hey adam its been a while for you having this background, I ordered a background from universal rocks aswell but I wanted to silicon the background to the glass but its a lot of work I saw your video and its definitely easier way to do it but my question is does alot of debris and dirt stock behind it or it stays clean how you stopping the flow from getting behind it? let me know adam I really need to know it before I install this background. thanks
I never silicone mine. Some stuff will get behind no matter what. Basically every other water change i push against the background and it pushes any debris out

Nice review. I ordered a 48 20 for a 75 gallon new empty tank. Should I silicone it or use the clips? I am worried about algae, food and fish getting behind the background. If clips will suffice, how many should I order? They don't come with the background anymore.
Cool bulent I recommend the clips in case you ever want to remove the background. On mine I have 4 clips. One on each end and 2 more closer to the middle
@@adamc7918 thanks for the quick response. I think I will go with the clips, too. It looks like I will go with the 4 pack. They sell either 4 or 8 pack on their site.
arent tanks a standard size such as the dimensions of a 20 gal high , 29 gal , 55 gal and a 75 gal TANK.. and do they just make a back ground fit these standard TANKS ?
They ask you for specific dimensions and make for your size. You measure

Do you move the sand so the background is on the glass bottom or do you just sit it in the sand? Do you have to clean behind the background?
And what was the dimensions you gave. I have the same tank and stand
+Philthy Phill I move the sand forward so the background is on the glass. then I push the sand back to hold the bottom in place. for this one I won't clean a lot behind it. once in a while I will push on it and the stuff behind it will come out to where I can vacuum it
+Philthy Phill I believe I have 71.5 and 22.5. I'd measure to be safe. also if u get one like this it is easily trimmable with tin snips so I would error on the side of caution.

Very Nice Adam C.............interesting the difference of opinion and likes and dislikes..............The Crystal Wall is the only Background they make I dont like......LOL! It isnt that its bad it just doesnt rock my world, I am glad you like it though, the new rocks look great and all in all Tank looks very good! Interesting how you used a belt.....Very well thought out............I put my Texas Wall in my Big tank by myself and it wasnt all that fun, but I did manage to not scrath the Acrylic so it was a success...............Good work and good Video!
+Gina Corno oh man I used to have a Texas wall and I did it by myself and that was work. I went with this background because it's the only thin one I haven't had from them so I thought I'd check it out
You did good there is nothing wrong with it thats for sure, it just is so so...............I will say they are such a diverse company and there is only so much time in the day..............But they really need to work on some new Background designs.
How far does this background stick out? Considering one for a 125G but I don’t want to give up swim space, Thanks!
These thin backgrounds only take up an inch, 2 at most in the thicker parts. It's basically a sheet
Some other backgrounds stick out far more, I understand your concern. If you get a thin background I think you'll love it. Changes the whole dynamic of the aquarium
@@adamc7918it looked like the bottom portion stuck out quite a bit, but I liked this background more than the Rocky thin model. I suppose I could always call them. Thanks for the reply.

I have the smaller clips holding up my background and I've had no issues. I wouldn't like something sticking into the tank (I have too much stuff showing already).
As for the rocks, I felt the same way in the beginning but after some algae got on mine they started to look more natural and I've come to really like them.

Is this a aqueon tank ? I will order the same backround how did the measurements work for your tank 71 length by 22 1/2 height is this correct ? Because my tank which is a aqueon the height measures more like 21 1/2 ? 22 1/2 is taller the the plastic frame please advise thanks a lot 😀😀 by the way you are on top of the game love your videos bro
Hi Kevin, thanks you, I believe I did an inch off the tank dimensions for the background. You are better having it too big than too small, because I easily trimmed mine with tin snips

Hi J, yes its called Sahara Sand and is sold by a company called Caribbsea. Its basically a 70/30 white black sand mix, medium grain
In the video when you ordered your background, you said you wanted in the grey, but I was reading the comments below and you stated that the background and stackable rocks were the castle rock color? Did you end up switching the color or is the grey?
Castle rock is just a different shade of the standard grey

Hi curtis. I've never heard that. I've had 7 or 8 of them in the last 10 years and it hasn't affected any water parameters

hi David. this isn't a combo pack it's just a random collection of the stackable rocks for people to see

What kind of background do you recommend for reptiles and does suction cups stick to the background
+Bryan BB005 you'd probably want to contact jay Wilson from universal rocks for that, I don't have a ton of experience with reptiles. or you could take a look on the website. I think they may have a reptile section

+garrett ingle it depends what u want. you can find cheaper used tanks on Craigslist or something. but u may worry about a leaky old tank. if u buy a new tank from a pet store like petsmart they usually come with a warranty

Hi J yes it does. I drill holes in the background and have a UV sterilizer running behind it

+Raider Nation your best bet is just do a quick measure of the outside of the tank and subtract maybe a half inch. my tank outside measured 72x23. so I ordered 71.5x 22.5 what background do you intend to order?

How many inches does it take away from the width? Im thinking about picking it up for my new 125
+Mark Trinidad hi Mark, it sticks out just a couple inches except for the middle which is maybe 4 to 6 inches. if you don't want to lose that much space you could get the Rocky background which takes up less than an inch the whole way across. I have the rocky in my other 125 that I've also shown in videos. the background in my 220 is from a completely different company
