Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Iron Maiden
Blood Brothers
Clansman
Fear of the dark live version also, etc..
yeah!!!! rime of the ancient mariner !!!I love this song!!!!
Hell yeah buddy. Every song on your list is a beast. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I will also add Dance of Death from live from En Vivo and the Talisman from said show too.
Don’t forget Hallowed be thy Name (live ofc)
Yesss all live!
This song and the Nightwish song is NOT the same !!
This is an original, the Nightwish song is a cover of the film and musical !!
Greetings from Germany and sorry for any mistakes for my broken English

If you have the chance to see Iron Maiden live, go!! It is the one and the BEST band in live show!!
I'm from Argentina, and I go to see them EVERY time they came this way! I love this guys!
I was there & i can tell you it was fantastic, i have been a Maiden fan since 1977 & have seen them so many times there shows are a blast, if you get the chance to see them do so you won't be disappointed UP THE IRONS
I love people loving Nicko, he is really awesome
nightwish but I do like maiden have for years
The chemistry between band members and the fun they have on stage is quite the same for IM and NW. They love what they do, they are good at it, and it really shows !!
Just WOW !! Thanks of this. I love both bands ;)
I grew up listening to Maiden in the 80s and never get tired of hearing them...other bands like damn it if I hear strutter again I'm going to f'*!n lose my mind. Up the irons!🧐
please react to Blind Guardian- and then there was silence
Great song
you sayed youre a dude who from BEFORE metal - so please just do some deep purple or uriah heep :D
iam interested what song you would chose^^
I would be glad
Dude 666 kicks ass The IRON Fucking MAIDEN
big a few months since maiden bro. no one has reviewed 'the prisoner' yet. its on number of the beast. that and 22 acacia avenue, consecutive songs on the same album and they are both 10/10
Monsters of rock? 😊 half a million folk 😊
Nicko Mcbrian man so fucking good on drums, you should re-listen some of their live songs you already did and pay attention to drums I swear that guy has golden hands and feet if it comes down to drums. I myself am a guitar player but I have so much respect for Nicko. Damn
I like Nicko, but this song is so much better with Clive on drums!
Iron maiden is better than night wish
Wait! You call yourself Mr. Rock and Roll but you just started listening to Maiden 2 weeks ago? WTF!?!?!?
this version is a lot slower than the original IM album version.i suggest you listen to the proper version and not this lame slow version!
This version is based on the Literature piece of Gaston Leroux, not the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber
Thanks for the clarification. I hadn't seen this Iron Maiden song, and kept listening for anything that sounded like Andrew Lloyd Weber. But, this is a hell of a performance!!
Steve Harris is just a beast.
The two phantoms are different Heath. Nightwish is a cover of the musical phantom of the opera. Maidens phantom is just God like Metal.
Both songs are TOP.
@@MrRockNRollLive You don't have to.
Nightwish fan, but I've got to hand it to Iron Maiden this time! They did an original song; this isn't a cover of your Broadway classic, and the guitar player *killed* it!
As a fun of both i would love to see Tarja with Bruce, Bruce already sing in opera before so that would be a duet out of this universe. :)
Nightwish is like no match for Iron Maiden... Up the irons!!
Iron Maiden, Rime of The ancient mariner, live Flight 666 pleaseeee! 🤘🤘🤘
THIS!!!!
YES YES YES
From live 666? There is just a reason: you are too young, for the LIVE AFTER DEATH.
@@skyscraper7474 Flight 666 is actually better
@@hankthefarmer4433 for you.
Everything you need to know about Iron Maiden is onstage! \m/
This song was released on Maiden's first album in 1980 with Paul DiAnno on vocals, and is one of their early originals. The Nightwish video is a cover version of an Andrew Lloyd Weber song from the Broadway musical. Completely different songs, both are excellent.
Up the irons buddy. You need to react to the live performances of The Clansman and also sign of the cross. Amazing does not even get close. All the best from another Airbourne and ACDC veteran. Keep up the amazing work. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
He's right. Those are versions are outta this worl!

Then react to Revelations, To Tame a Land, Where Eagles Dare and Flight of Icarus, from PIECE OF MIND ALBUM
Then react to Caught Somewhere in Time, Stranger in a Strange Land, The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, Alexander the Great and Waster Years, from SOMEWHERE IN TIME ALBUM.
Then react to Infinite Dreams, Can I Play with Madness, The Evil that Man Do, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, from SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON ALBUM
Then react to Tailgunner from NO PRAYER FROM THE DYING album

React to Sign of the Cross LIVE AT ROCK IN RIO from X FACTOR ALBUM (sorry Blaze Baley)

then go back and react to several songs from the first albums, with Paul DiAnno and Number of the Beast, the first album with Bruce.
and back to the past future with Dance of Death album...
YES
As happy as they seem to be playing this song.. you must also consider that this song was on their very first studio album.. they have been playing this song for over 40 years.. and they are STILL happy to be playing it. That should say something about this band in and of itself.
Peace
So this has got nothing to do with the Webber's Phantom of the Opera. Steve Harris wrote this song in the late 70s as he was waiting for a bus in the streets of London...!
Uhmm You do realize they do not sing the same song right? Nightwish sings the Andrew Lloyd Webber version from the musical. Iron maidens version was written by Stephan Harris. But to answer your question about who wins: When Bruce and Tarja sing everyone wins. I do wonder how many miles Bruce moves during a show though boy is never standing still.
Never been before and never will be again, never be another Iron maiden, unique original Powerful, stage perfection and quite simply a music phenomenon 🤘
Listen to the original with Paul Di´anno.
Think the original was way better
I'm sorry, but in WHAT world is this the same song as the Nightwish cover from the musical???
They're not even remotely similar!!!
The Phantom of the Opera muscal, which Nightwish does the famous song, came out in 1986.
Iron Maiden's Phantom of the Opera is based directly from the 1910 book and was released in 1980. Thus obviously, they invented their own song for the book.
@@grievuspwn4g3 yes, but the famous Phantom of the Opera song didn´t exist yet when Iron Maiden created theirs.
A lot of people? Nothing special no more than 100,000. But the place itself is magical and legendary. Because of this, the crowd always looks impressive.
You gotta do the classics
Run to the hills
Hallowed by thy name
Number of the beast
Aces high
The trooper!
@@ixachilanca he already did the trooper c:
@@Zwachhiee Really? LOL OK, will check it because this guy is uploading a lot of videos! Thanks for the heads up.
1:11 Bruce Dickinson (Maiden´s singer) was flying one of those at that festival
Find me a song that Iron Maiden doesn't triolify. Because they do it better than anyone. But I wait to see which one of the songs in the immortal Phantom Of The Opera this is.
(Speaking of opera, the performing of Phantom I saw at Helsinki Opera House is second to only one. The Hunchback of the Notre Dame at Tampereen Teatteri, a re-gorification of the Disney nice clean version back to the original Hugo story, is just immortal. I hope they publish the recording of it. People from 9 to 90+ were crying there.)
Up the Irons 🤘🤘. How awesome would Bruce and Floor be together?
Completely, totally, utterly awesome!
No stage big enough for so much talent!
Would love to see it.
Not nearly as awesome as Bruce and Tarja.
@@arrow_of_longing Now the bad news. Steve Harris at least is a big fan of Tuomas... and Anette. Floor may have brought him 'round, though.
Bruce, Floor and Marco! Emppu running around with Janick, having fun. And then, drum attack! Kai and Nicko battling it off.
It would be too much for my heart to handle!
Almost 40 years ago I saw Maiden perform this at the 1980 Reading Rock Festival. Bruce was also there with his band Samson.
Please check out Dio's cover of Aerosmith Dream On, it's taken to another level by Dio. Freaking Amazing cover with Yngwie Malmsteen on guitar.
different song than the one night wish is covering . I actually prefer the original singer(Paul Di'Anno) on this one. here is a link ruclips.net/video/t5jaRipA5_M/видео.html
Rime of the Ancient Mariner - live flight 666 next please ❤️
Bruce is not the original singer of this song, you need to hear iron maidens version with the original singer! Paul Di ANNO
LOVE THIS ...BUT THIS IS NOT THE SAME SONG ..NIGHTWISH VERSION IS FROM THE MUSICAL WHICH IS EPIC AS HELL ..I WONT CHOOSE WHICH IS BETTER THOUGH ...BOTH INSANE ...THIS THE METAL VERSION , AND NIGHTWISH ,S METAL THEATRICAL SPIN ON A CLASSIC SONG ..
Rime of the Ancient Mariner Flight 666
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
- Where Eagles dare
-Rime of the ancient mariner
-caught somewhere in time
…………………………………………...
Not the same song. Nightwish plays the only Phantom of the opera song i know. I'm a big fan of both bands.
Love it, I actually like the Iron Maiden take more but cant also not love Nightwish. I have a suggestion for something different I think you will love...Blind and Frozen by Beast in Black.
OMFG YES. And Yannis covering Ghost Love Score
@@samuelengle3773 Love that one. Also would recommend to Mr.RockinRoll to watch From Hell With Love by Beast in Black or several songs from Battle Beast...Beast In Blacks...relatives so to speak
@@samuelengle3773 NO! 🤦
It's not a "version". They are completely different songs. They just happen to have the same name.
Personally, no one does Phantom of the Opera like Sarah Brightman. She was the original singer of the song. In fact, it was written for her by her husband, Andrew Lloyd Webber, the famous composer.
That being said, I hadn't heard this before and I f'n LOVED it! Bruce Dickinson has one of the best male voices in metal EVER!! I'm pretty sure Brittney Hayes is the love child of Dickinson and Dio.
Brittney or Floor would not be out of place in Maiden, should Bruce retire (not that he will).
@@ChrisPage68 I kinda don't see Floor there. But Brittney? Oh gawd!! Yes, please!!!!!
It's an amazing band. I've been listening to them since 1981-2 and you've just discovered them but the love is the same. I've seen them live 8 times and they are the best live band i have ever seen. I haven't seen Nightwish yet, though...I have a feeling they are even better. But Maiden live is an experience, audience from 12-70 years old and everybody sings along in every song. Amazing feeling of belonging, the metal family is huge, diverse and welcoming!
This is an iconic song man... You just experienced live heavy metal history. For me no one else delivers like iron maiden does on stage. 🙂🤘
The reaction should have been "Live at the Rainbow" , with the original Maiden Paúl Di Anno and the great Cliver Burr on drums
One of the most iconic guitar lines in all of metal.
You better listen Ac/Dc. You are not prepare to Maiden staff.
Floor did a cover of The Evil that Men Do. It was pretty good.
That's a good cover. She was with the band Afterforever I think!
Same title different song
Iron Maiden is great. I feel you are going to completely lose it when you get around to Hallowed Be Thy Name. The studio version is great but the song is greater live.
You need more Iron Maiden man!!
Do “Hallowed be thy Name” 🤘🏻
ha.... Not the same song.
Up the irons 🤟
This is an original song by IM, not a cover of the Andrew Lloyd Webber song. If you want to compare the Nighwish cover with something, check out the Impellitteri cover. It's pretty awesome. Still Metal, so it's a valid comparison.
Nightwish competing with Iron Maiden? Ridiculous. Nightwish are fanboys and girls. The fly does not complete with the elephant. Iron Maiden are in a league of their own. You are too new here. Learn more before speaking stupid things.
who done it better???? Maiden or Nightwish???
Apples and rotten oranges bro ... smh
UP THE IRONS \m/
plz don't take it personally, but it really bothers me ... calls the channel Mr. Rock N Roll, then says "started to listen to Iron Maiden 2 weeks ago" !!!!!!!!
I'm 36, got my first taste of Iron Maiden when I was 9, and I still don't dare fly too close to the sun and analyze MAIDEN !!!!!
still thumbed up tho, for catching up ;)
Makes a comment about the size of the crowd. That's nothing. Maiden played in front of 300,000 people in 1985, and 250,000 people in 2001. Both times at the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil.
but you do know that Bruce Dickinson is (as a popular meme... which has some truth to it) "The Chuck Norris of Music" though right....? you have GOT to watch some live earlier shows.... the man was always and is still always 1000%, and he is like almost 60 here??
Maiden is a trend setter - they set standards in metal for over 30 years. Nightwish is a great band that has taken symphonic metal to the next level. Each at the top of their game in their own genre and time frame.
Phantom is the quintessential Iron Maiden song; a perfect blend of heavy and melodic.
Yeah, the perfect description is heavy and melodic!! That’s their essence!!
I prefer Nightwish's version better because it's still recognizable, although they make it their own, and what Iron Maiden does is not the same song. I prefer Floor over Tarja. Still, I appreciate what Tarja and Marco does here. Even though I appreciate it, it's not something I'd want to listen to that much.
I grew up in a socialist country (the UK), and so obviously the technology I had access to was somewhat behind. In the 90s i found my brothers iron maiden vinyl records. i nearly wore them out, particularly 'live after death'. Its only really now that i begin to understand how awsome they are.
Unique problem with the Iron Maiden is that they manage to outsell most festivals by themselves.
Also, another good indicator that they love their job is that most of them are doing this for the last 40 years. xD
Have you been listening to dolly pardon all your life !??? I won’t even tell you about slipknot !killswitch engage 46 crazy fists pantera etc etc etc
I was at Download that year. We were backstage too!!! Awesome
Check out Michael Crawford's version ✌️🥴
The first album from iron maiden called '' killers '' there ist the phantom opera with the first Singer from iron maiden. His Name was Paul di anno. Check it out.
Different song, same title. The Nightwish one is a cover of the musical.
In the second listening of any IM song, listen for the bass, not the guitars and thank me later.
Up the Irons.

watch iron maiden "bring your daughter to the slaughter" live donnington 1992
I'd be smiling 24/7 too if I had that drummer's life. Imagine being paid to do what he does and having adoring fans all over the world.
please react to the same song but by the ORIGINAL SINGER!!!!
I realize this is a year late, but you should check out Iced Earth's Phantom Opera Ghost.
If you ever get the chance to go to a Maiden show....
Go! Every single one is epic.
Each of the band members is on virtuosity level.
You should do some power metal to get your veins pumping.

For anyone interested here is the original song that the Nightwish song is taken from ..... ruclips.net/video/oZDcSrODALQ/видео.html

Phantom of the Opera my favourite song by Iron Maiden!
Hola bro ....dance of death en vivo 👍🤟👏 saludos desde Chile...😷😷
10:14 oh dam I don't have hair long enough 😆😆😆😆😵
There is no band that can match the mighty maiden!!! Up the Irons!!!
Years ago in the uk this song was used in an energy drink advert
Iron maiden is the best ever, old school and they still is the best
Fear of the dark live from Donnington park.. You won't regret it!
Rock in rio is also an alternative.. Man I don't know which is better.
I'm pretty sure Rio is the only choice England has great fans but crazy latinos will just blow mr. Rock N Roll socks away. because he still didn't seen nothing like that. :D
Great video. What makes it better is i was actually at Download at the time
Iron maiden by far since that’s its a Steve Harris,s song
Tarja and Floor are queens of metal.... Iron Maiden are gods.
This was my first time reaction when this song was released 😂.
