I got on a plane once with my one year old and Jim was sitting in the front seat. I didn't want to bother him because at the gate he kept getting asked for photos. He looked at my one year old and gave him that classic Jim Brown nod and smile. My one year old took his binky out and saluted him. It was so surreal.
From Cleveland living in South Florida I grew up honoring this Man. Mr. Jim Brown you did so much on and off the field. I salute you Sir. May you RIP....👊
Rest in peace Mr Jim Brown. THE GREATEST CLEVELAND BROWN OF ALL TIME🏈🏈🏈 Mr Brown had many achievements on and off the field and will be dearly missed here in Northeast Ohio and also around other parts of our state and our country as a whole. Let this year's Browns team be extra motivated to bring it home for #32 Jim Brown not only the GREATEST CLEVELAND BROWNS player but the greatest running back to ever lace them up in the NFL 🏈🏈 R.I.P. #32 ❤
I was born and raised in Cleveland and as a kid saw JB play in person. Like a man among boys. Best ever, no doubt. RIP Jim Brown. I recall fondly the 64 title game vs. the Colts. The last Browns title.
@@Sddysert The NFL was around for only 37 years of existence. Then a Fullback out of Syracuse University was drafted with The 6th Overall Pick in The 1957 NFL Draft by my Cleveland Browns. His name was Jimmy Brown. The NFL would NEVER be the same. Jimmy Brown changed The National Football League FOREVER!!!!!!
That was a beautiful tribute. That was tough. Damn Love Jim Brown the Best college and Professional Football Player overall and running back. RIP Jim Brown. We will always love you and remember you
I enjoyed the Jim brown stories jim he certainly was the face of the Cleveland browns for a very long period of time I will miss him greatly praying for his family and just really sad to hear the news today god bless everybody ❤🙏
They used to have footage for entire games of his era and really he was much better than mostly open field to touchdowns they often show. These should up forever
It's a sad day yes it is . My prayers go out to his family .I hope that all realize and know he was even a better human being that stood for what was right and what was priority for community's and there youths straight across the board . Football and lacrosse were just added gifts from the lord for us to enjoy watching always and forever he will be missed .
I was too young to remember 64 but the Debates in our Family were heartfelt. Jim Brown vs. Barry Sanders.🏈💕. I Do remember the Iconic Character in Running Man and he meant so much to the Cleveland Browns Organization. RIP #32 your Legacy is Multi- Generational. P..S Miss you so much Dad ✝💕
Since I didn't go to many Browns' games in the '60, I watched the "Quarterback Club" hosted by Gib Shanley (also the voice of the Browns). I loved to watch replays of John Wooten and Gene Hickerson pulling to lead Brown around an end. Those guys usually wiped out the defense on the corners and permitted big gains by Brown or Ernie Green.
Am remembering the day my friend & I was standing at the parking lot when we saw Jim Brown pulled up and parked his car. At the apartment complex were we lived in 1965 in Cleveland Ohio. I was shocked to see him in the projects were I lived. He got out his car walked up to me & my friend and rubbed my friend's head. I said, you know Jim Brown? He said yes, he is going to go see my mom, than he said do you want him to sign your football? I said yes. He ran to his apartment with my football & came back with Jim Brown signature best wishes in life to me by my name on my football. That day was one of the greatest moments still to this day! Thank you Jim Brown!
when i was a boy I SANG i wanna be a football player i wanna be on tv change that to i wanna be Jim brown RIP !!! YOU AND WALTER SAME BACK FIELD IN HEAVEN!!
#32 Jimmy Brown of The Cleveland Browns. The Greatest Running Back of All Time. Hell, there can be an argument that he's The Greatest Athlete of All Time. My Cleveland Browns should rename my Stadium The Jim Brown Stadium IMMEDIATELY!!!!!! I refuse to debate who the best rb of all time is. Its a silly argument and anyone who tries to argue it should be dismissed respectfully. Its jim brown hands down. Let people argue who number 2 was.
Hamage to the great Jim Donovan for those kind words about the KING, Jim Brown. I love the work he did with the gangs in L.A. trying to unite them and to stop the violence. Rest in PEACE KING as you left a LEGACY!!!!
Didn't get the Heisman because it was given to a blond white guy (Paul Hornung) on a team with a losing record, (Notre Dame), who wasn't in the same league as Jim Brown. Why I still find the Heisman Trophy a farce.
Yep robbed, but without Jim Brown (Cuse) don't get Ernie Davis, Floyd Little, Larry Csonka, etc... actually Cuse was robbed of two Heismans: Jim Brown, and Donovan McNabb. No offense to Ernie but Jim Brown should of been the first black player to win the Heisman! Go Cuse!
In 2009 Jim Brown interviewed Michael Vick about how the Philadelphia Eagles gave him a second chance and how dog fighting affected his life after being released by the Atlanta Falcons in 2007 and then sent to prison on 60 minutes!!!

Art probably should have treated Jim Brown with more respect. I suppose that’s true. However, the two men reconciled later on. It’s understandable for a lot of people to be upset with Art Modell. Many negative things that happened are elevated because he moved the team. That’s a good reason to elevate them, but a pretty obvious one, to say the least.
The National Football League's Most Valuable Player Award was first introduced in The NFL in 1957. And who was the first EVER recipient of this prestigious award? It was none other than The Greatest Athlete in The History of Professional Sports. The Legend. The GOAT. #32 Jimmy Brown of my Cleveland Browns. He was also the only Athlete in History win BOTH The NFL Rookie of The Year Award and The First EVER NFL's MVP Award in the same season. Jimmy Brown is also The First EVER Athlete to win The NFL MVP Award 3 times, with back to back wins in 1957,1958 and 1965. So if there's any question who's The GOAT of Professional Sports? Here's your answer. #JimmyBrown #TheGreatestOfAllTime
Oh,and by the way. The National Football League's Most Valuable Player Award should,AND WILL,be renamed The Jimmy Brown#32 Award since he basically created the DAMN thing in the first place. Make it happen!!!!!!!
Can't forget the SI cover story that hinted about Jim Brown making a comeback at age 47 with the Raiders. Though it was a well-orchestrated publicity stunt -- his generational athleticism had the sports world believing it.
There’s no running back equivalent to Jim Brown in the modern NFL. The closest is Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans. In today’s game, it would be like having a running back that was 6’4” or 6’5” that weighed around 317 pounds. Oh, yeah, if he could run about 25 mph! That would be incredible in today’s NFL!
I feel that the domestic violence "incidents" over shadow Jim Brown's effect on the field and off the field on behalf of the underprivileged. It's like someone said after the Pete Rose gambling story broke in the late 80s. It's hard enough to be good at sports, to ask these men to be good at life too is a hard feat to get to!
🤔 Jim Donavon, Tony Grossi, and Doug Dieken were quite disrespectful to Jim Brown on Cleveland Browns RedZone, when Brown was awarded the statue. I'm glad he had kind words today. My condolences to Jim Brown's wife Monique and his family. Rest until Christ's return, GOAT. To God be the Glory ❤
