- In today's video, we installed a new Universal Rocks 3D Background on our 125 gallon aquarium. This tank was in need of an upgrade, and we really like how the background turned out.
Alec chose the "Rocky Style" background from Universal Rocks, along with a matching rock kit. Overall, it was fairly easy to install, and we're happy with the quality. It looks very realistic and the fish colors and designs seem to pop more versus the plain black background we had before.

Is there a way to install these with a canister filter setup? With the suction cups holding all the plumbing

Hi, thanks for the videos. I plan on buying the same tank and stand combo and would like to order a 3d background before i purchase aquarium to have it ready to install before setting up. Can you guys tell me what the inside dimensions are on length and height? I reached out to Aqueon and they could not tell anything other than outside dimensions.
What a show this three-dimensional rocky background, despite its low thickness it makes a high three-dimensionality. I also like the quick and easy setup system. Great job guys!
Hey Guys! Love your vids! How did you get the clips to work exactly and how did you get your FX6 to work with it? The way I see it there's nooo way to make this background fit behind the behemoth clip inside the tank that holds the tubes down for the FX6.
Did y'all just have to cut it? This question is actually really holding me back from getting one of these lol.
Thanks for watching! I actually had to get a few clips from home depot to keep it up. The canister filter’s in and outputs fit easily over it though
What color is this background.
quick question How do you keep yours from having a gap. I push mine against the back so it will be flushed against the back but always come back out some. I noticed my pleco like to go back there. hate if it get stuck one day. Thanks
Yeah I had the same issue. I tried my best to clamp it to the back, but siliconing is the only sure way to prevent that

I have a similar just smaller set up on my 75 gallon....Probably gonna instal a background as well...I’ve always liked the black painted background...but really love the realistic look of the rocks and should also make taking pics a lot easier🥳
Thanks! I agree. I like the look of black backgrounds usually, but this tank was a bit too dark with the black on black sand. Most of our other tanks have the plain black, but we might consider more 3D backgrounds after seeing how this one turned out
Cichlid Bros I’m on universal rocks right now peeking around🤣 I think it adds a lot of depth and realism to the look of the tank. For me the plus is also taking some of my bigger rocks out and replacing with some smaller ones like you got to add more skimming space as my haps and peacocks get bigger👌🏼 Great Video as usual👍🏼

It was a pain trying to get that background to stay up against the back glass I eventually had to silicone it to the back glass.
Yeah definitely, it took a couple attempts but I got the clamps to work eventually
@@CichlidBros mine didn't come with clamps... so you don't have the filter and heater behind it, all of that you kept in front?
What type of substrate is that? Looks nice...

So you guys didn't do any sort of epoxy/glue? You just laid it in the back, put your filters in over the front and called it good?

What kind of clamps did you use from Home Depot? I’m setting up a 125 as we speak… I’m deciding on my background tonight! Tomorrow I’ll build my stand to 8,000 lbs support. Four times its weight to be safe… I’ll send an update pic if you’d like to see it?

What dimensions did you provide them with for the background??
I just ordered the dimensions for a standard 125 gallon tank. They had an option available for that size to choose from
Without the use of the intake strainer suction cups being on the glass how do you keep the large intake strainer up close and secure when in front of the new background?
I just ordered this one as well but for my 210. Did the internal dimensions for your 125 and you ordering the 72”x24 fit fine?

Hello!!! It's been a hot minute since I checked out what's new. You guys are doing awesome. I do want to know how that background is doing for ya though. How do you keep it clean? I imagine a lot of junk can build up behind it.

The junk behind it had beneficial bacteria. Not a worry.

What did you guys use specifically to hold the n background to staying flush against the glass once the tank was filled with water? I think you said clips. I have the same background. Where can I buy the clips from? Thank you (:
I ordered the clamps on the website, and they go right at the top rim of the tank
How did it work with filter intake/output heaters etc?
How is the stand doing? Thinking about getting this setup but i read by some saying stand was cheap feeling.

@@CichlidBros it comes in three colors. Brown, gray, or castle, which is like a variegated mix of browns and grays. Yours appears to be castle.

You think these would work side by side using two backgrounds my tank will be 96 inches long
Not sure. You might see a seem between them unless you hid it with decor
