Who woulda thought that a hobby could turn into a job like this 😅 super excited to have the chance to work with species like discus and saltwater since I cant afford those tanks on my own. Watching content creators in fishkeeping has bolstered my passion for fish, i cant thank yall enough for sharing what you do with the world 😊

    • @PaulZyCZ
      @PaulZyCZ 3 месяца назад

      I switched to glass-safe scourer, on coarse side there's a mat of thin wires which don't scratch the glass. Kitchen sponges or similar stuff for bathrooms and pools are also fine, but not that good for harder spots. First I clean the glass with a magnetic scrape, then it's scourer and old debit card for spots near/in sand. Of course, razor is razor, but the chance of scratches is higher, too.

    2:02 - For those who don't want to use razor, buy a special aquarium scourer in the LFS. On coarse side there's a mat of soft wires, but they don't scratch the glass. In my case it's Dennerle Cleanator scourer and Float and SGG Diamant (Optiwhite) glass. Razor is still better, but I had some bad experience with it in the past.

    Hello @MDFishTanks you are not going to believe what I found an extremely rare pure purple male betta at Petco earlier today I am not lying i have it in my aquarium right now, when at the Petco as soon I saw his colour at first i couldn't make it out because the lighting there sucks until I pull out my cellphones flashlight as soon i noticed it's beautiful purple colour I picked it up carefully and bought it immediately now he’s happy living in a 30 gallon fully aqua-scape aquarium that resembles their natural habitat, at Petco where i live they have a black orchid betta, koi betta, and so many more. I really enjoy watching your videos keep up the great work @MDFishTanks

Maybe when you transfer them you can let them sit in bags in the new tank for 20 mins just to get a good look around first. I find this always makes fish much more comfortable when you introduce them to a new tank if they can see it from the safety of the bag first 👌

      Tunze Care Magnets are kinda pricey, but very well designed. The only thing that touches the interior glass are the blades (one on each end). This means all the force of the (very strong) magnet is concentrated at the blade's edge. And there's virtually no risk of catching a grain of sand and scratching your glass.

    how does your substrate always look so clean without vac-ing it, is that from the bristlenose moving across?
    I have only a couple of snails in a tank with some shrimp and just feel like it's always a poopy mess!

    Hi. You you do a list of what your plants please?
    There is one in particular that you mention, but I can't quite get what you say for me to spell.
    Thanks

    That the temperatures match doesn't mean the osmotic values of the water match.. you will always do damage to the fish when you transfer them straight into other water. A lot of their cells will literally explode or implode. Sometimes, it results in death, especially with sensitive fish. It will definitely stress them more than necessary.

      If you are using the exact same water and water change routine, and your plants and hardscape are quite similar, the values are the same. I measure the exact same Tds and Ph in all of my Guppy tanks. So I do the same thing as Md, transfer them with no acclimation. Have never had any problems. I think it is much more stress free for them, because it is quicker. I admit being a little gentler though, letting them swim out of the box at their own leisure. I do not care about parasites or sickness either, because I keep all of the tanks healthy and clean. And I use the same equipment for maintenance anyway, everything else would be a pain. If there is a problem, I treat all of the tanks. Has only happened two times in the past 6 years!
      If there are lots of botanicals in a tank, or substrate and hardscape affecting the parameters, or if you use Ro water at different levels, that is different. Then you definitely need to acclimatise in between your tanks to not shock and harm the animals. Especially going from hard water into softer is pretty dangerous.

      True yes they should be gradually introduced to the aquarium water temperature yes it’s takes a bit more time but it lowers the risk of the fish getting sick or worse
