      Queta has a pretty limited skill set on offense, but he's a true big who actually plays big. You can always tell when he's in there that he's a big physical presence. While Porzingis is still out, it's really important that the Celts have a guy like Queta who can step right in and handle the middle of the floor with his strength and length.

      @Ironfangzu definitely. I also feel he hasn't been utilized by the team to his full potential. I see multiple plays each game where he's open on the roll or has a clear lane to the hoop but doesn't get the pass, which is kinda dumb cause how can you miss him?

    His shot has been lights out this year, but I think people also sleep on his handle. His size makes it so he'll never be an elite finisher at the rim or anything, but he's able to push the pace hard on fast breaks, and when he does drive he forces help and has been making the right pass consistently off of it. His defense has also significantly improved, he used to be a bit of a liability out there, and can still draw some size mismatches, but he hangs in there better than ever.

      @melmartinez7002 Месяц назад +1

      @@GurtonBuster07 Yeah, Payton may be "only" 6' 1", but he's built like a brick. He's very strong. Not Jrue Holiday strong (which is insane). But way stronger than most small 'quick guards'. Height also mainly matters when you get closer to the rim. It's much less of a factor out on the perimeter and for picking up the ball advance, which is where Payton plays most of his defense. Out there, foot speed and smarts on when to go over/under screens and switch or not is the most important thing.

If you watched the Cleveland game, whoever Pritcherd was on, they would screen, get the switch, and just back him in and shoot over him. While he is a tenacious defender, he is still susceptible to his play against the post up. My opinion is that he is lucky to be on the perfect team for his abilities. If you are playing defense against the Celtics, Tatum needs to be double teamed. Brown needs to be double teamed. Both of these guys can beat single coverage off the dribble and end up with an easy layup or a dunk. Derek White is almost impossible to guard with one guy. He moves without the ball constantly, and if you lose sight of him for a second, he'll torch you. Holiday is only a slightly less dangerous threat by comparison. But he can hit the sideline corner 3 with the best of them, and he has a very physical low post game where he can overpower most guards. You have to do what you can to guard these guys, and so Pritchard is left semi-unguarded because you only have so many players on the floor. But, he's the Celtic's best 3 point shooter. What do you do on D?

    i disagree respectfully to pritchard, who is one of he hardest workers in the nba and has improved an insane amount. he's an elite bench player. he would show a lot of his flaws against fresh starters; size, defense, athleticism, rebounding. off the bench he's a very good backup point guard and scorer. he might win sixth man some day. in a smaller market he could start but he wouldn't be nearly as effective in terms of what he adds because you'd have to rely on him for other things as a starter. as a bench player he can get you 20 on a given night and be on the floor at the end of the game when we have the ball and need shooters. i think he's found the perfrect spot in the league. if pingus stays healthy they may win another one.

    Would have went undrafted if was'nt for Danny Ainge, this and Tom Brady are great examples of only Boston teams knowing what they are doing as far as drafting.

    Pritchard offensive game cannot be denied but tbh that was never his issue. if he can consistently play defense then he will be our best bench player. he's small for his position and as a long time Celts fan, Payton was fucking awful at defense. he's getting better though

    Well done. I’m amazed at how he can grab offensive rebounds. That being said ….”trick-shotter…?” Nope. C’mon man, you’re better than that.

    He’d start on any other team in the NBA? Let’s not go crazy here. He’s a nice little player but when the defense picks up in the playoffs he can barely get a shot off.

    Dude’s in the first year of a four year $30 million contract. Way underpaid. When they’re forced to break the team up, he’ll likely still be wearing Celtic green.
