🤣
Great video my friend, love the story telling 💪

Looks Amazing 👏

I miss Animal Jungle !! Edger was the best !!
Like the new tank
I remember Animal Jungle in Va Beach. I used to shop there all the time and remember when it closed. Didn't know it was b/c of PeTA. That's sad.
