    I read over a decade ago that All those ppl who jumped were never found or identified. That's what I always think about. It hits me like a ton of bricks. Often.

      Alot of them fell or were pushed as everyone was trying to get fresh air. Very few chose to jump. It was suffocating and so dark they couldn't see so they were trying to get air. By pushed I don't mean purposely, just can't breathe ,can't see. Such a sad day

      @jenniferindigochameleon6680 2 часа назад

      That Isn't true. Most are not listed as jumpers/ suicides on death certificates. Richard Drew took photos of jumpers, those on the ground, as well as photos of bodies in windows and quite visible and identified

    This episode hits me hard how long ago this tragedy was, yet it feels like only yesterday at the same time. I, along with many others, will forever remember where we were and what we were doing when the planes hit the first, and then second tower.

      These scientists are so admirable in their commitment to the families. 9/11 to my mind is the division line between “old America” and who we have become. My kids were young it’s sad they don’t even remember how that America was

    I worked at a car dealership 20 minutes from the city. 2 of our staff lost family... The aftershock went on for weeks.
    People began coming in for spare keys for their loved ones cars that were parked at train station and such.
    One of my customers was Lorraine Bey who was a flight stewardess on flight 93. Mrs. Bey cane into the BMW dealership a few days before 9/11. She was excited about a new car she was getting. She was a very classy lady.

    This was touching. I am sure this will make many of us cry who can feel the pain of all those victim families. As a respect to those lost soul I have been visiting the memorial the day before 9/11 since last 5 years. I am glad to know that behind that blue sky wall, those lost soul remains are kept in peace.The world has never been the same after 9/11 and never will be. Hug the loved one around you and tell them how special they are to you. Thank you so much for this special episode.

    I get that the TSA wouldnt be what it is today if 9/11 didnt happen, but the government needs to be honest and make public a thorough audit detailing all actions taken when using time travel technology.

    Wow, giving me chills. Its really amazing they are committed to identifying these ppl. I wish the ppl in second bldg evacuated after first bldg got hit, but i understand they didnt know that theyd get hit too. Not only that, but they didnt realize the first bldg could collapse. I was only 11 at the time and the impact of this tragedy didnt really sink in at the time, but I do remember the day and the weeks after when america came together and lots of cars had american flags flying on them. What a time. Now the flag seems to be associated with trump supporters 🙄

    Why are anthropologists doing all the DNA analysis? Shouldn't they be molecular biologists or biochemists?

    • @keithb372
      @keithb372 3 часа назад +5

      It's a combination of specialists. The anthropologists are needed to identify if the bones are human or animal. Then, they determine what kind of bone it is. Is it a leg bone? Or, is it a bone from a hand or skull? After that, the biologists are used to find any DNA that remains.

    Nearly 30 years later after the Oklahoma Bombing, The World Trade Center Bombing, 25 years later (exactly this year) after the Columbing Shooting/Attempted Bombing tragedy, and 23 years later after 9/11, all four events I have mentioned are still in many American hearts to this very day. Those in Oklahoma with the Alfred p. murrah building bombing, the first massive school shooting that lasted over 3 hours from 11:15am up until 02:15pm in the afternoon, and 9/11 lasting over 2 hours of the attack, it goes to show that 1991 - 2001 is the most violent decade in American history behind 1963 - 1969 and 1940 - 1945 being the worst one of all.
    I never got to know this day sadly since I was in a private school for the majority of the day, and had no idea many students in public school all left except my second older brother and I, which is why I was only 5 years old in 2001, and September 11th, 2001 to me was just another ordinary day without even knowing what the heck was going on, it would take at least 9 years until 2010 for me to realize the tragedy happened, and for nearly 9 years, including Virginia Tech and the July 7th UK bombing, I had no idea how many terrorist attacks have occurred between age 3 and age 13 between 1999 and 2009. My two oldest siblings and parents knew how bad this day would be, just not my second older brother and I with autism of course.
    If there is one thing I would like to do in the future, is to travel back in time to show my younger self the horrible tragedy that happened on this day, so he too would never forget.
